Charlie B's — Restaurant in Missoula

This place is the perfect old crusty floors bar that still manages to feel clean, safe, warm and cozy. Great drinks. Even better drink prices. So the Plonk next door is pretty to look at but you only chat with who you came with. Charlie B's atmosphere has every walk life in it with one thing in common..... They're all laid back wanting to talk and have a good time share moment and I laugh together. Really isn't that what a good bar is about bringing people together over a drink? Charlie B's has it all college kids to the seasoned, older, been here forever crowd. The drinks are good and the food in the back at dinosaur Cafe is the best Cajun food you'll find this far from Louisiana. You got to try this place all of it. Came to Missoula for a ten-day stretch. Since I was working from a laptop, I could go anywhere. I'm prone to go to local vibes as opposed to industrial breweries or chains. I found my place at Charlie B's, and was immediately impressed with the bartender's work ethic (Tabatha). The afternoon crowd was replete with older (50+yrs) local representation. I feel lucky to find a bar like this once every few years. Good selection of beers, though most of the patrons were drinking the cheap stuff. [I visited over 10 bars while here]. If you want to go to a bar with romantic lighting, tapas and Hors d' oeuvres, an server's with a skinny black tie - go elsewhere. If you want to relax, have some good food, some strong and great drinks, and shoot-the-sh with some true, blue collar, Missoulians, look no further.

I don't believe a better bar exists. It's casual with great bartenders, and exactly the right amount of sleaze to make you feel at home. If the show Cheers was uncensored it would be a pretty good representation of this bar,...
