Salt Lake City Food: Hawaiian Cuisine - It's been 3 years since I came to Salt Lake, and this is my first time trying Hawaiian food. I thought it might not suit my Chinese palate, but I was blown away when I tried it. The ingredients were so fresh, especially the salmon—you could tell it was absolutely fresh from the first bite. There was also a miso soup, and having a sip after the meal felt so comforting 😌 Overall rating: 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Located in Midvale. #SaltLakeCityEats #HawaiianFood #FreshSalmon #MisoSoup #FoodieAdventures #MidvaleDining

Update June 27, 2020 The restaurant is now open to go in and order. Very fast and delicious as usually. (I remembered to take a picture this time. I got the pork and teriyaki chicken again. I guess I’m a creature of habit cause that’s what I always get. But also...too good to change. And how can you go wrong for $6.99?! April 2020 After a warm sunny day we were craving Hawaiian food. During the pandemic I found they are open so we ordered 3 mini meals. (Which are actually huge!) The service was great because they deliver right to your car. (I called in my order but you could also drive up and they come to your car and take your order or you can order online.) it’s like an old fashioned car hop. Everyone wears masks and keeps their distance. All that being said the food was delicious and it smelled so good on the way home I actually forgot to take a pic of the food but I WILL be back! We got teriyaki chicken, kalua pork and pulehu chicken and all 3 of us were thrilled. Note: if you want truly Hawaiian experience get the macaroni salad. It’s the perfect combo with the meat and rice.

There are two traditional Hawaiian dishes that stuck out from our honeymoon in Hawaii–Kalua pork and Loco Moco. When I saw MB served one of them (the pork), the nostalgic in me had to try it. I got the Mini and my husband the Regular. Like almost everything in Hawaii, ours came with rice + mac salad (his had more of each). Although we're not too keen on that carb:protein ratio (this grosses him out), the taste of the pork was very close to what I remember from our time on the islands. However, we saw that the price of the Regular is very close to that of an ENTIRE pork shoulder, which we can make on the smoker or slow cooker! Therefore, overall, I liked it enough to go back, but only if my employer or a client was paying, as I couldn't justify *paying so much for so little*. In all honesty, though, I'd rather make it ourselves or eat it in Hawaii, where the portions are much more generous. (Mo Bettah's invited my husband and me to participate in an online marketing campaign in exchange for a review.)

I have been ordering from this location for several years and have spent tons of money here. The food is always delicious. However, the last time I ordered food from there through Uber Eats-they did not include any of the 8 sauces I requested for our 3 entrees. We had 3 ekolus, $22 a piece. They also didn't have the cookies we requested and sent an extra drink with a note that said they were sorry about the cookies and sent a drink instead. I was very disappointed that we ordered all this food and received no sauces at all whatsoever. That's something that we really enjoy there and all this meat with no sauce is just silly. I called Mo Bettah's and told them we were missing all these things and the guy I spoke to on the phone asked me if I wanted the sauces refunded. Are you kidding me? I spent over $100 on this order and he wanted to reimburse maybe a few dollars. I said well, I spent over $100 and I think I need more than just a sauce reimbursement. So, he said he would tell the manager to give me two free mini meals the next time I came in and he would let the manager know. I had already given him my name and order information, so he said to just come in and tell them and they would know and take care of it. I called Mo Bettah's today to see if I was able to redeem my free food as promised. The manager told me that I would have to come in to take care of it so I drove all the way to West Jordan. The girl that greeted me was nice at first and asked what she could get me. When I asked her to talk to the manager, she was very unprofessional, threw her arms in the air and walked in the back to get her. I spoke to the manager, who was also very unprofessional and stated normally they would only replace the missing items, but she decided to be nice today and give me 2 free 2 entree meals. Um excuse me? Be nice today? Someone there didn't do their job to begin with and now I'm trying to redeem what I was specifically told by her employee. Is this really how you treat loyal customers?? Wow. How about you reimburse all the meals, the cookies, and my time for driving back over here and dealing with nonsense. I have worked in customer service for 20 years and I know that is not how you treat loyal customers. Horrible customer service and I will not be returning. What a joke. 0 stars for...

Visit on 12/16/2019 As I've grown older, I've become a creature of habit. Teriyaki chicken, and chicken katsu EVERY TIME. Love eating chicken katsu and mac salad together; best friends! Service is fast and friendly.

Visit on 12/14/2018 Ordered the mini-mix to-go, with teriyaki chicken, and tempura shrimp. It definitely hit the spot. Looking forward to going back for more teriyaki chicken, and chicken katsu!

Visit on 08/06/2018 Ordered the Mini-Mixed Plate with Teriyaki Chicken and Chicken Katsu. Both were tender and delicious! I appreciated the selection of sauces, especially that they had plenty of sriracha hot sauce. Great, quick service, and cool tunes playing overhead.

Visit on 05/12/2018 Arrived around 6pm on a Saturday and the place was hopping. The crew did a good job at getting orders through, and making sure I had everything I needed. And, as always, the island tunes made everything better.

I ordered the Mini Mixed Plate: Teriyaki Chicken, Kahlua Pork, white rice and side salad. The first bite of grilled teriyaki chicken says it all. ADDICTION. But in a good way. A very good way. I can already hear most of you agreeing with me. I also enjoyed the kahlua pork, all washed down with a beautiful Dr. Pepper. I can’t wait to eat the leftovers!

Visit on January 22nd. The first thing that struck me, about Mo' Bettah Steaks, was the happy attitude of the gentleman who served up my food, and the cashier who rang it up.

That said, I ordered a Mini Pulehu Steak plate, with macaroni salad and white rice. Plenty of steak, a good amount of their teriyaki sauce, made even better when I added Sriracha; REALLY good combo! The mac salad was flavorful and had great texture, while the rice was not overcooked or dry as a bone - just right.

Overall, it was a delicious meal, with great music playing on the overhead speakers and great service. Only improvement point: turn up the heater. It was a bit chilly in the dining room. Other than that,...

I usually leave good reviews, but I’ve never been so disappointed in service from a restaurant than I am today. This Mo Bettahs is a delicious family staple for our family of 6 when we can! I never spend less than 70/80 dollars here. I went in there tonight in a grateful mood, I received a little extra in my check and wanted a great dinner. I noticed some missionaries in front of me and decided to give back and buy their 3 meals. This was just something I wanted to do. No problem, I was happy to do it and they were so kind/grateful to me. I go to pay and of course my bill is almost a 100 and I ordered some delicious shrimp. Waited for them to cook and she gets it out and puts 4 pieces. I just said oh no, I wanted 3 orders of 2. So she had cooked that many, so they are sitting in the fryer basket as I’m waiting for her to help another customer, didn’t want to get in their way! She looked at the time pulled up my order and started asking how to do a refund, i corrected her and said oh no, I wanted additional not a refund. I was still happy and I made the side comment of, well ya know you could have just thrown those 2 pieces in here. Ha! And she looked at her register, said- “Ya, you’re right, I could have”. Then proceeded to ring me up and charge me for the 2 pieces. I honestly was a bit shocked to be honest. Not really the Ohana way! I wasn’t expecting it free, but after I just spent 100 dollars plus a tip - it has left me a feeling of disappointment. On top of everything else, she crinkled up my receipt! Not sure what I paid for! Get home and the order is wrong! And well left to be desirable! I won’t...
