Tried Panera bread about 10 years ago in Knoxville, TN and was very disappointed but thought I'd give Panera Bread Morehead City, NC a try/chance. But, it seems not much has changed even with the change in geography. Food substandard and not worth the cost. Staff will let you order a tomato and basil pizza flat and not inform you they are out of basil, so you end up with tomato sauce on a piece of toast. Order half a grilled cheese sandwich and apparently got the smaller half with a small bowl of chicken noodle soup that smelled like it had been frozen then microwaved. Staff was friendly even if they were pre-occupied with the devices and cell phones. Restaurant was clean as were the bathrooms. Overall, a very poor experience and fool me twice but never again. We left Panera bread and headed towards New Bern and had to stop at a McDonalds since we were both still hungry. Save your money and go...
Read moreFood Is tasty and fresh, but the reason I wanted to write a review was because I have been dissatisfied with my order a few times before. For instance, last week I went by after work go grab some dinner and ordered a whole ham and bacon sandwich with lettuce tomato and onio with no cheese and with bread on the side. When I opened by bag halfway home, I realized they had given me a HALF sandwich with 2 slices of bacon and with lettuce and tomato.....NO HAM...with chips as a side. I was so disappointed since I live 20 minutes away and it wasn't worth going back.

Read moreThe people working here are pretty nice, but the girl up front probably could have used some help taking orders as not everyone is comfortable with doing their own on the tablets. They might have had someone coming in soon though since it was almost 11 and lunch time would be starting soon. My grilled cheese with chicken was okay.... not much cheese to it, but was still good. I also got the cream of chicken and wild rice soup, which is my go-to, but for some reason it wasn't thick and creamy at all. Very watery and bland.... hopefully they had just mixed it for lunch and it hadn't quite gotten its nornal consistency yet. I would try eating here again though to give it a few more chances. My other also ate with me and thoroughly enjoyed her broccoli...
