Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is due to the service. Either they were training a new employee or they were uninterested in serving us. First, when we placed our food and coffee order with one of the young ladies, the barista lady just stood there and didn't even start making our drinks, she even walked away after our transaction was completed. Our food was great but took it's sweet time though, just like our latte's. We recieved half of our food order so we decided to ask about our lattes thst we ordered since we were waiting AWHILE and we had ordered a large latte and med half caff latte (I know it can be done since I was a barista at one time.) They made a regular medium latte and then someone else's drink came out (when you make a mistake the mistake takes president over any other order) we asked about our large latte and the lady who took our order told us what she "believed" what we ordered which in my experience in food retail you never do. I explained to her no and then begins to hand me regular cup of coffee trying to explain to me that's what I ordered and I said no I ordered a latte half caff she then gave me a disgust look (wow). I'm very disappointed, my boyfriend came here several times his last visit to Monterey and he raved about it and now he is even sadden about this experience. We both been in the industry and couldn't believe how poor the service was. Food was good when it came and then lattes well I've had better and the service terrible. We even tipped them before we received any thing, so just note wait to tip then maybe they will actually go to work and get your order ready in a...

I started going in just over a week ago. I usually go in the morning for about a half an hour to check my email and do business over WiFi and purchase a small coffee as well . Well I went in this morning and had came in with 2 hard boiled eggs in a small packet to eat as I did my morning routine along with my purified bottled water, BUT today I didn't feel like buying a coffee. However the very short middle aged Asian man that works there came over and makes me leave because he said I can't bring food from another place. He said it in a tone as if he was someone of power. I think he is just really not happy with himself so he decided to take it out on me. He was very unprofessional, impolite, and perhaps has little man syndrome and tried to act tough towards me. He should NOT be working in a coffee shop. However this place is decent but small and sometimes gets crowded. It's a good place to go as a last resort if all other shops nearby are...

I went for a quick lunch and was quickly disappointed. The girl taking our order was very polite - the reason why this isn't a 1 star review. My wife's vanilla soy latte was watery and bland. The Americano I ordered was fine. However, the "panini" was extremely disappointing. If it were labeled "toasted sandwich," it would have been fine - overpriced, but fine. It also came out on a flimsy paper plate. If I had ordered from a food truck or they ran out of real plates, no biggie. However, there was a tall stack of real plates by the counter and the staff must have just not wanted to clean the dishes afterwards. The music was a top 40 mix. Not my taste, but not offensive. Rubbing salt in the wound, the trash was overflowing when I needed to throw the plate away. I am happy to spend money on good food. I also enjoy the value of a cheap, quick eat. This is neither. I will not be a...

Dirtiest coffee shop in Monterey. Stay away from this shop. There is mold in the pastry case… I can’t even imagine behind the counters, or back kitchen. how is this shop still running with how unsanitary it looks. Everything behind the counter looks grimy. Owner clearly doesn’t care about the shop to make this place look clean. It is visible to the eye, how old and filthy this building is. I fear some of the reviews were right about this cheap place. Pastries are also all from Costco, and extremely overpriced. Don’t come here, I suggest you go to the coffee shop down the street, higher quality and is at-least clean. On a positive note, Young ladies working were very welcoming and sweet. amazing customer service but trashy spot to get coffee and overpriced Costco food.

This Cafe had the sweetest vibes. If I had the time, would have stayed and also tried the food everything looked so delicious between what I saw on customer plates and in the bakery case. I ordered an almond mylk latte and it was truly spectacular. The almond mylk even had a generous layer of actual foam, which was hard to believe it wasn't dairy milk since it was so rich and fluffy; which is very difficult to keep with almond mylk. It lasted thu the entire drink, which was very impressive. The espresso itself had a nice flavor and roast as well. Along with excellent, and very quick service considering how busy it seemed. Will be back again next time in Monterey!

Sandwich was really good! My drink was okay. The ambience is okay. Some tables are dirty and staff don't clean them right away. My cheese danish seems to be not fresh, and i mentioned to my husband that it tasted like something you can buy from costco, and sure enough someone was delivering the baked goods and showed the tags from costco while we were there. So yeah, they charge for $5 a piece of pastry that you can get 5 pcs for 12usd in Costco! So many flies flying around too. I'm not coming back!
