2022.05.22 — Had a great lunch at Rice N Roll Bistro. It has a limited space inside. The sushi bar has stools and purse hangars which is nice. Nice modern decor inside. Our group ordered the spicy edamame, miso soup, seaweed salad, and house salad with ginger dressing. All of which were delicious. Particularly fond of the spicy edamame myself. No surprises with the starters and all tasty. We ordered a nice big plate of sushi rolls. Had a spicy tuna and rainbow roll as basic go to’s. Good fresh tasty ingredients. The real fun was the signature rolls. Ordered the Dragon, East Town Monster, Dancing on the Moon, and Lake Front signature rolls as the main treats. My personal favorite was the Dragon roll. The shrimp tempura middle gives good texture and crunch. Decided to finish with some deserts. Chocolate mousse cake and the seasonal mango sticky rice. Between the small space, courteous staff, modern decor and the great sushi it’s a great place for your favorite Asian cuisine. Give it a try. You will find a new favorite sushi place for your friends and...

I wasn't impressed with the food. The crab rangoons were weird, and the crab meat tasted old. Not inedible, but not particularly enjoyable either. Same with the crab in the Classy Cali roll. Some of the sashimi I had was alright, but the super white tuna was awful. Very clearly frozen and also tasted like it was about to go bad. I did enjoy the spicy tuna roll - I like that they don't use spicy mayo in it. And the tom kha was good. The wasabi, though, was soooo weak lol like I know sushi places hardly ever use real wasabi but this didn't even taste like fake wasabi. It was just a grainy, green, flavorless paste. I should be calling an ambulance after putting this much wasabi on a sushi roll. It was literally like 1/3 of the wad they served me in this photo lol but my mouth wasn't even burning afterwards. Also, one of the pairs of chopsticks they gave us was rotting. Which I guess is not necessarily their fault, but it was still an off-putting way to start the meal. And less forgivable with all other things considered. I received prompt and...

Great surprise right in our own back yard!

I was visiting family in Milwaukee and while we took a stroll around the neighborhood, we stumbled upon this place for lunch.

The place is light, clean on the inside and pretty inviting.

The menu is Asian-fusion, options for for rolls of sushi/sashimi and thai dishes.

For our party of four, we ordered two different curries and the drunken noodle dish to share. We ordered medium spice levels on all the dishes - which is a nice balance to begin with before adding your own spice as you wish.

The dishes were delicious and the portions were plentiful! The broth for the curry as well developed and pretty hearty! The spice level was perfect and it definitely hit the spot.

The noodle dish was just as hearty, and I liked the balance between the veggies, tofu, and noodles. Nothing was too much and more than shareable for two people.

The service was quick and attentive and gave helpful feedback on menu questions. We left with our bellies full and taste buds satiated - a great find!

Looking forward to...

This was a solid 4 stars. Could have been 5. We got a table right away. The hostess and server were friendly, and helpful. Not sure if it was a staffing issue, but our service was really spotty. Sometimes it was prompt and other times we had long waits, like the time between getting our drinks, and placing our orders. At the end of the meal, I had to approach the hostess to pay our bill. We had several questions and the service did a great job to help understand some of the specialty rolls. We ended up getting several appetizers including, Crispy Calamari, Pot Stickers, and Sashimi. Then we had a Specialty Roll, Mega Salmon. Liked everything with the exception of the Calamari, heavily breaded/battered, and tasted more like onion rings that octopus. Everything else was the right temperatures and tasty. Good place if you need a quick meal, but it's not on my A List for Sushi/Asian.
