Place is a scam. Yesterday my son and I went - I ordered Carne Asada and cheese dip, and my 7 year old son only wanted a side of Carnitas. They brought him carnitas in the tiny cheese dip bowls they have and charged us $6. I thought that's alot for a portion that's about the same as what a $3 taco would have, but I didn't complain - it's all good. Tonight we went back and ordered the exact same thing - Carne Asada, cheese dip, and a side of carnitas. They brought my son the tiny portion of carnitas in the little cheese dip container again, but they charged us $9 this time. I politely mentioned it to the cashier, who asked the waitress's son. He then asked his mom and rudely said something like "Yesterday they made a mistake, the $9 price is right. I'm sorry". Yeah I'm sure - a portion not even enough for a 7 year old in a little cheese dip sized container should be $9. That kind of greedy attitude is what keeps people like me away. I'm in town for business, drove there in an Escalade and was planning to go here 3-4x a week as mexican is my favorite food, but I'd rather drive the 20 miles to El Toro near Seneca/Cranberry PA and not...
Read moreCozumel Mexican Restaurant and Cantina is a family owned Mexican restaurant located inside of the Motel 6 in Clarion. The owners and staff were friendly. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the restaurant closed the bar portion of their restaurant. The restaurant was decorated with Mexican artifacts including ceramic peppers, talavera pottery, ceramic skulls, and huge sombreros. The tables in the dining room were social distanced.
For a late lunch, we had 6-pack of Tecate, Pina Colada Margarita, Chicken Quesadillas, and Chicken Tacos. It came with crispy tortilla chips and mild salsa. The Chicken Quesadilla consisted of a flour tortilla with cheese and shredded chicken, pan fried and served with shredded lettuce, sour cream, and diced tomatoes. Due to the takeout nature, the quesadilla was tasty but soggy on the bottom. I recommend wrapping the quesadillas with foil to separate from the condiments. The Chicken Taco consisted of two crispy hard taco stuffed with shredded chicken, shredded cheese, diced tomato, and...
Read moreThere was a time when I visited this restaurant quite often. It's been at least 15 years since I was there last. I took my niece there for dinner tonight and I have to say the disappointment was overwhelming! The service was terrible and they were not busy, we didn't get our drinks for at least 10 minutes after we ordered them. Our food came one plate at a time separate from each other's, I mean seriously we're supposed to be having dinner together ??? The large guacamole for $10 I am pretty sure was pre-made out of a can or jar or something I mean this is a Mexican restaurant! The portion was ridiculously small and I am not a big eater but really??? I ended up spending $70 and walking out of there being so frustrated I came home and made fries in the air fryer! So sad! I hate when a restaurant goes downhill like this! This is the only Mexican restaurant in town to my knowledge anyway. They need to up...
