Deeper Roots Coffee - A Cozy Gem with Quality Brews
I recently visited Deeper Roots Coffee in Cincinnati, and itâs safe to say this spot is a hidden gem for coffee lovers. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance â itâs small, quaint, and intimate. Not library-quiet, but calm enough that I could sit down with a book, sip my coffee, and feel completely at ease without distractions or overwhelming noise.
The barista was fantastic â courteous, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about coffee, which always makes the experience better.
â The Coffee Experience
I ordered their Single Origin Ethiopian Shantawene as a pour-over, and wow â it was a treat. As soon as I poured it, that beautiful blueberry note hit me â fragrant yet delicate, never overpowering. The cup had a pleasant sweetness with a medium body, balanced acidity, and a floral, medium finish. The clarity in the cup was impressive â light, clean, and refreshing. The pour-over itself took around 5 minutes, and the result was well worth the wait.
I also tried their Honey Bear Latte, which was subtly impressive. The oat milk wasnât silky, but it had a frothy texture that felt just right â not too airy like bubbles, but also not as heavy as cream. The oat milk played a supporting role, allowing the gentle warmth of honey and cinnamon to shine through. It didnât hit with bold flavors, but instead gave off this wonderfully cozy, comforting vibe â like curling up with a warm blanket next to someone you love.
đ„ Final Thoughts
Deeper Roots isnât trying to be flashy, but thatâs what makes it special. Itâs inviting, calm, and serves seriously good coffee. Whether youâre a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a chill spot to unwind, this place is well worth a visit. Iâll definitely be back the next time...
Read moreBefore this location opened, I already had lots of love for the Oakley location, so no surprise I'm loving this one too. It's a little more spacious inside, has lots of natural light, outdoor seating, and great service/people. Outlets and WiFi make it a good place to get some work done, too. For drinks: the iced honey bear latte (oat milk) was well-balanced with subtle sweetness; I'd drink it any day. The holy moly cappuccino (mac milk) had strong flavor and a nice kick; it also was not overwhelmingly sweet and was a lovable drink for my fellow "spicy" drink lovers. They had a loaded baked goods case at 2-3pm both times I visited, and everything looked amazing. I'll definitely be back to try more, and...
Read moreWe just left this coffee bar. We were so excited to enter and sit down to have a nice coffee as we just moved to Montgomery . I rarely do reviews, however the barista upon entering seemed rushed, was counting the cash from the drawer and seemed inconvenienced by our entry. She also told us they were closing at 4. It made us feel that we should leave quickly. It was 3:48 when she made this comment - and we didnât plan on spending hours we just wanted to have a snack with our kids. Sadly we probably wonât return. Not because of the food or coffee but because we didnât feel welcome. And I...
