We enter and the restaurant and there is plenty of seating, however it took a while for the three hosts/hostesses to figure out our table. Not a big deal but funny.
Atmosphere was fine, pub with sports on TV, exactly what we were looking for.
Things started out good with our very nice waitress coming to order drinks, first round came and we ordered an appetizer, She told us the kitchen was backed up and the appetizer would take 15-20 minutes, so we ordered our dinners at the same time and asked her to bring out whatever was ready when it was ready.
Now it goes south. We watched patrons throughout the restaurant waiting and looking around for their food our entire time we were sitting there. Rounds of drinks were very slow but they did keep coming. Our waitress apologized over and over about the food wait, she was really nice, which is why I gave 2 stars and not 1. In the end it took 2 HOURS to get our food, and when it was finally delivered we had no napkins nor silverware! I was so hungry I was eating my food with my fingers, and it wasn't finger food. And the food was not all that, very basic fair.
My suggestion to the restaurant, if the kitchen is not staffed properly, then don't seat people. The ones you do seat take good care of them. You'd have a lot happier customers and will turn over tables better than letting people sit unsatisfied for hours. And I mean hours. It really...
Read moreThis place would get a -7 if that were an option!! With all the other properly functioning establishments nearby you should absolutely avoid this one. The pros: Awesome name/logo/sign...and then its all cons. We order 2 beers & ask to sit outside. Rather than giving us our beers to take there, the bearded "bartender" says he'll send them out with a server & menus. 28 minutes of sitting there & the blonde waitress stood within 3 feet of us more than a dozen times & acknowledged us less than 1 time. The one & only table she was tending to told us that she was horrendous & we should leave but how hard is it to get 2 beers & a menu so we stayed. Never did get those beers. There were less than 20 people here & the majority of those were just there to hear the music from the packed place next door. After a half hour of silence we finally flagged down a slightly more attentive server for a menu. The menu was uninspiring to say the least & I'm guessing that's why it was mostly empty on a Friday night. Sheetz has a more appealing menu trust me. We watched the "security" guy who was selectivity checking id's spend more time dancing, vaping, & looking like a clown than doing anything that would warrant a paycheck. West Virginia is a special place with the most amazing people ever...the state truly is Almost Heaven but sadly the establishment Almost Heaven is in no way fit to be in...
Read moreMy family and I were visiting WVU on a college tour with our twins. My husband and I wanted to experience the night life while our twins navigated the campus and spent time with their cousin who attends WVU. We started our night at Almost Heaven and while enjoying great conversations with other parents we then overheard the “lead” bouncer talking to other bouncers. He could benefit to be educated on defamation and labile. He was using formal names and making very serious accusations that could be clearly heard. He presented as a bully, not a bouncer and definitely should not be the “lead” of the other young impressionable men. It would be my pleasure to provide legal guidance to the victims of this man. We were so appalled by this conversation we took out notes, paid for our drinks and exited in disgust. The rest of the nightlife at WVU was unremarkable and typical of a...
