The parking lot is quite small, especially sharing with 2 other facilities. The atmosphere when you walk in is cozy and inviting. The decorations are cute and homey while remaining authentic to the cuisine. The staff is mostly friendly, some staff members didnt smile back or say excuse me or even acknowledged anything. The waitress was nice, though she did not respond that fast when pushing "call waiter/waitress" button. She also didnt explain the concept, or how to use the tablet very well. Speaking of which, the tablets UI (User Interface) is VERY confusing at first, it took about 20 minutes to fully understand how it works, and what to do with NUMEROUS questions in between. There are so many different tabs, and options that are just thrown in your face. The tables are criminally small for how fast you can rack up dishes when it comes to using the hotpot, the waitress hardly came by to help. In fact, the whole principle is quite autonymous, you order on a tablet, you get your own drinks, you get yournown meats for the hotpot, its quite crazy. Me and another person both had the All You Can Eat Hotpot, BBQ and Dim Sum. The options are quite overwhelming at first, especially with the confusing UI, but the food was surprisingly fresh for an AYCE (All You Can Eat) style restaurant. The (very limited) spices were fresh and fragrant. The actual ingredients (IE shellfish, vegetables and fruits) were also pleasantly fresh. The beef and lamb kababs were delightful and had a very nice dry rub. The dumplings were fluffy and delicious. On the contrary, the Shu Mai were dreadful though, the center had the texture of baby food and was unpleasant to finish. The pork kababs were dreadful, they were 90% fat, so they were decent for the broth, but not to eat. If you DIDNT have the hotpot, they would have been completely inedible. Lastly, the beef noodles were not good either, that dish was lacking in flavor, and tasted more like hot water. Lastly, there are very limited selection of desserts that come with the AYCE options. There are also not a lot of classic desserts in general, mostly jelly and/or puddings. With all of that being said, if you season your broth correctly and know how to add and enhance flavors, most of the food will turn out lovely. The total came to over $110 for 2 people having the...
Read moreI have ordered from here about three times now from the app "too good to go", I got the drink package which includes two drinks for $5, which is a great price, however the first two times I went they gave me the same drinks (I know it's random) and the brown sugar boba wasn't cooked fully on both, like the middle was completely solid. Then this past time I went in I got there 5 minutes before my pickup time and waited until they were ready. Which ended up being about 20 minutes later at closing time. It was me and three other people there to pick up their orders. The lady that was at the front was on her phone and the computer the whole time. (She may have been finishing up for the day, or doing work idk). When they finally started packing up our food I noticed that the drinks they were giving to us had been sitting on the counter since we got there, none of them were covered and they all had ice in them, which by the time they had given it to us had all melted. All the drinks they gave us were all the same, a plain brown sugar milk tea, which would've been fine had it actually tasted like something other than (I don't like to exaggerate) dirty water. I had three people try it to see if I was being crazy and they all said it tasted horrible. It makes me kind of sad since the first two times were okay and I really like boba, so this was always a treat I look forward to, but I think after spending this much money on giving them the benefit of the doubt, I gotta say, third strike you're out. Hopefully I really have just gotten off on the wrong foot, but if this is a recurring problem it's definitely something to look into and consider. P.S I'm not usually a bitter person and I don't like to leave reviews unless it's really really good, or...really bad, I genuinely only mean this as information to...
Read moreWe read a lot of reviews of the restaurant before deciding to have dinner here. Everyone raves about the Dry Chilly Chicken. They gave us an iPad and we ordered this dish. When the dish arrived it was a few pieces of boned chicken with lots of potato fries. We immediately asked one of the service staff about the confusion. She said that it was what we had ordered. They have a new dish Legendary Spice Dry Chilly Chicken Winglet. On the iPad the word Winglet is hidden and you only see the W at the end plus there's no description of the dish.
In most restaurants when there's an honest mistake, it's not usually a big deal to fix it by a replacement or redo. In this case this member of the staff helpfully suggested we come again and order the dish we came to eat in the first place.
Usually this place would have gotten a good review despite some of the these other things: Water wasn't filled up until we asked for it. For a table or 3 there were only 2 plates and utensils even after the food arrived. The food arrived very randomly. We got the Dan Dan and noodles first and the dumplings almost at the end of our meal. None of the wine listed on the menu was available The Beijing a Duck has a price of $0 on the iPad and you have to click a few buttons to get the price which wasn't evident.
The Dan Dan noodles were good.
I highly recommend renaming the Winglet dish so there's no confusion with their signature dish. Reconfirm the order in person. Train the employees to handle order confusion better.
I was very disappointed but I would still encourage you to try this place. It has promise. Have a waiter answer your questions while you use the iPad.
I am a big supporter of technology but in this case it's better for a human to...
