Wow. Do not pass this gem by. Tucked away in a plaza in San Gabriel valley is a Chinese bakery with some deliciously crafted and reasonably priced treats.

Do not sleep on the po tarts. If you only get one thing, get these. Deliciously fluffy and smooth egg custard is nestled in some of the flakiest softest pastry dough I’ve had. Ours were fresh out of the oven, which made them taste incredible.

I would also highly recommend the taro delight, which is a ball of taro paste housed in a swirl of purple dough. Then pastry was light - and the filling was light, smooth and not too sweet. We also enjoyed the napoleon, flaky pastry lightly layered with walnuts and some sort of cream layered in. The pork floss bun was interesting, a fluffy roll with a sweet pork coating. Next time I would be interested to try more of their savory offerings as well. They also make beautiful cakes and fruit tarts to order as well.

The interior is small and simple, with only one table as an option for seating so the shop is more of just a place to grab your goods as opposed to sitting for a while. I would highly recommend to stop in to experience...

How can I describe Jim's Bakery. Hmm. Magnificient!!! Outstanding!! Delish! Whether you in a mood for some Chinese loaves of bread, pastries or cake; I have never left disappointed. The female staff is always presented with a smile. My favorite thing to order is the mango cakes. We get them for every birthday in our family. Sometimes, we will get the mango cake just because we are craving it. Furthermore, try their egg tarts which are so delicious. You can definitely reheat them the morning after in a oven. The Portuguese tarts, I would recommend eating after you purchase them. Their pineapple crusted bun is really good. I think the reviews I have heard that they are plain is whatevers. I love the pineapple crust, so I am a happy camper. Their red bean toast is really good too. It's difficult nowadays to find top notch quality red bean bread, and Jim's bakery is that one exception because they make it sooooo good! Please keep up the great work and the best...
