The Rusty Nail Saloon — Restaurant in Midvale

This is a response to Jacee’s review and the owner’s response. Last weeks fight were NOT gang riots. There was one older guy named Dave, picking fights all night and claiming a gang. He was clearly too drunk and should have been cut off. But instead they took him to the patio only for him to pick a fight and punch my gay friend for no reason. This set off multiple fights. I was speaking to the owner earlier that night. She was nice and I did not get any racist vibes from her or the staff. But if she knew Dave, which I think she did because she called to him by name. She should have cut him off and avoided the situation. Later in the week we called because my wife lost a bracelet and whoever answered the phone was very rude and gave me a hard “I don’t know” when asked about the bracelet. I just left there. When I got there the bartender Shelise wanted me to leave my credit card behind the bar to keep my tab open. I’ve never had to do that and I told her to close it. Karaoke was great. We go to bar order drinks and the bartender shives my drink at me. My friend who’s Caucasian asked her why she did that and she said she is from phenix Arizona and she does that all the time. While she’s smirking at me. So I decide to leave and I tell my daughter who I was there with that I don’t stay where I’m not wanted, I abhor racists, bartender is following me out the door yelling, “what did you want me to do? Hold the shot glass to your mouth?” I ignore her and leave as I know she’s trying to provoke me. I’ve been frequenting the bar since it was previously owned and never had to face racism: I will not be retraining and will let all my brown friends/family know that it is...

Was a really positive experience at this bar! My husband and I went for a farewell gathering of a friend moving out of state and I really liked the setup of where to sit and gather. The bartender immediately greeted us and my husband tried out their raspberry mule and she made me a free mock tale since I mentioned I was the driver for the evening. A lot of bars I go to usually only have water as an option so I was pleasantly surprised by getting a delicious alternative! The drinks were on the affordable side compared to other bars too. The outdoor seating was comfortable and spacious. Jenga was a hit! They have multiple sets too so more people can play.
