The Other Place Mission — Restaurant in Mission

Our son was moving because of a big promotion. I needed to find somewhere ( with good pizza, his favorite). I was looking in Mission since our other adult children and their wife’s, kids etc.lived in Mission or close by. I called one place but it was just pick up and delivery. Went to Google and saw “ The Other Place”. Looked fabulous. Saw the menu which has so much more than pizza. Great reviews. So I called asking was it possible to get a reservation for 12 people.?? I could not believe it!!! Absolutely I could do that!!! When we got there the whole area was amazingly fixed up. They were ready for us!! I give massive praise to Spencer. He was absolutely the best. He got us started with drinks immediately. Was telling us about the favorites that a lot of people get. With 12 of us some did get pizza which was fabulous and everything else from Lasagna to club sandwiches and more. Spencer had a lot of balls to juggle with our “carnival” lol. He was pure class, always checking on us, doing refills to getting “to go” desserts. Never hurried us. Was calm and on top of everything. The food was amazing. So good. Everybody trying everyone else’s selections lol. It was the best. Spencer made it such a wonderful time and we raved about it for days. He asked when we got there if this was a special occasion. I explained about our son moving. I’m a mom and wanted it to be fun ( we can be a little loud) lol, a great evening for everyone and especially our son and his fiancé. It was EVERYTHING I could have hoped for and more. From beginning to end Spencer made it so memorable. Thank you Spencer. “The Other Place” rocks. And YOU made it such a wonderful evening. Spencer deserves a huge raise!!!! We WILL be back. And already we’ve sent people there. It made this mom and dad so very very happy and pleased. And our son knew how much he means to all of us by having such a fun, wonderful time which meant everything to this mom!! There was not one single bump the whole time. And we give it ALL to Spencer. He’s the BEST....

Waitress, keeping bugging us, to order ( it was not busy). We give drink order, then still didn't know what we wanted, asked for a few minutes, she left for 1-2 minutes, came back again ( way too soon), asked we are older and slower. Then she got lost ( she needs to learn the difference).. Ordered she was nice, just needs to fine tune somthings. When my husband got his burger & fries (mind you he asked for light salt- when he ordered). When he got them, they were covered ( heavy) in salt & seasonings. We had to catch our server. We recieved new fried in a basket (the wax paper was covered in grease, even grease underneath the basket, we had to catch the server to get more napkins to wipe the grease off the table, plus my husband used the napkins we had on our table, placed them on the tray napkins & silverwear come on. So he soaked up the grease, it was really bad, the kitchen dudnt even attempt to drain the grease off the fries ( very sad), that the kitchen dudnt talk pride in their food they send out. Customers can choice where the want to spend there money. (the kitchen staff didnt care). Another server stopped to grab the basket with the greasy wax paper, we caught her, advised we wanted to show our server, what she brought to our table with out looking...

It was a busy Saturday night. Once seated we were able to place our order in about 15 minutes. Fast forward 45 minutes our server comes by and tells us service times are longer than normal. We were like ya we know. Finally after an hour we started getting food. We didn’t get one sandwich and they brought one of us the wrong hamburger. They replaced the hamburger but still no sandwich. 15 minutes later manager comes by and says they are finishing up the sandwich. 10 minutes later still no food and we said pack it to go. 10 minutes later server comes back and says I don’t think they have even started your sandwich. We said we are going to HyVee across the street and we would come back for sandwich. We returned 25 minutes later and it was still not ready. After a couple of minutes they brought it out. Fast forward it’s been 2 hours and we leave with a sandwich. We get home with high hopes. Opened box and the disappointments continue. We had ordered the Big Pig sandwich on white bread and it was on wheat. It had 2 slices of pepperoni, one strip of bacon, no OP sauce (marinara sauce) and over cooked (appeared double fried) tater tots. Seriously...
