McAlister's Deli — Restaurant in Mokena

First I will start by saying this location has fallen off with their salads and Sandwiches but let me start with the Good. During this visit we ordered the Chipotle chicken and Bacon Spud, side broccoli, Carrot Cake pick 2 chicken club and harvest chicken Salad Salad.

The chicken and Bacon Spud was excellent its a must try. Steam broccoli was very good. Carrot Cake was good just a little too sweet for me because I don't eat alot of sugar so I would say try it for yourself.

Now the Bad. The Chicken club use to be very good cut into triangles with the toothpicks. I received the three pieces of bread cut in half. The bottom layer was a big hunk of lettuce only with no meat, as it typically is and I have ordered thissandwich for years. When I tell you it was so much lettuce on the sandwich until I did not need to order the salad. It supposed to come with mayo and honey mustard. I asked for no mayo but they forgott to put honey mustard which is the highlight of the sandwich. Needless to say the sandwich was very dry and inedible. Lastly the salad, it was the chicken salad salad. Now the chicken salad was very fresh but the lettuce OMG. It was big chunks of big white stalks. I had to pick the chunks out and by the time I did it was barely anything. Maybe 3 forks worth. Not sure what happened to the sandwiches and salad but please please take more pride when preparing food for paying customers especially...

I recently wrote a bad review based on a recent negative experience with an obviously stressed employee. While I understand the stress of a lunch rush, it isn’t an excuse to make a customer feel so badly. I never write bad reviews and truly try to be the person who goes out of their way to tell when people do the right thing, but this recent experience was something that could really ruin a restaurant. This would be unfortunate as its both of my daughters absolutely favorite restaurant.

However, the General Manager reached out to me to reassure me that this is not their standard…a fact I know to be true for the most part as we frequent the restaurant on special treat days. Still, it went a long way to show the level of care and concern that is put into ensuring customers leave satisfied. Between Tom (the General Manager) and the very kind older lady who works the register, I feel confident that our original love of McAlister’s and their commitment to good food and good customer service is genuine and true. Thank you for turning around what could have been a terrible overall view. Your effort just to talk with me speaks volumes about their values....

McAlisters Deli as a chain franchise is awesome. This location is the worst. We waited over an hour and never got our food. After 10 orders that were made after ours were given their food (take outs and dine in), my husband went to the manager to ask what the hold up was. She eventually told my husband that our order was never received “in the system” after looking on the computer for 10 minutes (even though we had a receipt as proof) and without options, gave my husband his money back. When he asked about our food she said we’d have to wait another hour for our food! I really think they need new management here because the kids that work here don’t seem happy to be there at all and they don’t seem to know what they’re doing. There was 1 person preparing orders while 4 people were hovering around the counters taking more orders. This was an experience of terrible customer service especially because this was the MANAGER that did this. There were other people complaining and one lady was made late to work bc she had to wait so long. Message to the manager we have informed corporate and they were more than obliged to make up for your inept...
