I was pretty excited to try this place out given the reviews and photographs posted but wow, what an utter disappointment and truly upsetting experience.
I visited on a Saturday afternoon with my husband and a group of friends expecting to have some drinks and hang out before an event we were attending. There were a total of three bartenders attending the small space and although it can be difficult sometimes to acknowledge everyone given the bar setting, we waited a good twenty minutes before we were greeted and asked for our order. Once our two drink orders were handed to us, my husband asked if he could have another drink (for our friend) to which the bartender rudely rolled his eyes, gave an exasperating and unwarranted head shake and walked away. Eventually he came back with the third drink and we left to our table. Through the course of that interaction, we learned that one of our friends could not find her credit card and believed it was never given to her by the bartender (same one from my previous paragraph). My friend and her husband then went to the bar and asked if perhaps he accidentally kept it to which he denied and became awkwardly defensive. A few minutes later he returns and states that he found her credit card by the register (no apology, by the way).
Some time later, my husband and two other friends return to the bar to grab some more drinks when everything just starts to snowball. My husband paid for the tab and handed his credit card to the bartender (again, same guy from the previous incidents described) but never gets it back. When he is handed the bill, he asks the bartender for his credit card to which the bartender replies, verbatim - "I don't know where your card is, I gave it to you. I don't have f-ng (yes, that IS the f word being used) time to look for it right now." In shock my husband and friends walk back to us and describe what just happened. My husband quickly blocks his card and in doing so, a group of three other men who were witnesses to the events come up to our table and say to check the bartenders pockets because they saw him put the credit card in there. As everyone is still reeling in from the rudeness and unapologetic demeanor, my husband and his friends are asked to step outside by another employee of the establishment who identified himself as the "safety manager". As we all stepped outside with them, the employee states that the bartender (the credit card thief) no longer wants my husband or friends inside and that we need to leave.
Let me be clear, at no point were any of us disorderly, intoxicated, nor causing any kind of scene. On the contrary, we were sitting in our table discussing what had happened and taking action to block the credit account and move on from the ordeal. So, being "escorted" out was embarrassing and extremely unnecessary. As we explained our side of the story to the "safety manager" we asked if we could go back inside and speak to THE manager of the establishment. This safety manager went back inside to "ask" and when he came back, he stated no that "THE" manager did not want to speak to us. He then stated that "THE" manager of the establishment was none other than the bartender aka credit card thief. At this point, everything was just painfully sketchy and we decided to head on out without giving this place another second or cent.
About three hours later, my husband received a text from the "safety manager" stating that my husbands credit card had been found wedged between the register and the rails of the bar. By this point, my husband had cancelled his credit card obviously, and there was no need to even return and get it back, but we did. As we made our way back to the bar, the "safety manager" refused to let us in and instead fetched the credit card from inside and brought it to us while stating that we were basically not welcome back in. To whoever reads this and still decides to attend this bar, please BEWARE. Be mindful of your surroundings and make sure you are not taken advantage of...
Read moreLoved the place liked the music, bartenders always serving great drinks, until apparently i sit next to the "OWNER" to drink one beer. I heard that he told the bartender that he doesn't want me near around him which it suprise me cuz i dont know the guy and i wasn't doing anithing to provoked him or anybody at that place. So i went to a next sit. And he stared to provoked me saying that "he wanted to take me outside and put me down to a fight". I told the bartender and logiclike he went supporting his boss. He just called his bodyguards and they kickme out of the place. At any bar that i have gone i have never experienced so much hate. I didn't say or do anything to provoked nobody in that place, i was just having one beer calmly. Below a pic f the bartender that i told that i was having problems with. But reading the below comments about this place he apparently stills credits cards from his clients. What to expect!!. Great name for this place "Mama Tried" tried to show the owner his son hospitality.
I'm hoping you the "owner" of of this business response this review cuz i'm really disappointed. Used to come to this bar and...
Read moreI’ve never had such a bad experience at a bar. We went in for a couple of drinks before a concert in downtown Miami when the bartender lost one of my friend’s credit cards. Instead of helping us look for it, he got super defensive and said he didn’t have time. This came shortly after he almost couldn’t find mine.
You’d think, no matter whose fault it was, that the employee would at least be polite. Instead, he told us to get out of his face and wouldn’t even look us in the eye. To top it all off, someone else at the bar told us they saw him stash the card. Eventually, they called and said they found it—but by then we were already so upset by how we’d been treated.
I’ve been here many times, but I will not be going back. This was one of the worst bar experiences I’ve ever had in Miami. If you go here, please be aware and ask for your card the second you close your tab. The bartender clearly had a bad day and took it out on his customers. I DO NOT...
