This is exactly what Mexican food should be. Fresh & Simple ingredients with delicious authentic taste. Also very reasonably priced.
$20 for 3 tacos and fountain drink including a tip.
I got a Pescado taco “Grilled Mahi Mahi, cabbage, cilantro, onions, tomato, avocado & chipotle sauce ($4.89). Very fresh and light. The chipotle sauce adds flavour without overpowering the Mahi Mahi.
Also got a Carne Asada taco “Flame grilled angus steak (angus beef), cilantro, onions, guacamole & salsa” ($4.79). The steak was juicy and tender, the guacamole & salsa brought it all together perfectly.
Last but not least, An Al Pastor taco “Rotisserie marinated pork, cilantro, onions, cilantro sauce + pineapple” ($3.99). The marinated pork was so flavourful and tender. The sweetness from the pineapple and refreshing cilantro come together for the perfect bite.
If you’re in the Wynwood area, this place is a must try. I’ll probably go back later today to try more of the menu.
I came back the next day, I love this place.
This time I got the “secret menu items”.
The Al Pastor Volcan, omg this was amazing! I could eat this everyday. “Tostada, melted cheese, al pastor, guacamole, white onions, cilantro, pineapple and salsa cilantro” ($5.89). I think this was my favourite thing I ate.
The Carne Asada Volcan, it was good but the Al Pastor stole the show for me. “Tostada, melted cheese, carne asada, guacamole, white onions, cilantro, mild salsa” ($5.89)
Next up was the Camaron Taco (Spicy Shrimp). “Grilled shrimp, cheese, avocado, cabbage, tomato & chipotle sauce” ($4.89). Not very spicy. Very good shrimp taco, I liked this more than the fish taco I had yesterday.
Lastly, I had the Pollo Asado Taco “Flame grilled chicken, cilantro, onions, guacamole & salsa” ($3.99). Nice char flavour on the chicken, probably my least favourite taco from everything I ate.
I love this place. Won’t be surprised if I come back again...
Read moreWynwood is my second fav spot in Miami after South Beach. I have been to Wynwood several times in the past and still everytime i find something new to explore and try here. This time stopped by a local favorite Taco place aptly called - The Taco Stand. The minute you walk into this spot it looks like you are transported to a mexican street with those flags chairs and color theme. Next, you stand in line (beware the line can be huge during lunch hours but its well worth if) place your order and grab a seat while you wait for your name to be called out.
We ordered the baja tacos, camaron tacos, pollo asada and al pastor tacos with corn on the cob. Honestly I dont know which taco was better than the other cos they all tasted amazing. My devoured my camaron tacos. The shrimp qas perfectly cooked and each taco comes loaded with stuff like avocado, cabbage, tomato, etc. you can add cheese for an extra price if required. The best part is their sauces which are available for everyone to pick for free and add them to your taco to enhance the flavors of an already amazing taco. We tried the chipotle sauce, cilantro sauce (the best) along with their most spicy sauce - la salsa macha (the hottest and i loved this but i am crazy about spicy food). I added the cilantro sauce and la salsa macha to each of my tacos and they exploded with additional flavors. The pollo asado and al pastor and baja tacos were equally delicious.
Staff is super nice and friendly and gets through the line pretty quick. Your food is also ready at a very fast pace. I highly recommend this place in Wynwood and i will visit you...
Read moreI dont leave reviews, but I wanted to leave this review cause I was impressed by how I was treated in a not so good experience that was fixed. My buddies and I walked into Taco stand in wynwood, visiting from out of town. we came in Tuesday night for taco tuesday! place was full. I was going to give a bad review cause I had to wait over 30 minutes for our order, and when i got my order it was missing some food, i had a back and forth with a young lady and i was upset. We got the rest of our food and moments later a gentleman came forward, he introduced himself(moses) and quickly apologized for our wait and asked how he can make our experience better. He wanted to know what happened since im sure he saw my back and forth with the young lady just to gather info but he made us feel a lot better after the fact, he offered to buy us a round for the inconvenience, I appreciated that but we rejected as I told him I was going to leave a bad review, he apologized again and told us to give the taco stand another chance despite the wait and experience and he emphasized that they were better than that and wanted to make that experience better on a second visit before leaving the review. I gave this a thought and we went back in yesterday, he remembered us and warmly welcomed us. Everything was great, food is worth the wait, I just really appreciate how he conducted himself and deescalated the heat of the moment from almost leaving a bad review to a place that probably wouldnt have...
