I have eaten food twice from here so far since the re-opening. I probably won't get anything else just because to me the food doesn't taste the same.
I am a Cuisine of India girl and that was my favorite place to get some good Indian food from before it became Tandoor India Cuisine. I've been going to Cuisine of India since the day it opened and I was a kid. I'm a full adult now so of course I was excited for the revamp of the building. I thought the food would taste the same... You know.. New look/name but same food...
However, it is not and I am highly disappointed. The first item I tried was the chicken curry. Definitely one of my favorite dishes to eat when I went to Cuisine of India. The chicken curry I got from Tandoor was soupy, chicken wasn't tender I believe because it was chicken breast instead of chicken thighs, the seasoning and flavor wasn't there at all. I got the smallest portion I have ever seen.
Now I know Indian food is expensive and I am willing to pay good money for it; But it's not good when the food doesn't taste the same or better and the sizing of the food has went down. Then they don't give small containers of raita unless you want to pay a lot for a big container even though it's a small portion of food.
Lastly, I had their goat biryani which my parents said they enjoyed. I did not because personally it tasted too salty for me and again it felt like it missing flavor. My parents also received raita and it was so thick and chunky. I also didn't know there was ever onions in it?? Plus the smell of the raita was not it for me.... Also I learned you charge a $1 to put butter on naan? When butter is normally already on it.....
Maybe other people will enjoy the food and restaurant. However, I think I am saying farewell to what once was a beloved place to me. Which is...
Read moreI just found about Tandoor not too long ago and decided to try takeout from them. The big decision was what to order. I had thought about the butter chicken or the chicken tikka masala. At the last second I decided on the chicken vindaloo. I put in the order and drove to pick up my food. When I arrived there were a few people dining in and some people waiting to pick up their orders. I could tell they were busy because it took a minute for someone to come out the back to greet me. That was not a problem I understood that it was busy. I didn’t have to wait too long for my food. When I got home I was really hungry. When I opened my food containers I was welcomed with the lovely aroma of spices. I ordered some butter naan with my chicken vindaloo. I didn’t taste much butter but the naan was good nonetheless. The chicken vindaloo was superb. I know Indian cuisine can be very spicy and while the vindaloo was spicy it was really flavorful. I don’t remember the last time I had chicken vindaloo but it was easily some of the best I’ve had. I definitely recommend it if you love...
Read moreHi everyone. I just want to share something about Tandoor Multicuisine Resturant. Mobile. Alabama I have been to this place today. A Indian lady working at the Resturant. I do not know why she is behaved very strange with me and my husband. I know she is working in the resturant as a part time but still she needs to give respect and treat the customers good 1st thing when we have ordered the food. She got the food bowl hold one finger inside the food. This is the basic of every resturant that they get the food on tray. But she did not do that. And when I asked for a togo box for the leftover food she got me a curry box and was not even listening to me she argured. Later she got the big tugo box in which rice can fit. She got the card reader in her hand and standing beside her table when my husband asked for how much she repied $100 in a sarcasm way. I said loudly said what!!! Then she replied $56. This is rediculus and i suggest and also request to the management to remove her from the job. Because of her behaviour people like me would never come back to the...
