I’ve been in food service since I was 14, everything from BBQ to fine dining. For food to move me to leaving a review it either has to be off the charts impressive, or downright sickening. Gonna have to go with the latter Ordered delivery last night 9/20/20 around 7:30. Placed order online for two sandwiches and two cookies. One turkey, one brisket. They called me about 20 minutes after I placed the order stating they were out of turkey. I said that’s fine and to replace it with the sausage sandwich. When the food finally arrived, I was disgusted but I’d been without power for days and hadn’t eaten much so I ate it anyways. Mind you, I ordered both sandwiches with bbq sauce as was prompted by the menu. Out of the two cookies I paid for, I received one. Both sandwiches were nothing but untoasted buns and meat. No sauce, nothing. The sausage was especially dry and I couldn’t eat more than a couple bites of a dry bun and mediocre sausage. The brisket was downright gutwrenching. Greasy slimy slop, the bun was soggy and for an untoasted bun with no butter to get wet and soggy just from the protein is hilariously bad. Brisket tasted a little funky but again I was hungry. Bad move. Within an hour, my gut was bubbling worse than any other food poisoning I’ve had. I hurled and even after my body rid itself of all previously consumed contents, I still had heaves for hours, even with nothing to throw up. Even worse is I gave a small piece of brisket to my dog and he was sick all night, I had to clean up after him for hours while also running to the toilet myself. The best part of this is that I got food poisoning from simply a meat and bun. If you can manage to poison somebody with food that simple as precooked bbq, that means that the hygiene standards of the cook and kitchen management is atrocious and without care, and likely this kitchen does not properly date/label/rotate their products. This is one of three reviews I’ve ever left. Do not eat at dickeys unless you’re some kind of sadomasochist who enjoys being painfully ill. I’m seriously impressed with how low their standards for their product are. Do not eat here, ever for any reason. I don’t want my money back, I don’t want a free meal, I simply hope no one else spends another dime here. Dickeys employees, sure it’s not the greatest job or your dream career, but damnit have some respect for yourself and the general public, to not care about hygiene standards is dishing for Yourself out the worst karma...
Read moreI've never been to a Dickey's. I figured that I would try it out, as I love good BBQ. Maybe I will find a new spot? Nope. I will not be going back.
I asked the pit master what he recommended but he didn't seem too interested to give me an answer. I asked again in a different way what he liked and he didn't really have an opinion either way. That's cool, I'll keep it moving. I just got the two-meat meal...
I get it to go because I'm going back to my spot to sit down and enjoy a movie and feast. Naw. Nothing like that.
If you're in the food service industry, you have to understand that people eat with their eyes. The brisket wasn't sliced properly and the chicken is like 1/3 of a breast. So the presentation is off from the jump. I get this weak, unflavored, 3/4 inch squared piece of dry and dusty bread. Bread is so dry and hard that it literally broke in half. I had to apply real pressure. The beans, both baked and green were weak, with no flavor to them.
They must simply cut a bag of pre-made and slightly seasoned vegetables and heat them up. I gave them two stars because it was edible and the brisket had some flavor. Them little shaved slices of a third of a chicken breast was dry. On top of all that, the place doesn't even have hot sauce.
I hope they step up their game a little. It was pretty weak. Maybe it was because it's Sunday and they just don't care, at all, on Sundays?
I waited to post this, thinking I may have been wrong with my interpretation, but everywhere else I've eaten here in Mobile is nice. This...
Read moreI made it to the restaurant at 8:45pm. I know they close at 9pm, but I wasn't ordering much. Stood at the menu board as three employees looked at me. Another employee was back by the register speaking to a Door Dash delivery person. As I found what I wanted on the menu board, the employee that was by the register comes up to me and says, "We literally have no food, sorry." When I parked I was a but hesitant to even get out of my vehicle because the open sign was off and the lights in the dinning room had been dimmed as if they were already closed, but the door was still unlocked as I checked for the closing time. There was no signage on the door stating they had run out of food at the restaurant. I understand it was 15 minutes before you actually closed, but those are the stated operating hours. If you're not going to serve anyone during operating hours then adjust you hours accordingly. Needless to say they have lost this customer for life. I'll be putting in a call when they reopen to air my grievances to the Manger as well as the district manager because apparently the employees they have operating the restaurant do not want to...
