Clarity House Bakery & Tea Room — Restaurant in Montgomery

A friend and I tried afternoon tea here. I was pleased with the experience and would be open to return.

The reservation process is very straightforward; you sign up on the website with email and Clarity House will send you a confirmation email. I appreciated they sent a reminder email a week in advance of the tea date since we registered multiple weeks in advance.

There is a small parking lot adjacent to the business and they recommend arriving only 10 minutes before the tea since the waiting area is small. Inside, they have a pianist playing the keyboard (instrumental only) which adds to the relaxing ambiance (perfect volume-not too loud). The owner also gives a brief history of the house and afternoon tea.

Servers come by and offer tea, and there is the option to get as many refills as you would like, and of different teas. The sandwiches and sweets are fresh and well-made. My friend liked how the sugar cookies had a thin layer of icing on them and excellent texture and flavor. Staff was attentive to refilling tea and also friendly.

We had family tea party at Clarity house last weekend and it was absolutely lovely. The atmosphere was cozy and quaint and the tea cups and plates were beautiful. The food was delicious and there were many different options for tea. We had 5 children with us and they were welcomed and encouraged to ask questions. They even offered lemonade and different sandwiches to accommodate for a young palate.

What was most inspiring about the tea experience was the warmth and engagement from the owner. Her passion, love and excitement for this establishment was obvious and it showed in the deliciousness of the food, the thoughtfulness and beauty of the decorations and design and the overall atmosphere and ambiance. Another stellar experience at Clarity House! This time I brought some friends and everyone was extremely impressed with the High Tea. I had Addy as my server again and she just makes the experience even better! She's so attentive, sweet, and funny. Such a delight! Everything is truly delicious! You simply cannot go wrong visiting Clarity House whether it's to have high tea with friends, pick up scrumptious baked goods, or have an event like a baby or bridal shower. The family who owns it is absolutely lovely and the building itself is rich with local history. I cannot recommend this charming hidden...
