I really didn't want to leave this negative review. In fact, I emailed them (Lorraine) about what happened at my child's 10th birthday party that we paid $403 for. When there was no response, I also forwarded it to the general manager (Dylan) with no response. And from the look of all of the negative reviews here, I can only expect some kitchy response from the customer service/marketing team.
Here's the email I sent (which is my review in a nutshell):
I wanted to follow up regarding an issue with the gaming cards at my son’s party, as the experience was confusing not only for the children, but for adults as well.
From my understanding, the cards included with the package had $25 loaded onto them, and the additional $5 I paid was meant for unlimited play. That’s what we explained to the children, but many came back upset because their cards kept flashing red. When I asked the manager, I was told the games sometimes “glitch.” We reassured the kids to try again, but the issue kept happening.
Eventually, I was told the $25 could be used for any game, but once that was spent, only the blue and green games were available—not the purple ones. The kids, being just 10 years old, had no idea how much of the $25 they had already used. Even then, they showed me that their cards were flashing red on green games that should’ve worked. I watched it happen myself on both a wristband and a card. When I pointed this out, the manager added more money to those accounts to stop further issues, but by then most of the kids were frustrated and left.
The problems continued, though—it often took 3–4 taps before a game would actually register. I ended up spending most of the party dealing with card issues instead of enjoying the celebration. For a party that cost $403, that was incredibly disappointing.
For future parties, I’d strongly recommend that the included cards work universally across all games, without children and parents having to figure out complicated rules or deal with broken systems. Being told the machines “glitch” doesn’t instill much confidence and really felt like an excuse rather than a solution.
Lastly, I wanted to flag something I noticed on my receipt. A $60 “Extra Service Charge” was included, which I was told was gratuity. However, below the pricing there’s another section suggesting an additional gratuity amount ($63.88 in my case). If I hadn’t specifically asked, I might’ve tipped twice. That feels misleading and could easily catch parents off guard.
Overall, the experience left me frustrated and disappointed, and I hope these concerns can be addressed so future families don’t go...
Read moreIf I could give a 0 i would... We have been to Dave and Busters in Plymouth meeting and time Square and we were very excited to get one closer to home. We went there for my sons birthday 8/24 we spent well over 300 dollars for him and his friends to play. We didn't get a table because we were really only there to play. We asked the one man what do we do if we just wanted to order drinks. He told us to go over to the bar. So that is what we did we had 8 people we were buying drinks for so me and my husband went over to the bar to get them our daughter and her friend came too to help carry them back to the other 4 kids still playing. The girls sat at the bar immediately Chris the girl behind the bar came over and VERY rudely said the girls can't be here and my husband said oh we are just getting drinks and going back over to play and she repeated herself we understood why so the girls got up and went and sat at a table right behind where my husband was sitting and I was standing at the bar. Chris eventually came back over and didn't say what can I get you she again rudely said I need to see some IDs and my husband said oh no we just want some sodas. She then took our order. She brought them over to us and just shoved them in my face and then rudely said "also you can't just sit at the tables you need to wait to be seated" I was standing and so was my husband the girls were sitting but Chris already knew that we were not staying and she even gave us to go cups for the drinks. I tried explaining we were confused because we were not sure where to go to wait for the drinks and she gave me the biggest additude, so I said that it was ridiculous. This lady then turns around laughs in my face and said your ridiculous. So I then said no your ridiculous. And I asked for a manger. I was so appalled at how she treated me and my family right from the start. She honestly needs to be reprimanded because that is no way to treat guests she needs to be trained on hospitality again... she should not be working directly with the public. However Nicole the manger handled the situation very well. I don't think we will be returning to this location I will take the drive to Plymouth meeting they are very nice and...
Read moreThis is the first time me and my brother have ever went to a Dave & Buster's in our lifetime. We went to the Moosic, Pa location on 10-2-24. We were both mostly satisfied with the experience. However we are slightly disappointed. Their main food entree were not properly portioned for the price you pay. I would consider them small portion size. Also their main entree dishes taste okay However don't expect it to be restaurant quality grade food (For example: we got the Chicken Parmesan and it was dry, overcooked, and etc). If you want better tasting well-made Chicken Parmesan for $15 it is better to go to Olive garden instead who specializes in that food category. Dave & Buster's has Good Bar Quality Food that you would find at your local Bar. However I will NOT consider them a good Restaurant Quality Food.
Me and my girlfriend went back to Dave & Buster's the following day on10/3/2024. The Food service was very slow and it wasn't even crowded in there. There was only 5 more couples other than us there. We got the all you can eat wings for $23. That was a joke because they give you 7 Wings, 2 celery, and a dip on the first plate in which you can finish eating in 5 minutes. Then you have to wait for the waitress to come back 15 minutes later. Then you have to wait another 15 minutes for the next plate of wings which only contains 4 wings, no celery, and Dip. Even then throughout the night we ordered other food and the waitress kept mixing our orders up. It shouldn't take 30 minutes to get a refill of all that you can eat chicken wings and only get 4 on your plate.
Called the Dave & Buster's customer service experience number that was provided to me by the owner of this location as posted in a response to my review on 10/4/24. Explained everything to the person on the phone who's from Texas. He said he will send all this feedback to the general manager at the Mossic, pa location and I should be receiving some sort of phone call or email for follow-up from the manager. It is currently 10/7/24 I still have not received any phone calls from any Dave and buster affiliates. Sounds like they just give you a phone number to call just to vent and not do...
