We went to this place three times after we moved to Monroe and the first time was great... we were able to find a spot in the bar and received good service but each time after that was a little worse. I always got a shrimp quesadilla for about $13 and the third time I ordered the same thing it was half the size (thought it was a mistake and would be charged for the appetizer price). I asked why it was half of a quesadilla (one tortilla folded in half) with two shrimp for $13 (what I had been paying for a full quesadilla and they said they decided to change the menue. It wouldnt have been as bad but they actually hadn't changed the menu so there was no way to tell you were getting half the amout for the same price. On top of it, we had told our friends to come from Edmonds to join us and said it was our favorite but it was horrible serve. It took over ba he to get our drinks after we got there and it took us over 50 minutes to get our check. This was the first bad refer I've ever left and the reason i left it is because they didn't feel bad about any of it. It's a blessing because we found a hole in the wall Mexican restaurant who makes the best food and drinks off of Main Street and all the employees are so sweet. After two times they knew us and treated us like family ❤️ Tres...

Well i have to edit my review unfortunately. My wife called in to order some take out. She was talking to Alexis and when she asked for 3 additional tortillas Alexis informed her there would be a charge for that. It wasnt the cost it was about the fact we had never heard about any charges for extra tortillas in 15 years of eating there. So from there it didn't go well with Alexis because he was defensive about it. He was very stuck on that it should be charged for and if it wasn't then the wait staff wasn't doing the right thing. So it wasn't a big deal accept it became a matter of how alexis handled it with us. I called him to talk about it and same story. He said he would do it this once if we wanted to order food there, but it just left a bad taste in our mouth over it. I dont even know how much the charge was we just don't want to be treated like we've been taking advantage of MiTierras for 15 years and just this once Alexis the owner will take care of it for us. Well Alexis we will be patronizing one of the many other Mexican establishments here in Monroe...

Nice Mexican restaurant in Monroe!

Decent sized parking lot that is shared with a few other businesses, and I believe I saw a sign for "additional parking below"

The interior is bright, welcoming and open. I was promptly seated at lunch time with chips, salsa and water immediately. I hadn't been here so I need a few minutes to look over the menu. My server was not pushy or overbearing and allowed me time to browse before making a decision.

The lunch menu was very reasonably priced with lots of options for a meal at a discounted price tag.

I settled on the chicken fajitas. It was plenty of food for one sitting. Served with rice, beans, sour cream, and guac. Fresh guacamole, well seasoned rice and beans. The chicken was flavorful and tender and the veggies were grilled really nicely. They use a lot of spices so this is a more "saucy" version of fajitas.

Overall I would definitely recommend this place if in Monroe and looking for an easy, quick, delicious and cost...

It used to be our favorite place for Comfort food!!! But, today the Tortilla soup tasted watery and too full of chips, lacking the normal savory flavor, making the broth boring and unimpressive. The worst part of our experience today was the manager's response when he asked how everything was, and I told him. He informed me that his regular customer, who eats it every day, did not complain, so I was basically dismissed. Then, when I asked him if he tasted it today, he informed me that he doesn't eat the soup! 🤯. (That is the most piss-poor excuse & attitude from a restaurant manager EVER!). Maybe I should spend a day at MiTierra and train him on how to actually "manage" a restaurant?! Food tasting DAILY should be part if his repitoire!!! Very sadly disappointed today.

I was charged $22 for my meal which is fine. It was for my pregnant wife because she isn't able to keep much down but she keeps beans and rice down and loves your restaurant. But got home and it was something entirely different and had a receipt of $16 which is the usual price. I was very clear when I told to waitress I ordered beans and rice and said it twice to confirm and she agreed both times. Usually great but that was extremely disappointing because now she gonna have to go without food tonight because it's late and your closed to solve the problem
