2 Row Brewing does have a fantastic beer selection! I've had the elder berry blonde, their breakfast stout, and their house party malt liquor, and all were very good!
The breakfast stout floated a balance between creaminess, bitterness, and sweetness quite well. The malt liquor had some nice, fruity notes and went down sooth.
However, I can't rave about their food. Their pickle-loaded fried chicken Po Boy special was decent, but not impressive. There was nothing that really stood out from the chicken itself other than it was battered and fried. I am still salty that I paid $3 extra for a tater tots upgrade, and they were just plain SAD! They fell apart when you touched them, and they lacked crisp! My elementary school cafeteria made better tots.
It must be a quality issue because some buddies of mine have gotten tots on separate days that looked much better.
Speaking of paying $3 extra, 2 Row does not come cheap! The malt liquor, containing roughly the same amount of alcohol as 4 shots of 80 proof whiskey, ran me $7 plus tax! That is easily one of the best deal you will find here. One draft pint is $6, and one dish, including tax + tip, will easily cost over $20.
That said, if you like the draft they have as a special, then you will be getting a good deal as well.
Overall, 2 Row is a great choice if you are willing to put some green down for a couple good beers, but I'd pass on the food... For now! I might give the food a second shot later based on the...
Read moreThis brewery is phenomenal. It deserves a weekly visit with friends. I am loving the new menu. It is truly elevated. The fish and chips were so yummy. There was a little more breading then I like, but over all very good. When coming in this evening we were greeted by a gentleman that when trying to be friendly he responded with nothing. He has been the employee to check our IDs multiple times and is constantly always grumpy, and never friendly. Never actually talks to the actually customers, as a greeter. This is hard for me, because it's literally the first person I meet or see, when coming into this establishment. It is just so unpleasant and makes me feel so uncomfortable at place I come to to relax from the week. There's also an older waitress here that likes to sit at our table when taking out orders. That is definitely something that I am in love with. I definitely understand her intention, but it is not something that everyone loves. This bar is still one of my favorites. I continue to recommend this has a great place to hang with friends and they have AMAZING beer. Overall just feedback with this revision of the review. 2 Rows Brewery is still a great place for good food, beer...
Read moreInsanely disappointing. Been enjoying 2 Row beers for years but never checked out their brew pub. Stopped in today (Monday) in the early evening. Sat at the bar. Nobody acknowledged my existence for a solid 10 minutes. Had to flag down one of the six employees behind the bar to get a beer. Figured Iâd be offered a menu, nope. Finished my beer then sat for another 10 minutes with an empty glass before I flagged down a different random employee to ask for another beer and a menu. Sat with an empty glass and menu for almost 20 minutes, after that I just gave up. My intention was to have dinner and a couple of beers, that didnât happen. The most inattentive service Iâve ever had at any bar/restaurant in my life. I had to get up from the bar and stand in line where the servers wait for their drink tickets to be served so I could pay my tab and leave. It was weird. When they flipped the iPad around for a tip, I left nothing. First time I have ever left no tip in my life. Who am I tipping? The people...
