The good….the bad….and the UGLY. This was my second time trying Dave’s. The chicken is good. Better than most of their competitors….but they’re also more expensive than almost ALL of their competitors. The first time I ordered the 2 Sliders with fries (because the word ā€œsliderā€ generally implies on the smallish side). They’re not sliders. They’re chicken sandwiches. As big as most other chain’s sandwiches at least. So it was a big meal for lunch. But for $16 ….with no drink…..certainly not fast food prices. The fries are blah whatever crinkle cut frozen food section in the grocery store fries. Disappointing. So this time around I decided to try the the 4 mini sliders with fries for $11ish after tax. Seemed like maybe a better fit (and price). These were truly pathetic. About the size of a chicken McNugget on a micro roll with a pickle…..and basically just tossed in the box (see photo). They tasted OK ….after I assembled them into actual sliders….but hardly a filling meal for $11. The fries were, once again, fair at best. You can try the food for yourself….see what you think….but you had better go soon. When you have to wait your entire 30 minute lunch break for them to make 4 chicken nuggets and a small fries…..they probably aren’t going to last long. 🫤

Very little to complain about here. Obviously, you know going in that theres a higher price point. ROI of quality is there. Were talking full chicken breast pieces, so this isn't pink slime and junk chicken. The sides were all delicious. The mac was that delicious hometown buffet style and the fries were top tier. Crinkle cut with a special season sprinkled generously on top. They paired well with the pink dipping sauce. My wife ordered the nugs.... but that's not why we're here. I got a meal with a slider (hot) and tendi (mild). The mild tends was as hot as average pizza place hot wings and the hot slider I found comparable to the Lebanese hot sauce you get at the hallah and gyro spots. Both were liberally rubbed and seasoned up, exploding with flavor. Every nook and cranny was packed with flavor. The slider came on a very small bun, like grocery store brand burger bun lol with 3 pickles and slaw, which I found to be too much. All that kept falling out. Thankfully, you get a piece of texas to make a sandi taco afterward with all the drippings. "Whatever this is, bring me 15 now on a plate."

This was my first time at Dave’s Hot Chicken. The atmosphere was inviting and a creative space. The restaurant had a good floor plan to sit down and dine at. The food selection was good as well. When it came to the food, they had plenty of options. I chose the number 3 that has the sandwich and single tender with fries. The chicken had great seasoning and a great crisp and crunch when biting into it. The fries were okay as well, especially when you add the Dave’s sauce on them. The sandwich came in a brioche bun. And the seasoning level I got was mild. When I compare it to Heaven Hot Chicken I would say that Dave’s is point above and that goes to the fact the chicken tasted more authentic and you can tell they brined it very well. The quality of everything was great and was not greasy at all. As for the price, everything was fair. I paid around 15-20$ for everything as I did not get a soft drink and opted for a water. All and all, the restaurant was clean and tidy with a show of futuristic-creative paintings. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. And the food was delicious.

I rarely find myself compelled to write a review with such fervor, but after my recent visit to the newly opened Dave’s Hot Chicken in Milford, I’m simply left in awe. From the moment I stepped foot into the sleek, vibrant restaurant, I knew I was about to embark on a culinary experience that would far exceed any of my previous hot chicken encounters. Let me take you through every meticulously crafted detail of why Dave’s is, without question, the new gold standard for Nashville-style hot chicken in the area.

The Chicken: Flavor, Heat, and Perfection in Every Bite

Now, to the heart of the matter: the chicken itself. Dave’s Hot Chicken doesn’t just serve food; it offers an unforgettable, multi-sensory experience that will leave your taste buds dancing.

The star of the show is undeniably the fried chicken, which is an absolute masterpiece. Each tender piece of chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside, while remaining juicy, succulent, and bursting with flavor on the inside. The coating—golden, light, and perfectly seasoned—has the perfect balance of crunch and tenderness, providing an ideal texture contrast to the juicy meat. But it’s the seasoning that truly sets Dave’s apart.

For the brave, the ā€œReaperā€ heat level is an adventure of its own—intense, exhilarating, and without question, a true test of your spice tolerance. That being said, Dave’s never sacrifices flavor for heat. The Reaper level, despite its fierceness, is laced with a deep, smoky richness that makes every single bite feel worth the fiery burn.

The chicken also comes with a variety of sides that perfectly complement the bold flavors. The mac and cheese is decadently creamy with just the right amount of sharpness, providing a welcome contrast to the heat of the chicken. The crinkle-cut fries—golden and crispy—are a crowd-pleaser, served piping hot and lightly seasoned. And, the tangy, refreshing slaw offers a cool, crisp bite that balances the warmth of the chicken beautifully.

The Tenders: A Hidden Gem on the Menu

Though the classic spicy chicken sandwiches and tenders are the showstoppers, don’t overlook the ā€œHot Chicken Tenders.ā€ Served in varying spice levels, these tenders are seasoned to perfection, with each bite revealing layers of deep, nuanced flavors that highlight the expertly balanced spice mix. The tenders are juicy, tender, and fried to an impeccable crisp, giving a satisfying crunch with each bite. If you’re in the mood for something less adventurous than the full sandwich but still want the full flavor impact, the tenders are an absolute must.

Final Thoughts: Dave’s Hot Chicken in Milford is a Revelation

In a world where Nashville-style hot chicken is becoming a fast-growing trend, Dave’s Hot Chicken in Milford emerges as a standout. With its perfect blend of flavor, heat, and hospitality, Dave’s doesn’t just serve food—it creates an experience. Whether you’re a local or someone visiting the area, a trip to Dave’s Hot Chicken is an absolute must. From the first bite to the last, this restaurant serves up not only the best hot chicken in Milford but also a culinary journey that will keep you coming back for more.

I can confidently say that Dave’s Hot Chicken in Milford is poised to be a staple in the local dining scene for years to come. If you haven’t been yet, what are you waiting for? You’re about to taste something...

THEY DID WHAT!!?? I was so excited to try this place out!! I popped in on Thursday 4/17/25. The place looked great, the menu was easy to navigate, the girl taking my order was super friendly & helpful, and everyone around seemed to be enjoying their food..

SO WHY THE 1 ⭐??.... As I sat (admittedly way too excited) waiting for my food & people watching, I just happened to see a woman who was dinning in with another person walking up to the counter with 2 containers of food that she was served a few minutes before and had brought back to her table. I watched her bring the food back up because they had apparently given her the wrong order. Realizing their mistake they handed her the correct order. It's what happens next that totally crushed my excitement and made me want to puke... I watched as the 2 employees working the counter, without any hesitation at all, PUT THE RETURNED FOOD INTO A NEW BAG... And guess who's order it was... YUP mine!! Gross... Originally I just asked them to remake the order which they started doing but something else happened as I was waiting and it really pissed me off so I just asked for my money back. I talked to the manager about everything, she was very nice and apologetic offering to remake the food herself but honestly at that point I was just over Dave's HC. I wound up at Panera and it sucked...

Dear Dave's, I just gotta ask because I thought about this the whole drive home with my sucky Panera order, If your people don't know they can't serve returned food, what the hell else don't they know???

I think the universe is trying to tell me something ... I need to stop...
