I have a rule.. as a fine dine traveling chef that has just about traveled this entire country and abroad and whom also has the opportunity to chef for some of the wealthiest people on the planet at my restaurant; when i see the New Words (SERVICE FEE ) that some establishments have adopted in exchange for gratuity on my bill without acknowledging it before hand, it's upsetting and i consider that uninformed theft. And i get it, some people can sit in your restaurant and tip poorly and some don't tip at all. But to have a 20% (SERVICE FEE) placed on a Togo order in which i wasn't aware of is not cool. I can't point all the blame on the restaurant because i should have payed attention to my ticket before i left instead of afterwards in which lots of customers do. I'm a New customer and it's my first time in 25yrs coming home and hanging out in the wynwood area. I'm not sure if its something that all the restaurants do in this area, but i still feel uniformed with this 20% ( SERVICE FEE ) added to my Togo order. So I'm giving this place 4* because any kind of uninformed theft to me is not cool. And whomever can slice this up how ever they want, but i know better. Other than that the atmosphere was beautiful, the vibe was amazing, the employees seemed to be extremely nice, and the drop dead gorgeous bartender who took my order was awesome with a great personality. I've reached out to the restaurant but i guess im calling at the wrong time because the phone just ring and ring..maybe I'll try again before i leave town to express my issue. I may never return there because i don't believe in adding any kind of extra fees to a customers bill, but I'd definitely still recommend this place for sure. Let me warn you tho!! because they might not 😊..Dine In or Takeout, It may be an automatic 20% ( Gratuity aka SERVICE FEE ) added to your bill. And if your like me who rather tip accordingly instead of by force, you understand why this is a stickler.. because some service can be awful a those don't...
Read moreI am writing this review bc the waiter gave us free tequila shots✨✨
We chose this restaurant bc of the amazing reviews and fun vibes online!! We originally had an 8pm reservation and the restaurant was very accommodating when we needed to push it back a few times. They were responsive and helpful! We arrived at 915 and it was pretty empty with bright lights. The nightlife vibe with louder music and dim lights start around 1030.
Positives: food was flavored pretty well cocktails and sake were yummy portions of rice and noodle dishes were filling staff was nice free shot of tequila they charged my phone behind the bar 🫶 cute atmosphere
Growth areas: we saw 2 cockroaches. After roach 1, we were confused why no one on staff noticed. Then, a different customer pointed out the roach on the wall to the staff— and we noticed there was a second roach inside the restaurant. The staff then KNEW there was a roach, continued to ignore it and tried to just serve the table like it didn’t exist. Finally, the staff killed the roach and our table screamed. He said “why are you screaming?” And walked away. We did speak to two different staff members about the cockroach and then did not offer any compensation as an apology. they wouldn’t give us a water pitcher bc they didn’t want the table to get wet (they eventually did give us the pitcher but it was weird) some food and drinks were delayed and they needed reminders to bring it over the menu is misleading bc appetizers are listed/priced the same as entrees, but the the portion size was...
Read moreThe decor here is really nice and our waitress was friendly. The food unfortunately was not good, and the drinks were poorly made. My spouse and I ordered the oxtail fried rice which was extremely salty and lacked oxtail; chicken satay, which was pretty much grilled chicken with a lite drizzle of some sort of sweet sauce (was not the peanut sauce that’s normally topped on chicken satay); and wagyu potstickers that completely fell apart. We also ordered two passion fruit margaritas that came to us 3/4 full. It did not help that we were seated right in front of the bartender, where we witnessed him dipping a straw in a drink to taste, which is not an issue. It was the double dip that took me out. I said to myself maybe he made a drink for himself, until the waitress grabbed the drink to bring it to a customer. As the waitress walked pass our table she overheard my spouse and I talking about it and gave the bartender the heads up. The bartender went over to the table where the drink was given, to take it back and make a new one. We then decided to just get the bill and leave. It was empty when we came in, and still empty when we left on Sunday evening. It was so disappointing because we really wanted to...
