Usually my family and I go to the Salata at Halcyon on the weekend. We have eaten there numerous times and never had a problem until we were served by Andy Ming (if thatâs even his real name). We were going to order three large bowls and one small bowl. My aunt and cousin began ordering their salad and Andy began to give them a hard time about the amount of lettuce they wanted. He started telling us that we canât order as much food as we were getting and that we should be paying for two orders instead of one. Weâve been to three different locations and never had someone tell us that we needed to pay more for the amount of lettuce that we usually get. Numerous employees and three different locations and weâve never had a problem until today. As time went on Andy began to raise his voice and started saying, âYouâre trying to get the food for freeâ when he hadnât even rung the food up yet. Andy also called us liars and said, âYou people should eat somewhere else.â Another customer overheard the dialogue and got involved. She confronted him for being racist and exceptionally rude. Andy then told us he was refusing to carry out our order and that he was putting our salads in the trash. After that, we decided we would leave and just file a complaint. He also said, âYou can leave tooâ to the woman that got involved. Also, before Andy started serving us, he started talking about this place (Salata) sucks and itâs like working at a Dollar General. He said that he hated the job and he was the only employee at the restaurant at the time. Itâs very sad that instead of selling five people salad and making a profit, he wanted to argue us down and refuse to provide service. This Salata is usually great. The other employees are friendly but Andy Ming is the last person that needs to be working at a restaurant. Oh, one more thing. Andy refused to give us the name or number of his manager and then said, âI donât know who my manager is.â đ
Edited Review: The manager of the Salata at Halcyon is very polite and compensated my family and I for the problem we had with Andy Ming. As I said earlier, this is usually a great location and the staff...

Taste-wise, the chipotle chicken and baked salmon weren't bad (decent seasoning), but they were cold and lifeless. Both seemed to have been about a day old. Perhaps if they offered to heat up the protein that might've solved that. The "tea-bar" was disappointing: each flavor was either very watered down (0 calorie options) or way too sugary sweet. I wouldn't recommend getting a cup for the "tea-bar": it just wasn't worth it. Now for the major gripes... There were no staff paying attention to the front: my party and I waited for around 10 minutes until someone came out to start our order. The tables throughout the store were not cleaned or even wiped down: there were various food and water remains on each table inside the store, even though we were the only customers. Another odd point was that there seemed to be a bug zapper/lantern in the middle of the indoor seating area: that's a first for me.
Overall, good salad-focused eatery, but they need to focus on cleanliness and customer attention. I'm willing to let the protein "lifelessness" pass as there's difficulty with having a cold salad with a warm or hot protein, but maybe offer that as an option...
Read moreMy first visit to this location was a memorable one, thanks to Shannon. Normally, I go somewhere else, but from the moment I walked in, Shannon greeted me with the warmest smile, instantly making me feel at ease. Her welcoming energy, combined with her knowledge and genuine engagement, truly made a difference, especially on a heavy day like today.
People often overlook how something as simple as a salad can impact our mood and energy, but the care Shannon put into her service elevated my entire experience. I am grateful to have found this location, and I believe Shannon deserves special recognition. Her positive energy and dedication are exactly what we need more of in customer service. Sheâd make an exceptional manager or even a district manager! This is my first Google review. Iâve never done them before but because she was so great at her service. I wanted to make sure that I...
