I Bought a suit for my husband on October 1. They did not have the pants for the suit in the store - So the sales person, Sandy, ordered them online. About seven days later they come in, and my husband goes up to get his suit tailored. Because we didn’t have the suit jacket with us, we didn’t realize that they were the wrong pants. That they did not match the jacket. This suit was supposed to be ready on October 21 for pick up. We have a wedding on October 25. Late afternoon, on 10/21 I received a call from Sandy, who originally helped us, that the wrong pants were ordered. I was surprised that nobody noticed that when the suit was sitting up there waiting to be tailored for two weeks. I guess my other surprised, if the suit is supposed to be ready on October 21 for pick up why I got a call at 3 PM on that date that there were the wrong pants , as they were supposed to be ready for pick up on Monday afternoon . I was told not to worry that they’ll be re-ordered and the correct pants will be in on Tuesday afternoon. Of course Tuesday afternoon comes in the pants are not in. I am told by another sales associate, Robin, who is fabulous that they would be in on Wednesday. I go in on Wednesday they are there and fortunately with enough time for the tailor to make the alterations. When I called to inquire about my suit, Sandy answered the phone. I told her how upset I was that this caused so much havoc. And why no one noticed this prior, since the suit was up there for two weeks. She got annoyed with me and hung up the phone. I called back and and she said I hung up with the phone on you I’m not talking to you. I asked to talk to a manager she would not give me a manager’s name. When I went to go pick up the suit there was a bride and groom in there also having issues. Sandy’s attitude was disrespectful, rude and not the customer service I would expect from Joseph a Banks. I’m not sure I’ve ever had a customer service person hang up on me and be so rude. Needless to say I will never shop there again nor will my husband or my 23-year-old son. I’ll be sure to tell everybody that I’m associated with how Horrible the service was. Which was a shame because in the past I’ve gone there and the sales people have always been wonderful. What was originally a pleasant experience turned out to be a nightmare. And unfortunately this seems to be the service that Joseph...
Read moreOverall experience was disappointing to say the least. When I first got sized for my rental suit, the computer system was down and had to wait an extensive amount of time for them to get the system up and running to enter my sizing. The suit did arrive on time and was sized somewhat well, but when I put the suit on for wedding day, it was discovered that the left buckle for the suspenders was broken and was pinned in place by a safety pin. Yes, Jos A Bank sent me suspenders with a safety pin in the place of a buckle. It should be noted the buckle was silver and very noticeable against the black suspenders. The photographer instantly noticed the difference without me saying a word. This somewhat minor detail ruined wedding photographs we hoped to take. Unacceptable.
When I went to return the suit the computers were again down. I waited for over an hour and they still did not work. I finally asked the manager if I could leave the suit and he could complete the return whenever the computers came back up. He took down my credit card information and assured me I would be issued a small refund. (A nice gesture, but the 25 dollars is not even close to covering the inconvenience caused). Well it’s not been over two weeks and I’ve received no refund.
If I could give zero stars I would. I will not be returning...
Read moreWorst experience I've ever had renting a suit. Overpriced and customer service was horrendous. I was in 3 weddings this summer, thankfully only one was through JOS. Went to go pick up my suit and A) they never contacted me so I call right before the wedding and got a "oh yea, it's here." B) When I get there and try it on, the pants are too short...I get a "yea you're right" from the sales girls promptly followed by a "no that's how they are wearing them now" from the floor associate. I go with his judgement. I get laughed at as a groomsmen at the wedding. To make matters worse both the best man AND father of the groom had issues with their suits needing alterations and days later (a day before the wedding) it still was not done. When I told them all this upon return the clown at the counter simply said.."sorry, wish there was something I could do". Well there is something you all can do...never...
