I recently dined at stone bowl, and while the food was good, the rest of the experience was absolutely terrible. The service was non-existent—no one bothered to check on us, and we had to flag someone down every single time we needed anything, including basic refills. What really set me off was the behavior of a short Asian man, who I’m assuming was the owner. He spent the entire time chatting with other tables, especially older customers, but completely ignored ours. He walked past our table multiple times, saw our empty water glasses, and didn’t lift a finger and just went on to grab his tip which was behind our table, and then after continued to talk to the table next to us . It was as if he decided we weren’t worth his time, likely because we’re younger and he assumed we wouldn’t tip as well. The favoritism was blatant, rude, and downright unprofessional. To make matters worse, the TVs were playing completely inappropriate content for a restaurant setting(two man whom were on top of each other) (MANY SCENES OF IT BTW) . It was awkward and uncomfortable, making it impossible to enjoy what could have been a decent meal because Everytime we turned our head they were touching eachother inappropriately or doing some unquestionable things. While the food itself was good, the horrible service, the dismissive and discriminatory attitude of the man I assume is the owner, and the uncomfortable environment made this a restaurant I’ll never return to. If you’re young or just looking for a pleasant dining experience, do yourself a favor and skip this place.

Stone bowl has always been on my list especially after trying a few other Korean restaurants in town, Maru, Char’d and merge(which is now closed). When I walked in, the waiter was sitting down at a distance from me with a straight face, I said a table for two to break the silence. The restaurant was half empty. The interior was quite dark so I wanted to sit at the booth near the windows, but the waiter said they were saving the table for larger groups. Which was reasonable, but he looked as if I owed him money. My friend arrived a few minutes later. Banchans were served, the flavors were quite standard, but one of the pickled vegetables tasted a little old. We ordered bibimbap with tofu and barbecue pork belly. The tofus on the bibimbap came as if they were cut straight from a box, shining, white with no seasoning. Maybe I shouldn’t have expected them to be pan fried or marinated in some way. I was slightly disappointed that the egg is fully cooked, because I usually preferred the yolk to be a little runny. Without the sauce the dish would be absolutely bland. I should give them credit that the stone bowl was heated properly and the rice was charred on the bottom. When we were about to leave the restaurant, there were still a few empty booths… Overall, the food wasn’t terrible but wasn’t great either. Given the overall experience, I would choose other options in town.

I always enjoy stopping by Stone Bowl for solid Korean food. My mom got a noodle soup, my dad got steak bulgogi, and I got one of the single serving pork barbecue dishes. The barbecue comes with small appetizer dishes thats typical with it. If you want to know what arrived first, it went: noodles > barbecue > Tteokbokki (rice cakes) > bulgogi. Serving sizes are huge so if you plan on getting a regular portion size or getting a variety of food, plan on splitting one of the single serving barbecue dishes. Also let your server know if you can't handle spicy foods and they will make it mild for you. The chef made our tteokbokki very mild, actually kinda sweet which was the perfect spiciness level for me😅 (my dad said it was kinda spicy, but me & my mom said mild). Food was delicious for everyone😋 We took some food home since there was a lot leftover! The street parking is always hit or miss depending on how busy it is or if it's near dinner time. There was no wait for a table around 2pm on Sunday. Service was really good! Our server was really nice & humored my dad who had a bunch of old dad jokes. There's also soft kpop music in the background of the restaurant. Staff were wearing masks & the place seemed really clean. The only minor negative would be that there were a few drinks and desserts unavailable, but it was nice to eat out again here!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Food - Don't mean to be so rude about it, but been here 3 times. Order about the same thing everytime I eat here and it never the same. Seen people post the same food as mine and I still don't get the same thing they do. Something alway missing. Please keep the food consistent please, if possible.

Server - Our server was fairly nice. He refilled waters everytime our water was done, and asked if we had any questions and etc.. Super good! Give him 10/10!

