First off, I have been going to the Roadhouse in Clarion for years! Monday night wing night is by far one of my favorite past times! Let me emphasize the “past time”. Tonight was the first time I have been to the roadhouse on a Monday since the new management took over, it will also be the last time I ever go there! Also, Notice I did not refer to it as “wing night”! Anyway, the new staff is horrible! The food quality and portion sizes were even more horrible! The prices, are completely disgraceful! We ordered wings, $7.99 a dozen (for undercooked wings with barely any wing sauce at all)... which no longer includes ranch or celery. The waitress did not inform us when taking our order that these were going to be an additional charge, she even asked if we wanted them! I was charged an extra $2.00 on my bill for ranch dressing and $.50 for one order of celery. I also order 2 appetizers of loaded fries, which didn’t come out for a half hour.
I also ordered a side salad, rolls and a beer. None of which came out. I literally had to go ask a manager for these items! I referenced that our waitress kept disappearing and we hadn’t gotten any refills for our drinks, or half of our appetizers, the manager responded by saying “it’s not that she keeps disappearing, we are just a little overwhelmed at the moment.” At the time, there were less than 15 people in the restaurant, that included my party of 5 people!
When our wings finally came out, they completely forgot an order for one of the members in our party. Again, we had to go ask someone for the missing order of wings. The manager finally brought them out to us, she said that order would be on the house and apologized. However, when the bills came, that order of wings was on the bill. When we asked about the mistake, it took 20 minutes for the charge to be removed!
It saddens me that the Roadhouse is now considered a memory. The food was once great and my family and friends looked forward to going there. R.I.P....
Read moreI spend my time eating around the world... After being out of the area for a couple of years- I was excited to return to the RRR! I noticed the changes right away! I asked our very friendly waitress Elle when it changed hands...? She explained about a year-ish ago. I continued with my order of Scallops (SEE PHOTO) & The Grilled Chicken with Fugi Apple Bourbon Sauce. Of course these dishes were accompanied by sides such as a salad with wilted lettuce, yellow bitterness & parts of the lettuce core that were inedible. When the dishes arrived to the table the Scallops were fishy, old & inedible at a cost of 5 for $18. The Grilled Chicken was undercooked & came out with a plastic cup of sauce with nothing else on the plate. Not very eye appealing at all! Moving on... After one bite & a lot of disappointment I asked to speak with the manager. Kathy the Manager came out & seemed to have genuine concern- then in the next breath we received our bill. I had stated I didn't mind paying for our food but it was definitely not edible. I made the mistake of assuming that our bill would be adjusted accordingly after showing her our complaints. WELL- She took off $5. We will not be back! On a good note my Cottage Cheese & French Onion Soup were consumable thank goodness! I am a Foodie & give reviews often- it's my job! I made that perfectly clear to Manager Kathy. Normally, I never reveal that I'm a critic/food guide. Upon leaving I was asked to leave my information... ? I did... Find me & my travels on Instagram @terriereddick - #hatticadesigns. I sure hope things improve! If not... I see failure! Coming from a family of entrepreneurs I almost ALWAYS support the small...
Read moreI'm not the biggest fan of American restaurants. I love American food, but I prefer restaurants that have foods I don't make for myself at home. However, after going to this place I never want to go to a different roadhouse ever again.
When I saw the front of R3 I was skeptical. It doesn't have the prettiest front. Well, it turns out that R3 is a butterface, because it has a beautiful interior.
The service was great. Even though the place was stuffed with people our waitress was very attentive and sweet and made sure we always had drinks. I think her name was Mackenzie. Even my great uncle liked her, and (for some reason I don't understand) he almost always hates his waiters. She was just so smiley and patient with us, even when my mom accidentally dumped a glass of water on her.
And the food was amazing. I went to meet with some family for Father's Day, so I was in the car for an hour beforehand. I got car sick on the way up and I was planning on just having an appetizer because I was so nauseous. The appetizer was so good that I also got a burger with fries and chips. The burger was so good that I got a slice of red velvet cheesecake too. I ended up eating a ridiculous amount of food and I actually felt great afterwards. I really should have felt sick with how much I ate, but I didn't. I guess that just shows how clean the food is here.
And if Mackenzie's boss is reading this and it turns out I messed up and her name isn't actually Mackenzie: she's the cute one with curly brown hair that goes about halfway...
