McDonald's — Restaurant in Monterey

This is my local McDonalds and in all honesty, it’s been nothing but trouble. I’m a frequent visitor due to convenience but I’m really going to have to put my foot down and just drive farther. Today, I placed a mobile pick up order and waited for almost 25 minutes. I went inside and granted, it was very busy. The cashier was young and doing her best but she was overwhelmed and was getting absolutely no help from the manager, Cecilia. I asked if I could get a refund on the order since my wife and I had somewhere to be. I asked if I could see the manager to get the refund. The cashier walked over to Cecilia and Cecilia told her (I could overhear it) that she was too busy to deal with me; I would have to wait. I left and came back a few hours later after our appointment. The same cashier was there who recognized me. Cecilia now evidently had time to talk with me. I told her what happened and she said “we don’t serve breakfast anymore”. I looked at her stunned and restated my problem clearer and more succinctly. She looked at me and said “okay” and walked away. I asked the cashier if she was getting my refund and the cashier walked away in hopes of clarifying. Another employee showed up and asked me what the problem was. I now restated my problem for the 4th? Time. She went to the register with the obviously newer cashier and finally gave me my refund. I asked the employee if she was the manager and she shook her head and pointed to Cecilia. I’ve had similar problems with this manager in the past. The cashier was the best part of the experience: she was trying to be helpful and was the ONLY person to apologize for what I went through. I’ll be following up with corporate on this. I believe this is a franchise and they will lose money with managers like this...

Perhaps some of the reviewers have forgotten that this is McDonald's, a FAST FOOD restaurant. This is the number one McDonald's here in the state of California! I don't care what anyone says. James, one of the managers is by far one of the most amazing managers any company could have. From every sandwich cooked and made, every french fry fried to every milk shake and frappe made. Bobby, the new cook is amazing and always has a smile on his face. The other cook, who I call Mr. Sunshine that is usually there in the evenings is also an amazing cook and also has a very pleasant smile and a golden heart. AMAZING employees work here and almost every one of them greet you with a smile when you walk in or when they are helping you. My daughter's and I have visited this McDonald's many times and we have been in this McDonald's from opening to closing and we have LOVED each and EVERY visit. Thank you for creating such an AMAZING environment at a FAST FOOD restaurant that my daughter's and I can enjoy together as a family! YOU ARE ALL...
