Tan's Happy Kitchen — Restaurant in Milwaukie

This place is a hidden gem. We ordered 2 combination meals, 1 with General Tso's chicken and green bean chicken and 1 with General Tso's chicken and broccoli beef (we really like General Tso's chicken). Thankfully, this place continued our love of this sweet fried chicken dish. The chicken was tender white meat, lightly battered yet still crispy with a tangy and slightly spicy sauce. Absolutely delicious. The green beans and the broccoli were perfeclly cooked and the portions were incredibly generous (we're taking leftovers for lunch tomorrow). The mexican cart next door is definitely the biggest draw for this small food cart pod and rightfully so because they have great food. But if you're in the mood for Chinese, this place is on point! This is my favorite Chinese food in all of Portland! When you walk up to the truck you see the older couple working hard, and are met with friendliness and warmth as they take your order and start working on it. They always make sure they got the order correct, and the food is always spectacular. We regularly order the lo mein, general tao's, orange chicken, broccoli beef, and crab puffs. Truly the best! I love that they have combo meals too, most Chinese restaurants only have family style portions of each item. The combo meals are still great portions! I can't recommend Tan's Happy...

One of these days I’ll remember to take a picture of the food but you open it up and it smells and looks so good I space the pic every time! The service is so nice too! Every time I’ve been there I’ve been greeted by a very nice woman who takes my order, they get the food to me so fast and it’s always hot and fresh! They were able to accommodate a vegan diet for one of coworkers as well. This is a new favorite! I don’t know how long I’ve been overlooking this spot now!
