One star. Reserved exclusively for the bearded employee who served me with the weary smile of a man who knows exactly what horrors heās handing over.
Letās talk sugar. Boba is supposed to be sweet. No oneās asking for a kale smoothie here. But thereās āsweet,ā and then thereās whatever fever-dream alchemy Bobazona is doing behind the counter.
You see, at places like Pochi or Happy Lemonāactual boba institutions built on taste, trust, and the radical idea of giving a damnāyou can choose your sugar level. Want 0% sugar? Great! Theyāll hand you a drink that tastes like tea. Revolutionary, right? Want 50%? Boomābalanced, nuanced, crafted. At those places, your drink doesnāt taste like it was brewed in a cotton candy reactor.
But Bobazona? Oh no. Bobazona says, āYou want 0% sugar? Hereās a liquified Pez dispenser wrapped in hellfire.ā Itās the illusion of choice. The gaslighting of beverages. Every single flavorāThai tea, black tea, strawberry, rose (why is ROSE the sweetest???)ātastes like a dare.
This is coming from someone raised on Monster Energy and Mountain Dew Code Red. I used to chase Skittles with Gushers. And stillāstillāthis was too much. The rose tea I ordered with zero added sugar tasted like someone turned a Bath & Body Works into a beverage and forgot to tell the FDA. It physically hurt to drink. I swear I saw a hummingbird explode outside the window as I sipped it.
Bobazona has somehow cracked the code on how to take a refreshing tradition like boba and transform it into a blood sugar time bomb. I honestly think if you poured one of their drinks into a car engine, it would run fasterāand develop diabetes.
So hats off to the owner. If your vision was to weaponize tea against the human pancreas, youāve succeeded beyond your wildest dreams. But maybe take a field trip to Pochi or Happy Lemon sometime. See what happens when you trust your customers to know what they want and donāt just funnel sugar into a cup like itās the end of days.
In conclusion: if youāre looking for flavor, balance, or literally anything other than despair in a plastic cup, go somewhere else. Anywhere else....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf I could give zero starts I would. I normally go get boba from ShareTea or Happy Lemon and didnāt want to drive too far so I wanted to try this place with my daughter. I saw the flavors on one section of the menu and then a list under milk teas so I asked which area should I look at for bubble tea flavors. She asked me what I thought bubble tea was and I was confused. I told her what it was and about where I normally go. I mentioned I wanted to get a taro bubble tea and she said that there wasnāt any tea inside and that it was water based and powdered taro. I said ok thatās weird that thereās no tea in it. Then I mentioned I wanted a matcha bubble tea and she said that there is no tea in the matcha and that itās just water based with powder. I looked at her and said matcha is green tea and she said no there isnāt any tea in the matcha. We both looked at each other like the other person was stupid. I just said ok thank you goodbye and left. How can you work at a tea shop and not know that matcha is powdered green tea. Iāve never heard something so ridiculous. The owner needs to work on properly training their staff. Customer service was non existent, very unprofessional because she had her friends in the store so sheās getting pay to hang out with friends vs work, and staff didnāt even have basic knowledge of their...

Iām blown away people are here writing bad reviews about the service when it just opened this week. These are teenagers their first few days on the job, maybe even their first job ever and they were all sweet and working hard and did a great job.
Gelato: omg the hazelnut fudge is SO good. Maybe my favorite new gelato ever. Iāll be back just for that.
Boba: a lot of fun flavors to chose from, itās almost overwhelming. I love sweet things but omg 50% sweetness was wayyy too sweet. The flavors were delicious but I had a hard time drinking the whole thing at that level of sweet. Iād recommend not going above 25% and if youāre someone who thinks dark chocolate is sweet I wouldnāt add any sweetness!!! I thought the boba balls should have been a bit chewier? Maybe thatās just me but it was all really good.
Loved that they had a kiosk, it made check out smooth and easy and itās just in general an easier way to sort through your options. I really donāt know why people are complaining...
