I had not eaten at Bricktown Brewery since the very first location opened, more than 20 years ago. Not that there was anything that kept me from going back, but for time and circumstances being what they were, back then. It was the first time I had ever had hand-crafted beer, and it was delicious.
I would like to preface this by saying that my wife and I are not big fans of Chain Restaurants. So, naturally dining at a place like Bricktown Brewery, now that they have expanded to 15 locations in four states, would not be our first thought when choosing a place to dine.
Upon recommendation from friends, my wife and I went to the Midwest City location, this last weekend, to give it a try. We were greeted promptly at the door and taken to a very nice booth, near the Brick Oven Pizza Kitchen. Our Servers' name was Jason, a nice fellow with very artistic arms. As our appetizer, we tried Bavarian Pretzel Sticks with White Queso. The pretzels were big, HOT, and fantastic! And I swear, I could have eaten the queso with a spoon. Yum!
We both ordered the Green Hatch Chili Chicken Sandwich, the wife had fries, I had their Homemade Chips. The sandwich was SO good, Grilled Chicken, Hatch Chili Relish, Tortilla Strips, Tomato, Arugula, and White Queso, on the softest Brioche bun. Good spiciness from the Relish, good crunch from the Tortilla Strips, and the Chicken was perfectly seasoned. The Hand-made Chips were lovely with just a hint of Salt and Pepper. I recommend this sandwich over any "Spicy Chicken" sandwich you're ever going to find.
So, here is where my review gets a little different;
Before writing this review, I wanted to make sure that this wasn't a one-off lucky strike for this restaurant so, we went back the NEXT day to try something different. This time, I wanted to try a Burger.
Now, before I get any further into this, I have to say a few words about the service. I do not believe that General Manager, Blake Lippert could have hired a better, friendly, attentive team of Servers. Each just as helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly as the next. Our Server, this time, was Madelyne. Everyone repeat after me "Ma-de-lyne". If you are lucky enough to have her for your Server, be careful, her mind is quicker than yours, guaranteed. I do love a Server that will play along, and Madelyne beat me at my own BS. Not enough room here to explain, sorry. She was on-the-spot with everything, service, attitude, and a smile that I can only describe as infectious. As for Mr. Lippert, he was probably out in the front-of-the-house, greeting every guest at their tables, as much as he was in back, assuring the quality of the food, which was DELICIOUS!!
This time around, we started again with the Bavarian Pretzels (and yes, I will order them every time I go in). I had the Bleu Ribbon Burger; Sweet Pepper Bacon, Deep Fried Onion, Buffalo Bleu Cheese Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, again on that wonderful Brioche bun. The contrast between the Bacon and the Sauce makes this burger. My wife had the Bacon Cheddar with that Sweet Peppered Bacon. She was full after eating half of it.
One thing that needs to be said here; I emphasize, BRICKTOWN BREWERY IS THE ONLY RESTAURANT IN THAT AREA THAT OFFERS A 25% MILITARY DISCOUNT! THE ONLY ONE!!! Surprising to me that there are at least six other restaurants, right across the freeway from Tinker AFB, and only one that makes the offer, and the only one that will ever get my business when I'm in...
Read moreUpdate: 5/27 came back while in town during the holiday weekend. Absolutely horrible service and experience. We waited in the dining room for over 30 minutes before deciding to just leave. I don’t know what happened to this place but will not return. We watched several other tables walk out as well. Slow service and food was taking forever from what everyone was saying. Headed over to Logan’s and they took excellent care of us.
Where do I even start.... first off this is a rave not a rant! Tonight, my family and I dined at the Midwest City location. My husband loves your Kolsch beer and your pizzas. He saw on Facebook that you were having a green beer Kolsch special today and said let’s go! It’s St. Patrick’s day and half priced pizza Wednesday. Couldn’t ask for a better special. We had Amber and a new trainee named Jake or Jacob tonight and they were amazing. Couldn’t of asked for better service and nicer people. The place was packed. We haven’t seen it this packed since before covid. The food was amazing and only had one small issue where my husband forgot to order cauliflower crust and the manager stopped by to tell my husband thank you for his service to our country and that Bricktown wants to recognize them for everything they have done for our country by offering a discount on his meal. We had seen the banners when we walked in and were shocked at the amazing discount. Such a great thing to do for our service men and women. Well, my husband told the GM Blake after he was done thanking him for his service that he screwed up and ordered the wrong pizza crust and Blake said “no big deal let me get it fixed for you!” Then he said you know what, I’m going to take care of it for you today and I hope to see you back in soon. New pizza came out and he delivered it personally. Such a great experience today and the staff is always amazing to us each time we are there. We did however get to watch an extremely rude customer chew Blake and Amber a new one. Just for being out of a few beers. I was shocked to see this mans reaction over a few beers that were out of stock this evening. Over hearing their conversation and watching them both try to De-escalate the man and his childlike behaviors and explain to the man that some of his suppliers were not able to get a few beers this week and offer to buy his food for the fact that he let the man down and the man still wouldn’t have it and stormed out like a child over a couple beers. It’s the middle of a pandemic sir! I was really shocked to see them both handle it with so much control and class. I would of lost it on the guy. My husband was literally about to get up and say something to the couple for their actions and how rude they were to your staff. My husband and my family love coming here and will always call Bricktown our hangout from here on especially after tonight’s wonderful experience. We will make sure to tell our friends about the amazing military discount and all the wonderful staff at Bricktown. Thanks for a wonderful St. Patrick’s day my family won’t ever forget....
Read moreNew place open in the area and heading out for a friends birthday. We had a party of 3 and were seated instantly. The table was a high top and the restaurant in general was hot... (Near the outdoor patio windows) is where we sat.... But hey it was 113° outside so I guess you get to deal with it right!?
Greeted by our server Drew who did an AMAZING JOB!!!! He let us take our time ordering so we place the appetizer order of nacho and drinks for the table. They came out in a timely manner and then we placed the dinner order. Order one was a turkey burger with sweet potato fries. Order two was to be **shared Bricktown chicken sandwich and fries. (Fries were piping hot just like I like) The entree orders arrive shortly after a minimal wait and we have a turkey burger with sweet potato fries and **2 Bricktown chicken sandwiches. We notify the order runner and she says it will get taken care of and it did. (Bonus that the other mistake gets boxed up for us) After being excited about the Bricktown chicken sandwich with that cheese....that bacon!!!! Oh wait a minute... neither of those were on the sandwich. Too hungry to send back to the kitchen we ate the chicken sandwich minus the item it was supposed to have on it... Best part is manager (Jason) that came out and nicely apologized for making 2 orders not one apparently didn't know bacon and cheese came on the sandwich. Not a big deal - however I know something was missing on my sandwich and probably would have made it better. I mean bacon and cheese on a sandwich always is a good thing right!?
The only reasons for 3 stars vs 5... because I wanted to give a 5 .... Temperature of our table location. Mistakes on the sandwich. Birthday girl wasn't too impressed.
Either way.... We have praise Drew and his awesome service! I get it mistakes happen... Worked in food service bar restaurant 8+ years. The host/service team should be...
