Kozue Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Montgomery

What's the point of a pick-up time if it isn't actually ready at that time. Just make the next time for pick up. the first pick-up time... As there is nowhere for pick-up orders to wait. Even though the restaurant is empty. So I waited in the humidity(~%60) and heat(85°F). I wasn't sure how traffic was going to be as this is my first time. I made the mistake of showing up early 10 mins, so I waited outside the door for 25 mins. I would have just come back, but when I showed up, the front assured me it was only going to be 10 mins. The hot food was good, but the cold sushi roll and salad was now warm and gross. The cold stuff was sitting and waiting on the warm food for 15 minutes. Im sure dine-in is fine, but they need work on togo timing. Oh, and maybe when I ask how long, have the front actually go ask instead for making up a time that sounds nice. I was going to to Kozue for sushi. I left with a fabulous yakitori AND sushi experience. I highly recommend the following; for yakitori, beginner should get the pork belly and the beef. For more experienced people try the chicken skin and the pork toro. If I could have, I also would have tri e the chicken hearts. For sushi, I asked for one order of the salmon nigiri which was fabulous and my husband had a roll that was great and filled him up (I cannot remember which it was). Next time I go I will be trying the spicy miso ramen, chicken hearts, and the crazy roll. Also get the hot saki and the lychee...

Please read to the end: We had a problem with the menu not disclosing that some fish is mixed with tempura flakes, which is dangerous for someone like me with a gluten allergy. The waitress also did not inform us after being told of my allergy. That being said, the owner personally reached out to apologize and informed me that they are training their staff, which I appreciate and believe will correct the issue going forward.
