While most famous for its delicious coffee, Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co., nestled in Walker's Point, also deserves its flowers for being a fantastic wedding venue! With its iconic Milwaukee cream city brick, this converted warehouse strikes the perfect balance between industrial character and modern warmth, where rich wood tones meet cool Milwaukee industrial vibes. As a venue, Anodyne offers an inviting, realized space that's become known throughout Milwaukee for its distinctive charm. The roastery creates an ideal atmosphere for mingling, dancing, and feasting, making it a wonderful place to host weddings and special events. As a wedding photographer, my first take on a space is always what it offers for photography - and everything about Anodyne's vibes are incredible - Cream city brick inside and out, warm edison bulbs and wood beams, iconic printed sign on the outside, Walker's point alley's and Ivy walls, and great views of the sunset all make it a dream for couple portraits and candids. The venue coordinator, Erica, is fantastic to work with, ensuring events flow seamlessly throughout the warm ambiance of the building's wood and brick elements. For photographers and aesthetes alike, the surrounding area offers picturesque ivy walls and that famous cream city brick that captures Milwaukee's architectural heritage. For couples seeking a venue with character, Anodyne Coffee Roasters delivers a perfect blend of industrial-chic style and inviting atmosphere—an ideal backdrop for intimate ceremonies and lively celebrations.

Anodyne ended up being the perfect wedding venue for us. The rustic meets modern downtown coffee shop vibes were just what we were looking for. Let me tell you, this place is nice during the day, but at night this place comes alive with the string lights, moody mirrors, and classic radio wall. My husband and I took moments throughout the night to just around and admire the dreaminess of the venue. We received so many compliments about the bartenders and the venue coordinator Erica. The bartenders were super friendly and fast, and one of them even told us at the end of the night how much fun they had too! Erica was AMAZING to work with throughout the year and a half of planning. From the very first email to the last goodbye at the end of the wedding, she was the reason that everything ran so smoothly. We had multiple meetings with her leading up to the wedding, and she was helpful and accommodating every time. She told us that her goal was for us to enjoy our day and not sweat the small things, and that's exactly what she did! We held the ceremony and the reception there, and the transition after the ceremony was seamless and took less than ten minutes. Erica and her staff also set up all of our decor. We left the decor with her the day before the wedding, and when we walked up the stairs into Anodyne everything was set up the way we imagined it. No, better than we imagined! They went above and beyond, and we would highly recommend Anodyne if you're getting married...

I am a frequent customer when traveling for business to Milwaukee. This was unfortunately the worst service and food quality I’ve ever experienced at a coffee shop. Two female employees were working at the time. When I asked what their specialty coffee was, I was told bluntly, “We only have two kinds of coffee.” When I asked about savory breakfast options, I was directed to “read the board.”

We were dining in, yet one coffee was served in a mug while the other came in a to-go cup, with no explanation. The coffee in a mug came with a nasty dusty saucer. When we mentioned that napkins and forks were out, we were told to “check again,” and even later, they still weren’t restocked for other customers.

My $11 ham, egg, and cheese sandwich tasted like a microwaved frozen item. The egg had a paste-like texture, and I couldn’t find any cheese in it at all. When I asked about it, one of the staff didn’t even look up and just said, “We just heat it up. The cheese is probably spread on the bread.” When I explained there was no cheese at all, she brushed me off and said, “It is what it is.”

The dismissive and unprofessional attitude from the staff was really disappointing. I hope management sees this and addresses the service and food quality.

We will take our business to well deserved coffee shops in Milwaukee.

Date and time of service:...
