The room was beautiful—modern, spacious, and very comfortable. It felt like I was staying in a modern studio apartment. The strong air conditioning and ceiling fan made the space feel extra relaxing, and the overall design was fresh and stylish. Beyond the room, the hotel itself had history and personality; the art throughout the property was striking and gave the space a true nostalgic feel that set it apart from more generic hotels. ||||That said, a few details in the room could use more attention. The cabling hanging down from beneath the TV was noticeable and an easy fix that would improve the polished appearance. They should use in-wall kits to hide that sloppy cabling or even just use plastic pieces that are painted the same color as the walls. Similarly, the artwork in the room itself was off-center and slightly wobbly—another small issue that takes away from an otherwise carefully designed environment. With such beautiful touches throughout the hotel, ensuring the in-room artwork is straight and secure should definitely be taken into consideration. ||||I also appreciated the inclusion of the kitchen, equipped with a full-size refrigerator, but it absoutely feels like a missed opportunity. Only two small complimentary water bottles were provided. Stocking larger bottled waters, (both sparkling and still waters), or a few soft drinks (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Ginger Ale, etc.) would be a thoughtful upgrade for guests and an easy upselling opportunity for the hotel.||||The only significant challenge during my stay was with service. I checked into my room around 4:00 PM without issue. Around 5:00 PM, I called to request additional pillows, towels, and shampoo. By 6:00 PM, nothing had arrived, so I called again. The staff member I spoke with was pleasant and assured me the items would be placed in the room while I was out for the evening. When I returned from a concert around 11:30 PM, however, nothing had been delivered. My third call, close to midnight, was answered by a different staff member who seemed extremely irritated and mentioned how busy the evening had been with check-ins. While I understood the workload, the interaction felt unprofessional and unhinged. About 40 minutes later, the items did arrive, though not in the requested quantity. He was very grumpy; not someone you'd want to represent the face of your brand.||||The next morning, at checkout, the experience improved significantly. The front desk associate who asked about my stay was professional, warm, and apologetic. She listened attentively and then offered a complimentary breakfast voucher for the hotel café, which I appreciated. ||||Overall, this hotel has so much potential. The room was beautiful and comfortable, the artwork and nostalgic personality of the property bring unique character, and much of the staff showed great hospitality. With more consistency in service and better attention to simple details—like hidden cabling, straightened artwork, and in-room beverage options for purchase—this hotel could absolutely deliver a...
Read moreI stayed here for two nights on a business to find out that this location is nothing more than an upscale hostel.
Lobby - when I came to check in my colleague went to one person standing at the desk, and the other person checking in people was talking to an employee and ignored me for five minutes. During my stay I had a major problem with the shower and lodged a complaint with them down at the front desk the next morning. When I got home after a long day at work the front desk didn’t know if the repair happened or not. I soon came to find out that the issue wasn’t taken care of. I don’t think they have any maintenance people on site. The lobby looks very nice and well decorated although you can see it’s becoming worn.
Restaurant - In the restaurant were I had breakfast was nice was and good quality. But that’s where the goodness ends.
Room- They give you two sets of keys one open the door into the hotel, and one for your room. The rooms are outdated, but the beds seen updated recently and many things are Mickey Mouse in your accommodation. For example the TV is not properly wired and is plugged in right over at sink, I’m sure a violation. I was there during the winter time and the room is heated by an old-fashioned pressure radiator, so you cannot control the heat. Luckily one of the windows was not painted shut so I was able to open that to get some sort of breeze. Behind the radiator, there were some weird bugs.
Bathroom - sink is tiny and it’s really beat up, the toilet is small and the bathtub is old and worn and don’t even get me started on the water pressure. There was something wrong with the diverter in the shower. When you took a shower all the cold water came out of the showerhead and the hot water came out of the Spicket and would burn your feet.
Kitchen – the kitchen has a different flooring them the regular main room compared to the bathroom. Everything was tucked away, so if you wanted to use a torch and have to pull it out and plug it in, which there was lack of a plugs in the kitchen area. There was a full set of dishes forks knives etc. everything you need to cook there, but there was no dish soap. It makes me wonder how room service goes about cleaning utensils and plates – yuck!
I’m not sure were all these positive reviews came from, but believe me this is...
Read moreI stayed two nights for a wedding. I loved the historical charm of the building. Every room was like it's own little apartment with a fully stocked kitchenette including a oven, stove top, and refrigerator. Every room had AC that stood up to the August heat. The concierge was very polite and personable with a kind word whenever we passed by no matter the hour. I didn't get a chance to eat breakfast in the lobby cafe but the rest of my party enjoyed it. We booked five rooms in total and every room had a slightly different layout. I was in room 201 which had an open kitchen/bedroom floor plan and an second extra tall closet that was perfect for hanging long dresses in. Other rooms had seperate kitchen/bedrooms, single doublewide closets, or vanity areas to do your makeup. The room had a Kuerig coffee maker was easy to use and the front desk offered to bring me more pods when I asked if dark roast was available. There were only a few minor misses: no elevator, no pool, and shower water temperature spikes. All of these are part of being a historic building however and did not bother me personally. When we arrived and found out there was no elevator we realized we would need a different room for one person who would have difficulty with stairs. The concierge accommodated moving their room from the second to first floor with no problem. They also accommodated my midnight check in without problem. The only thing it truly missed was having a pen so I could fill out their feedback card on my nightstand 10/10. I will definitely stay again should I find myself...
