I’ve been here a few times for birthday cakes and donuts, and every time I’ve been super happy with the flavors and presentation. I had them make my wedding cake and my husband and I were both super nervous as to how it would come out since we only had a few reference photos with our own explanation of how we wanted our cake and OH BOY, Did they knock it out of the park! My parents in law picked the cake up for us so we didn’t see it until a few hours before our ceremony and we were so ecstatic with how perfect it looked! And the taste! Just as perfect as our samples! (We did to go at home samples because of covid. Idk if this is still the process or not) we ordered gluten free as well since me and a few other family members have allergies with gluten and dairy so this was the PERFECT place to go. Other allergy friendly products taste off, but City Cakes makes me forget it’s vegan because it tastes so good. Overall, I would highly recommend them for your wedding/special occasion cakes. Make sure you’re communicating well as to what your vision is and they’ll make it happen and then some! I wish we could go back for our one year anniversary and get the same flavors in a cake but we moved out of state >__< . (And I’m totally missing them because our city doesn’t have any vegan bakeries. Closest ones are an hour away) so take full advantage while you can!

#CityCakes #FiveStarReview #Vegan #GlutenFree #Desserts I recently had the opportunity to try some of the vegan and gluten free desserts from City Cakes and was absolutely blown away by the quality. The vegan cheesecake in particular was amazing - it tasted just as rich and creamy as the traditional version, but without any dairy or gluten. The other desserts we tried were also top-notch, with bold flavors and perfectly balanced textures. It's clear that a lot of care and attention goes into each and every one of their creations. The only downside is that the price is a bit steep, but in my opinion, it's worth it for the high quality and care that goes into these desserts. Overall, I would give City Cakes a five star rating. If you're in need of some delicious and indulgent vegan and gluten free desserts, this is definitely the place to go.

I’ve been ordering cakes from City Cakes for years and I love them so much! They are my go-to bakery for dairy-free desserts since everything is vegan! In the past, I’ve asked for designs like polka dots or flowers, and they always do a great job. For this order, I decided to spice things up a bit and asked for a succulent design on this birthday cake. They went above and beyond my expectations - I couldn’t even have imagined the cake looking so good! The succulents were so cute and detail-oriented. I love that I just gave them a description of the design I wanted and they created something amazing and beautiful! This cake was chocolate cake with buttercream. The cake is so moist and the frosting doesn’t taste vegan. The peanut butter bars and cupcakes are also to die for!

Tonight my husband and I came into the store, with masks on, and waited to place our order. We were not wearing our masks over our noses but had our masks covering our mouths. I had let both employees know I was ready to order three times and a man behind the counter finally came over to fulfill our order. As I was letting the man behind the counter know what we wanted I had moved my mask outward a bit so my voice wasn’t muffled by my mask. This helps so I don’t have to repeat myself as I have experienced many times while ordering and I felt like the employees couldn’t hear me prior. As I was telling the man what I wanted I told him the last item I wanted (we had ordered 2 other items at this point) he curtly said “I’m going to ask you to stop touching your mask”. Which I was surprised by the response and tone he used but complied. He then proceeded to tell my husband and I that he “I would love to ask us to put our masks over our noses” in a sarcastic tone. That response made my husband very upset and confronted the man behind the counter who continued to be rude and argumentative. The other employee didn’t say a word to us about our masks when we walked in and was very kind and helpful when we completed our order. Neither of them said a word about our masks upon entering the store, only after I ordered our last item. I feel if it was that big of a problem both employees would have said something or asked us to leave which neither happened. My husband and I have our temperatures checked daily and would not enter a public place if we felt sick. Not to mention we are both immune compromised as I have an autoimmune disease and my husband is a cancer survivor. We felt perfectly fine being in a store for less than 5 minutes without our masks covering our noses because we have a right to. I’m very sad to write this review because I have had nothing but good experiences with this store. So much so that I had my wedding cake done by city cakes. I love supporting a local business but this experience makes me not want support this location if I will be treated like I’m sick when I’m not and shamed for how I’m...

I visited City Cakes because I learned that they made gluten free products. Being a Celiac, I'm always interested in finding new sources of GF products. I purchased a loaf of their GF bread, which was substantially larger then what's normally available from non-bakery sources, along with some rolls. In addition I purchased two lemon blueberry scones, a cinnamon roll, and a couple of double chocolate cookies. I'm use to paying a higher price for GF items, but was lucky to get the bread and rolls at half off (day old). Before buying anything, I asked about how the items were made and was informed that they made them in a separate location in their shop, and when placing them out in their displays, they had them located above the non-GF items. So I felt safe in making these purchases.

I'm sad to say that I was very disappointed in both the bread and rolls. While the bread was large enough to make a decent sandwich, it had no "chewiness" and lacked in salt. The rolls were the same way. Both items were a bit on the crumbly side, unlike other GF breads I've purchased. The cinnamon roll was very heavy, and also crumbly, but I enjoyed it after heating it up in the microwave. GF Cinnamon rolls are hard to find. It was also crumbly as were the two scones.

I realize that when one attempts to tackle the problems of making GF bakery goods there's a tendency to try and make that product available to people with other food allergies (dairy, eggs, Vegan, etc., which often results in products of poorer quality than one focused for a single purpose. It's cost effective. However, one thing that perhaps should be changed in the recipes is to add a bit more salt. It's nearly impossible to make baked items taste better by adding salt to them at home than when it's included in the baking. And perhaps finding a way to add a bit more chewiness to the products so when you go to eat them they don't crumble...

I am celiac and was so excited to find this bakery! It's a little bit off the main stretch of 7000, but was not difficult to find. We tried all sorts of goodies from there, so here's my honest opinion on everything that I ordered that was gluten free.

Peanut Butter cookie - 10/10 - This was by FAR the best thing we tried! 100% don't leave there without getting a peanut butter cookie, it was awesome! Muffin - 8/10 - This was pretty tasty. The flavor was on point. It was a bit dense, but most gluten free things are. I brought it home and microwaved it and ate it with a fork, and it was great! I wouldn't recommend for road food because it did have a tendency to crumble. Donuts - 9.5/10 - These were really good. They are small, but they are rich, so the size is 100% on point. They are a little dense, but the flavor bomb makes up for the dense texture. They did not fall apart at all and were very tasty! 100% recommend. Cupcakes - 9/10 - They did a great job with the cupcakes and were the perfect size and texture for a car treat! They were a bit small, but again perfect for travel. Cinnamon Rolls - 1/10 - The cinnamon rolls were really dense and the taste was disappointing. wah wah...I would recommend making your own at home on these ones.

Bottom line - I will 100% be a regular customer here. Almost everything we tried was excellent. This is a great place to go if you are tired of cooking everything at home GF. I felt safe getting food from here, and that made the experience worth every penny. Thank you for offering so many great gluten free options. Your business model is fantastic. I will be recommending you all...
