I’ve been wanting to come check this place for a long time, very happy that I did so.. service overall was excellent very attentive the restaurant wasn’t so busy even tho was evening which I believe is what helped to make service being so efficient and attentive , the food tasted fresh and all temakis were well prepared . My only issue I encountered was actually with someone who said to be the “chef” I enjoy having miso soup at any weather but specially if has rained ;) and right is hurricane season .. the chef was chatting with the table next to me and offering them suggestions and when one the guest inquired him about the soup I was having he made some comments that I loudly heard that made me feel somewhat shamed and not comfortable … saying that is June is hot isn’t weather to be having soup that they should try other stuff and I thought that was unnecessary considering I was right next to them having the said soup and clearly hearing all his remarks.. I believe if he holds such strong opinion about someone having a dish that is in the menu that since he’s the chef he probably helped created , he should update the menu for the season and remove the miso soup or write only allowed until May 🤡 instead of making those type comments while I’m having the soup.. made me feel really weird and not welcome in a way. I believe that was unnecessary and unprofessional and a place that wants to be held at a high level should act as such. Besides that everything was great the serves were exceptional and attentive.. but for this”chef “ as his commentaries I will reconsider next time before choosing...
Read moreWe dined here today without a reservation, and they graciously accommodated us, which we really appreciated. The food, overall, was incredible—far exceeding what one might typically expect in Miami. Every dish impressed us, except for the churro dessert, which didn’t quite hit the mark.
Service was just okay. There were quite a few missed details—cutlery wasn’t always in place, soy sauce was forgotten, and service touchpoints were overlooked. We also noticed a hygiene concern: the soy sauce droppers were being touched by diners, and sometimes even made contact with the food itself, which is a red flag, especially considering the plant-based menu.
Another concern was how the soy sauce bottles were refilled—we observed one being topped off without a proper clean-out in between, which felt unsanitary. Also, the wooden cutlery is reused, which contradicts food safety guidelines. Like wooden cutting boards, reusable wooden utensils aren’t ideal in restaurant settings due to hygiene risks.
Unfortunately, there was a fly in my miso soup, likely from the bar area where fruit flies were present. While things like that can happen, the lack of a proper response made it worse. I was still charged for the soup even after pointing it out and requesting a replacement. There was no apology or goodwill gesture from the manager, which was disappointing.
The food here has incredible potential, but the experience fell short due to lapses in service and cleanliness. With some attention to detail and improved hospitality, this place could...
Read moreI had a mixed but mostly positive experience at this restaurant. Upon arrival, I was admiring the food from outside when a kind waiter noticed and graciously invited me in through the back patio, seating me promptly. That warm gesture set a welcoming tone. Since the dining concept was unfamiliar to me, the same waiter took the time to explain how things worked, which I really appreciated.
The food itself was flavorful and well-prepared—definitely enjoyable. That said, the prices were on the higher side, so it’s worth noting if you're budget-conscious.
The ambience was perfect and quiet, not loud.
One aspect that felt less polished was the payment process. A 20% service charge is automatically added, which is typical and understandable as some tourists do not tip, but then you're prompted for an additional tip while the card reader is held in front of you. While this might be convenient for some, it felt a bit awkward and detracted from the overall experience. It's a common practice in Miami, but having just visited NYC where tipping is more discretionary, it stood out. Personally, I believe fair wages for staff would be a more elegant solution.
Overall, the service and food were commendable, but the tipping setup could benefit from a more...
