My experience on 11/21/20, at approximately 7:15pm, was not the best. A gentleman there must've been waiting on a cup for a refill. He kept waiting and finally went behind the counter, grabbed a cup, filled it and left. The young lady at the register was the only one out front. She was taking a decent size order. I was next in line, and while waiting, a man walked in. At that time, she started yelling for Justin. After taking the lady's order in front of me, she went to the back to get him. He finally made his way to the front to help prepare the food. I saw him put on a pair of gloves and I didn't see him change them. I'm not sure how many orders he made with the same gloves on. The girl working the register switched to making food. She did put gloves on and changed in between orders. However, I don't know if she sanitized her hands before picking up gloves to put on. While still waiting on my order, a girl came in. I assume a delivery person. Her mask was under her nose. She did fix it after a few minutes. When I went to to the counter the original lady from the register, her mask was also below her nose and so was Justin's. I went to my car and waited to see if I could see if they at least fixed their masks. It was hard to tell for certain, but from what I could see, the girls did fix theirs. I'm not sure about Justin. And, the floor behind the counter wasn't especially clean. Maybe they had a rush before I got there, but.... This has made me very uncomfortable. I went to the company website and the only way to get to customer service is by calling. You would think there would be an email option.
Update Went back to same location on 12/29/20, approximately 4:30pm. Only customer. 1 employee outside smoking. The other in the back. I almost walked out after a couple of minutes waiting for service. The guy who waited on me was very nice. However, between the 2 of them it appeared gloves were not used correctly and masks were below the nose on 1 and on the guy waiting on me, his mask fell below his nose before he started making my sandwich and continued slipping to past his mouth while making my food. I made a comment to him about it being below his nose and he said, "yeah, I think it's worn out." Never fixed the mask in the proper position until I refused the food and asked for a refund, which, will take 3 -5 business days to be posted back to my debit card. Unless there is a drastic change, I will not go back to that particular store. I will also let others know about these 2 experiences as well. I have sent an email to Jimmy John's and hope they get it seeing as Feedback was the only selection I found on the website to...
Read moreWe live in Middletown but had never been to the Jimmy John’s by our house. We had a coupon for a free sandwich so we got carry out for lunch on the way home from our daughter’s swim lesson. The cashier was friendly but it was clear that he was still being trained as he had to ask the manager for help a few times while keying in our order. The cashier also was unable to credit us the $1 on our rewards account, simply saying, “I hope that worked.”
The manager seemed upset to have customers and his tone with us and his coworkers was unfriendly at best. We asked about using the coupon on our order and he said it couldn’t be done without changing it from a combo meal. While that didn’t seem a big problem, it felt like it was too much hassle. It was $36 for two sandwiches with combos and a little John sandwich with chips. The price is one thing but the tone that we were met with by the manager was the main reason we won’t be returning.
As we left with our carry out, the cashier asked the manager, “Is something bothering you today?” We understand that people have bad days, and we were the only people in the restaurant when we ordered, but we felt like our order and presence were a burden today for the manager.
**I received a phone call from the manager within a couple of hours of our visit. She was very apologetic and concerned about our experience. I appreciate her communication and quick efforts to make it right. It was the training manager who we had the poor...
Read moreWhile I will always seek out a Jimmy John's over Subway or Mike's or any other sandwich making shop this location could do well with their staff acquiring training on manners, wrapping the food properly, attire in the store, keeping the drink station stopped as well as cleaned up, and how to legibly get through the orders when they are reading it off of the ticket to ensure that everything is in fact in the bag when they hand it to you and say that everything is in the bag that you ordered. The staff must be shorthanded or overworked due to summer hours or not enough help because every time I have gone in they are constantly sitting in the back on their phones complaining about how they're working double schedules and tired of it. And they look at you like they're surprised that you have an order in even though the ticket has been hanging there and you show up 20 minutes after the fact and your food is still not been made and they treat you like you should never have walked into their establishment in the first place. Due to living in the area this is the place that I go to pick up my food only because I choose Jimmy John's but the staff could use training and manners, food preparation and...
