UPDATE TO UPDATE On 8/23/2025: We tried Los Gallitos again tonight and everything was perfect. The server was friendly, polite and efficient! The salsa was back to the great level it was when they opened. I had Los Gallitos Enchiladas and they were perfection. The sauce is particularly tasty. My friend had Toscana Chimi and she said it was perfect too! I had the Churro Cake and if you are a sugar fiend like I am, it will hit the spot. Very delightful experience!!!

UPDATE ON 7/26/25: I've eaten here numerous times since they opened and it steadily gets more unpredictable, especially the salsa, which I consider necessary for a good meal. Tonight it tasted like someone took a can of tomato sauce and added a tiny amount of jalapeño for color, not taste. It was awful. I order shredded beef tacos (4). Had three shredded and one very bland ground beef. My $10 Margarita did not have even an eye dropper of Tequila in it!!! I'm not a seasoned drinker and a large Margarita would make me tipsy. This one was like drinking limeade, very expensive limeade. I expected a much better meal but this place has gone from excellent to mediocre. If the owner and family are taking a day off they are being very naïve, especially on a Saturday night. They have to keep close watch over employees , especially kitchen. They've lost my business.

Lunch was excellent. Tacos and guacamole fresh and well seasoned. My favorite Mexican Restaurant in town. Clean, pleasant staff and everything fresh...

An affordable and high quality Mexican restaurant with a small, local vibe! My friends recommend we grab dinner here and I was shocked that I’d never been before. It was outstanding! The weather was so nice and I wanted to sit on the patio but there were already several people taking advantage of the beautiful atmosphere so we chose to sit inside where it was less crowded. The team serving us was phenomenal, with loads of table touches and thoroughly going through the specials. They have daily specials and seasonal specials in addition to their tried and true menu. I really liked that because it felt like no matter what you went with you knew had been vetted to make the cut! Some Mexican restaurants have 10 page menus and it can be overwhelming. I went with the Chimi platter and got the Birria as the meat option. Soooo flavorful!! Made me want to try their taco plate next time. I also got the aqua de Fresca horchata. To quote a popular Latin phase: GASOLINA!!! And we ordered the JalapeƱo Queso Dip which was excellent, just the right amount of spice and very little heat. I can’t wait to go back again soon. Mission is so over looked by there are places like this that have been hiding here for decades. I really love stumbling...

Found this local gem that was near an event we had attended in the morning. We ordered two combos (#3 & #4) as well as one of their seasonal specialty margaritas (Prickly Pear) and a bottled beer. The food was definitely fresh and the breading on the chili relleno was the best I’ve had in the KC area. The tomatoes and lettuce were fresh as well which isn’t always the case from various restaurants in the area. The enchiladas and beans had solid seasonings, the rice wasn’t bad but felt it could have been better. The tostada was good, I only wish it had been on a separate plate instead of on top of the rice and salad veggies which made it a bit soggy. The wait staff was great and very attentive (Reyna was our waitress) the owner or manager even stopped by tables to ensure things were meeting expectations. The facility was clean and in traditional festive decor. You have to ask for their hot salsa which both were excellent in heat and taste, I preferred the avocado over the red and couldn’t get enough. Highly recommend for anyone looking for fresh and authentic Mexican cuisine in the area, with staff ready to serve you with a smile. Great job...

This review is for CarryOut so cannot really rate the atmosphere other than the brief time inside. Ordered the Tijuana Chicken salad and the Shredded beef tacos with rice and refried beans. The order came with salsa and a small bag of chips. Mild Salsa was sweet without too much heat. Blended well with small chunks. The tortilla salad bowl was fresh with good crunch making it obviously fresh made earlier. Salad had grilled chicken with avocado, lettuce cheese, Citrus dressing and green peppers. The tacos were individually wrapped and still crunchy and warm when eaten. Refried beans and rice were savory and good spicing. Will eat in the next time trying something different like enchiladas Yes, I would recommend this place for CarryOut
