From the moment I stepped foot into the sleek, vibrant restaurant, I knew I was about to embark on a culinary experience that would far exceed any of my previous hot chicken encounters. The Chicken: Flavor, Heat, and Perfection in Every Bite
Now, to the heart of the matter: the chicken itself. Daveās Hot Chicken doesnāt just serve food; it offers an unforgettable, multi-sensory experience that will leave your taste buds dancing.
The star of the show is undeniably the fried chicken, which is an absolute masterpiece. Each tender piece of chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, while remaining juicy, succulent, and bursting with flavor on the inside. The coatingāgolden, light, and perfectly seasonedāhas the perfect balance of crunch and tenderness, providing an ideal texture contrast to the juicy meat. But itās the seasoning that truly sets Daveās apart.
For the brave, the āReaperā heat level is an adventure of its ownāintense, exhilarating, and without question, a true test of your spice tolerance. That being said, Daveās never sacrifices flavor for heat. The Reaper level, despite its fierceness, is laced with a deep, smoky richness that makes every single bite feel worth the fiery burn.
The chicken also comes with a variety of sides that perfectly complement the bold flavors. The mac and cheese is decadently creamy with just the right amount of sharpness, providing a welcome contrast to the heat of the chicken. The crinkle-cut friesāgolden and crispyāare a crowd-pleaser, served piping hot and lightly seasoned. And, the tangy, refreshing slaw offers a cool, crisp bite that balances the warmth of the chicken beautifully.
The Tenders: A Hidden Gem on the Menu
Though the classic spicy chicken sandwiches and tenders are the showstoppers, donāt overlook the āHot Chicken Tenders.ā Served in varying spice levels, these tenders are seasoned to perfection, with each bite revealing layers of deep, nuanced flavors that highlight the expertly balanced spice mix. The tenders are juicy, tender, and fried to an impeccable crisp, giving a satisfying crunch with each bite. If youāre in the mood for something less adventurous than the full sandwich but still want the full flavor impact, the tenders are an absolute must.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreTHEY DID WHAT!!?? I was so excited to try this place out!! I popped in on Thursday 4/17/25. The place looked great, the menu was easy to navigate, the girl taking my order was super friendly & helpful, and everyone around seemed to be enjoying their food..
SO WHY THE 1 ā??.... As I sat (admittedly way too excited) waiting for my food & people watching, I just happened to see a woman who was dinning in with another person walking up to the counter with 2 containers of food that she was served a few minutes before and had brought back to her table. I watched her bring the food back up because they had apparently given her the wrong order. Realizing their mistake they handed her the correct order. It's what happens next that totally crushed my excitement and made me want to puke... I watched as the 2 employees working the counter, without any hesitation at all, PUT THE RETURNED FOOD INTO A NEW BAG... And guess who's order it was... YUP mine!! Gross... Originally I just asked them to remake the order which they started doing but something else happened as I was waiting and it really pissed me off so I just asked for my money back. I talked to the manager about everything, she was very nice and apologetic offering to remake the food herself but honestly at that point I was just over Dave's HC. I wound up at Panera and it sucked...
Dear Dave's, I just gotta ask because I thought about this the whole drive home with my sucky Panera order, If your people don't know they can't serve returned food, what the hell else don't they know???
I think the universe is trying to tell me something ... I need to stop...

This was my second time trying Daveās. The chicken is good. Better than most of their competitorsā¦.but theyāre also more expensive than almost ALL of their competitors. The first time I ordered the 2 Sliders with fries (because the word āsliderā generally implies on the smallish side). Theyāre not sliders. Theyāre chicken sandwiches. As big as most other chainās sandwiches at least. So it was a big meal for lunch. But for $16 ā¦.with no drinkā¦..certainly not fast food prices. The fries are blah whatever crinkle cut frozen food section in the grocery store fries. Disappointing. So this time around I decided to try the the 4 mini sliders with fries for $11ish after tax. Seemed like maybe a better fit (and price). These were truly pathetic. About the size of a chicken McNugget on a micro roll with a pickleā¦..and basically just tossed in the box (see photo). They tasted OK ā¦.after I assembled them into actual slidersā¦.but hardly a filling meal for $11. The fries were, once again, fair at best. You can try the food for yourselfā¦.see what you thinkā¦.but you had better go soon. When you have to wait your entire 30 minute lunch break for them to make 4 chicken nuggets and a small friesā¦..they probably arenāt going to...
