Great living space for the right people! I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Accolade so far.
Location/Building: It meshes perfectly with my lifestyle-- I have easy access to a train line that takes me directly into campus, a grocery store nearby with fresh produce, a post office, and a great room at a good rate. I also renewed early, so my rent now comes with the benefits of amazing ammenties like study spaces, a gym, and craft room, along with rent that is comparitable/on the low end for an apartment like this around the area. I think it's a great deal for what you get.
If you like coffee, they also have free monthly cups. I don't like that it's through a phone, since a broken phone means no coffee, but it's not a major issue to me.
The mail and locking system is sometimes bad. There is a lot of people living here, so there is lots of mail. I'm not sure how the lock system works, though. I see packages all the time in the double-doors, along with left outside on the front desk/in the mail room, rather than in the package room. Wished there was someone in front consistently to help ensure mail is secured.
Staff: The cleaners also do a great job. I remember there was a time when it rained, and the double-door section got really musty. Thankfully, maintanance and cleaning handled it! Love the two cleaning ladies especially. They keep the entrance and lobby spotless. Maintanance is efficient and polite, and give you notice before they come in through email. If you have roommates, everyone will get emailed, which is nice. Manangement in front is sometimes inexperienced, but I haven't had major issues with them. They are all polite.
Apartment: I love my room. Every bedroom in my unit has a window, so we can get sunlight in. They are a good size, too! The carpet is short, making it super easy to clean up spills and vacuum as well. If you have allergies or seasonal depression might really like this spot. This is mainly why I chose it-- the floor and space is easy to clean, and I have plently of closet space with the open-closet concept. Please look at floor plans, though-- room size varies a noticable amount based on what room you take. One of my roommates doesn't even have their bathroom connected to their unit like the rest of us, which I found odd.
Parking/Vehicle access: I do not own a car. This means I completely skip the headache that is parking around here. There is practically no room for guests to park, so I often meet friends or my family through the gas station lot across the street. This means I've also do not have to deal with the staff or how the lot system works. Considering how hard it is for me to even meet my boyfriend, I do not doubt this system is difficult, and those with vehicles should note that.
Main pros: Great access to food, postal services, and public transit In-building gym, craft room, study space, conference space, and recording space Outdoor pool Game/hangout room Easy-to-maintain and clean apartments Clean units and shared spaces
Main cons: Parking is difficult, especially if you have guests. Packages can be left unattended for hours No front desk person consistently Inconsistent room layouts, to the potential detriment of unaware renters
I've really liked living here thus far, but it is because of my status as a student who also relies on public transit to get groceries + walk everywhere. I've given my rating a 5 star because of that! However, please read other reviews if you are planning to move here, especially those who own vehicles, pets, or have accessibility issues! I cannot comment on...
