Been going here when it was Hales for years, and many times since Biscuits took over. Have been at this location at least 15-20 times as Biscuits, since it is geographically convenient for my friends to meet up.
Our thoughts? They are SUPER inconsistent. Sometimes eggs and other items come out hot and fresh, but more often than not they are luke warm at best. I actually stopped ordering scrambled eggs entirely because every single time they were cold. Like, sitting out for an hour or two cold. It was pathetic!
Worse, maybe every week or four you get good service, but most of the time you get a waiter/waitress that shows up for the order, and then not again for 30-40 minutes. It is the worst service ever, and we are not picky!
Last time we were there, we arrived at 11:30am on the dot, and it took literally 45 minutes from being seated to ordering and receiving our food, which was not complex or special in any way. It was all breakfast stuff that takes maybe 7-10 min to cook at most! The prior time it was almost as bad.
And after all that wait, the food we received was poor to mediocre at best! The hash browns were burned orange/red, and tasted like caramelized cooking spray. (The horrible taste you get when you overcook things on your stove. It was disgusting.) My friends' over easy eggs were anything but over easy, and his hash browns were just as ruined.
We also have had the same terrible level of quality AND service at the Johnson Creek location. Actually worse, as a matter of fact.
Bottom line, I cannot recommend this restaurant or their chain at all. While you may get lucky, and 30-50 percent of the time your food will be good and delivered on time, 50-70 percent of the time it will be slow, cold, or otherwise gross. They should be ashamed...
Read moreI'd been to two Biscuits Cafes elsewhere and so expected a similar experience. No luck. The restaurant lacks the charm of the others I'd visited, and it was not very clean. We were greeted and seated promptly and the hostess was quite friendly. The waitress was friendly as well but did not check on us during our meal and when she brought the bill just slapped it down on the table and walked away.
My daughter ordered french toast with mixed berries. The berries were frozen and made the french toast cold, and they were bitter which ultimately made the meal inedible. When the waitress brought the bill she looked at my daughter's plate with berries pushed to one side and half-eaten french toast and didn't say a word. A good waitress would have asked if there was a problem. Clearly she didn't care, and she was gone before we could even bring it up.
We went to pay the bill and the cashier didn't ask how the food was so we told her. Clearly she also didn't care and became quite defensive, blaming the supplier of the berries, and told us the berries were frozen not fresh and there was nothing they could do about that and if we didn't want bitter or frozen fruit we should have the strawberries which were fresh. Huh? You're aware this is a problem yet you still serve the bitter berries? And how does any of this relate to good customer service? At the very least she should have apologized for the disappointing experience but instead blamed us for choosing crappy food off of their menu. Very confusing.
Had the customer service been better we'd give the place a second chance, but this all just adds up to too...
Read moreI really want to like this Biscuits Cafe. They have a decent setting and it looks like they were on full staff but the kitchen was overwhelmed with a backlog of orders. I wanted a better experience from my last visit so I called in an order to go being it was Saturday mid morning. They said to give them 35 to 40 minutes as they were very busy. When I arrived 35 minutes later they said it would be a few more minutes. I was fine and let them know I would wait outside in the bench. The first couple that left crossing by my path said "That's he last time we are coming here." I remembered that feeling from my previous visit. I saw a lot of wait staff hanging around the kitchen pick up area hoping to get orders out rather than helping bus tables that sat around dirty. I think that it is just mismanaged or they need to size down the number of tables. They can't even begin to keep up. It was over an hour from my ordering when I got my food and left. The food tastes fine. This location is just not quite running in top shape. Compared to the Gresham location that hums at full speed never giving you the impression they are drowning. The staff seems a little unseasoned for the traffic. I still am rooting for this location. It is close to my house and I like the menu. I'll wait a while and give them...