Tipped - I'm a server myself, so I know how it is like not getting tip good after being super nice and dealing with things, so after eating, we left a $15 tip for the 2 of us. ON THE TABLE. I thought he was a really good server and he really politely and knew what he was doing. I went to pay for my tab with my card and as I signed the receipt & waited on my copy of the receipt, I suppose the manager, who was checking us out, notice I didn't leave any tip on the receipt, so he blurted out "oh you have to tip?!" I had mention I had tipped $15 at the table already for the two of us! And he point to the other person that was with me and said "tip!" How rude, I didn't want to make it a bigger scene then it was already so left a $5 tip on the recipt for him. In total that was $20 tip! Wow!

Never in my life had I ever been force to leave more tips. And coming from a server I only get paid $3/hrly so I know how it feels not getting a tip. But I don't go around mentioning to people to leave a tip. I want a fun and exciting experience for everyone and always want a welcoming back experience, not "oh she force me to leave a tip, I'm never coming back" experience. So would I recommend this to people? No. Would I come back for a 4th chance? No. Also did read in the comments below that this wasn't the first time too! I think the servers has more manner than the manager...

This eatery has terrible staff. My younger brother and I love to eat Korean BBQ for all the flavors and sides. So we start off with this waitress who greets us but sits us at a small table right next to the only other person in the restaurant. Kinda weird, so I ask for another spot. She declines me twice and sets the menus at the same spot. No biggie we sit and begin to browse. We order a bunch for 2, pot stickers, Bulgogi, etc. We're receiving our dishes and sure enough we get over crowded with all the sides and move over the table next to us because this restaurant is empty and we warned the server about this issue. We begin eating and not one but 2 servers start to aggressively asking us why we did that. I told them multiple times by this point that the table can't hold all our dishes. The 2 waitresses become outrageously mad at this point, stating we don't own the table. I apologize and move the table back. I cannot stress the amount of attitude and rude behavior the waitresses continue to carry, making rude comments, coughing on us, and telling us if we don't like it we can leave. All before we can get halfway through our meal. They bring up the incident not 3 mins later and I tell them that if we were to leave we weren't paying because we haven't finished even half of the food. They exclaim that we do need to pay and I reassure them that moving the table without permission was a mistake, but the way they were treating us was very unnecessary. To which they continued be rude and continued coughing. We received no service the entire meal (not surprising) but the bulgogi wasn’t terrible. We tip the only worker that didn't cough while passing us and leave. To which the waitresses continued to yell obscenities as we left. We didn't ask for management for obvious reasons that this place is...

What an interesting experience. I show up at 1155pm and say table for two. Clearly I am meeting someone at noon. They made me wait at the front until my party arrived. I said I would like to be seated now, I'm here, I'd life coffee and maybe a beverage, and would like to review my notes for a few min. They said "we cannot accommodate that as your party is not here." The restaurant was totally empty. Not a single customer present at noon. I asked what could go wrong by seating me five min early since all single spaces is the same size as two person and they said it's the policy. Then I said I would like to change it to a party of one and maybe someone joins me and maybe not and they said that they cannot accommodate. I was a paying customer willing to buy more and my feet were hurting and I wanted to be seated 5 min early. The restaurant was dead. So, here is what they accomplished. I've been there at least 50 times before and planned for another 50 visits over the next several years. I won't be back again. And I will even go as far as to let many business professionals who respect me know that they not dare have a meeting their because if they show up and want to get settled early, they will be made to wait at the front of an empty suffering dying reastuant. The food is good and that's why the 2 stars. But for the idiot talking policies with me in a dead, come on man. You have big restaurant, filled restaurant policies but the truth is that it's dead. I was their from 12pm to 1115pm and maybe three tables of 20. So now you lost a customer and all those I speak to and warn them not to do business here. I've been to literally thousands of restaurants and I find it laughable that you'd have crowd control policies in place when no...