Read moreAs I am living here longer and longer more and more issues pop up the only real building maintenance issue that's resolved promptly are elevator in trapments and breakdown. The front door systems remain broken despite my taking it to the front office many times. I have heard similar stories and when residents say we won't tolerate and are leaving they go and made a post on Instagram waving their hands goodbye like they don't care...wow like your really adopting the ignore our residents for new residents next fall because at 90 days in the send out renewals that are 9.5% higher and they can ask us to sign but haven't been able to even produce a utility bill...so the building will encourage your student to sign a contract on a unit they have no way to budget for utility wise. I was gonna provide a normal 90 day update but now I have to wait till hopefully November when I have all the information to give to make that video but it's a coming to my YouTube. This was a new build open August 1st 2025 why does it feel like I'm just trying to get by someplace cheap, because this isn't luxury. The building has such unreliable Internet I've had to go rent a hotel room to get all my work done in time can't film UGC in Starbucks now can I damn if I could work from home. The amount of broken non accessible "ammenties" seems like a good reason to steer clear a picture sure it looks bad a video nah you get the full scene. Also parents add $30-40 in a card fee each month so for example my 400 sq ft studio is in my lease listed at $1170 base but just paying for rent and the unavoidable liability fee my monthly amount now is up $1206 + unknown utilities and unknown hotel cost to finish my work. Don't worry I'm sure your student when a deadline pops up and they need to turn in that essay and can't and then starts to loose funding over something they can't control they too will freak out as I've seen residents breaking down over that because it's 9pm and everywhere is closed and if they leave they might not be able to park and they are scared to walk alone in the dark back to their "luxury highrise" So yeah I tried the nice way and sitting down with them in the office but that doesn't work welp I'm an influencer and I have to idk influence I wonder what effect that will have on their little so what if you leave video we can easily fool people with fake plants in front of issues. No you can't see the unit before hand. No if you renew and want to change units to downgrade sure but you again have no way in floor or unit it's just I'll let my manger know about it. All of the buildings around here offering these rent a room to students are ran by big companies that don't care about one bad review and that's quite alright because in the long run it'll fade into existence and they upload fake photos of AI generated ammenties for those overseas to be shocked with when they come here. Thus far I've only really been loud here on Google maps what a crying shame it would be if I were to make another few videos since I have to leave anyway to go find a place to upload and film reliably. I love my space but I don't really utilize most of the other amenities because Im so frustrated by oh let's go to the 4th floor nope the fireplace isn't working and that's trigger some and distracting let's go to sky deck oooo nope can't get reception. I recommend the lobby windows if you stick your phone right up...
Read moreWe signed the lease with Accolade in June and clearly stated at the time that we wanted a south-facing room. However, the staff were extremely unfamiliar with the room types and gave us the wrong room number. When we actually moved in, we discovered it was an exactly north-facing room. There was no prior notice, let alone any explanation except saying sorry.
During the lease signing, we told officers clearly we wanted a parking spot,we also filled out our vehicle information in application , thinking that meant a parking spot was being reserved. Who wouldâve thought we had to sign a separate lease for parking,
and they never mentioned and sent that at all. It was only when we asked that they told us all the spots were already taken. The entire process lacked transparency and was honestly quite frustrating.
When we moved, we couldnât finish everything during the day and came back at night to continue, only to find the bicycle room was locked and we couldnât even get the cart. The âfree coffee machineâ they promised turned out to be limited to just 10 cups per month. During the tour, they showed us the Sky Lounge, but after moving in, we were told it was only for top-floor residents. The gap between the marketing and reality is just too big.
Responseďź Response: Hi Accolade team,
Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify that our concerns are primarily about the lack of transparency and communication throughout the leasing process, rather than a simple misunderstanding.
When we signed the lease in June, staff verbally confirmed that the unit was south-facing and even reassured us with a specific room number. At no point were we told that this could change, nor were alternative options presented. We only learned after moving in that the unit faces directly north, with no prior notification, explanation, or solution offered.
Similarly, we provided full vehicle information in our application and clearly requested a parking spot, believing it was included. We were never told an additional lease was required. Had we known parking was unavailable, we honestly would have reevaluated signing the lease. There are already over 80 people on the waitlist, does this mean residents were misled into signing their leases under the impression that parking was available?
Since move-in, we have also faced multiple maintenance and access issues, including a stove that has broken four times within two days (and still isnât functioning), doors that repeatedly fail to read resident fobs, and a coffee machine system unable to recognize my account even after move-in. (I would like to thank one staff memberâwhose name I unfortunately didnât catchâwho kindly offered me a cup of coffee during this time; he was at least trying to help, he was the only staff member I saw who was actually trying to solve problems)
We understand that policies exist, but believe that clear, proactive communication â especially at the time of signing and touring â is critical in setting accurate expectations. We sincerely hope Accolade will take these concerns seriously, improve transparency and responsiveness, and most importantly, help current residents resolve the ongoing issues, rather than shifting responsibility.
We look forward to your...
