I've been going to the Hewing Rooftop for years and have brought work groups of 15+ multiple times plus friend groups for occasions such as birthdays and other events, as well as recommended the establishment to many friends but after my last visit, no more.
We waited for 25 minutes to be attended to while being at the front of the bar, it felt like we were being ignored. We had lost count of the people who came AFTER us and got served immediately. The bartenders are either new to the industry or just bad at their jobs if they cannot keep track of the queue.
The girl with the black mask, glasses and long dark brown hair that was in a clip directly ignored us as she served people who came after us, literally made eye contact with us after she was done with the customer RIGHT NEXT TO US to literally skip us over to a couple who just started looking at the menu. I was leaning forward and holding up my card and ID the entire time to get her attention, but nothing. Also, I saw her pour an extremely low Old Fashion and when the patron asked her about it, she literally took his card, said that its fine and that they use bigger glasses up here and charged him the drink without the checking with him that he still wanted it. He said he had literally just had an Old fashioned downstairs that was the right level, and I have also had the same drink multiple times, and I know it was a very weak pour. She had to be top 5 worst bartenders I have had.
The guy with brown hair and glasses and I think a pony tail was making drinks in front of us for tickets and patrons who came up to him way after us and did not even try to serve us. He knew we had been waiting for a long time and didn't do anything.
The guy with blonde hair literally made drinks by accident and went out into the floor to give them out for free and stayed to talk to multiple people while there were a ton of patrons waiting at the bar. It looked like he was taking it slow.
The Hewing Rooftop will no longer be a place I visit or recommend to my friends or colleagues....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis review is based solely on the rooftop experience during a music event. Not good, unless you are a guest of the hotel, lounging poolside with one of the huge chaise lounge chairs opened flat taking up maximum space where at least three normal chairs would be for those (also paying) to see the show. Much more attention could be paid to maximizing the seating situation on concert nights to improve the experience. Not everyone can get there hours early, nor should they have to. Anyone who paid for a ticket should not have to stand up for two hours. The whole thing can be laid out better. To maximize seating, everyone being able to see the show, everyone who paid for a ticket getting a seat, and increased service staffing. Make it feel important to you that everyone has a good experience so people want to come back, and to recommend the experience (and the hotel) to others. Thatās what customer service...
