We’ve eaten at Tony Rigatoni’s multiple times and usually it’s decent but nothing over the top. Our most recent visit last week, however, was really great service-wise. They had a wait for outdoor seating so we decided to grab drinks at the bar and the server that helped us could not have been nicer or more personable. I ordered a red wine and she offered a taste before I committed and then offered another wine taster as well just in case. Seems like no one does this anymore. Our dinner server was also super friendly, prompt, and personable. Everyone working seemed like they genuinely enjoyed it. The food was good too. We did the mussels diavolo with shrimp. The sauce is a red sauce and slightly spicy. I don’t think the shrimp really added a ton but they were fine in it, the mussels were good in themselves. We also had salad, which was fresh and piled high, same for the garlic cheese bread - the half is a huge portion and great for soaking up the mussels broth. For dinner we tried the fettuccine della casa, which was pretty good. The atmosphere in the evening with the lights and vines is really great. We’ll be back soon! Update just for a note on some good food worth trying: we came back with some out of town guests and had another good meal. Service was a bit slower (I think the server actually forgot to put our order in and then put in a wrong item and had to redo it, but they were very nice about it and took care of the problem immediately) but we enjoyed the lovely patio and company. But it’s totally worth noting, the Brussels salad was so good! I highly recommend it! That and the pesto gnocchi! Both were delicious and I’ll be ordering both again!

If I could leave zero stars for the food I would like that very much. I am super angry at how awful the food was. I love to leave reviews and give restaurants good props. I am so angry about our experience and the expense $$$ that I would like for this to be my most scathing review I've ever left. It was expensive, it was supposed to be a treat. There were two of us, and we ordered three entrees. We were excited and wanted to try more than two things. We ordered an extra entree to share. ONE of those three entrees was O.K. Just Okay. Boy were we dumb to give this place another /extra $30. The other two entrees were just plain awful. The Cara Mia was okay, it probably could have been improved with a pinch of salt. My friend declined to add salt, he just glumly powered through eating it. He declined to help in any way about eating any of the other two items after tasting them. He shared his willingly with me, but it was bland and nothing special so I ignored it and picked at my Spaghetti with Clams, and the Penne Vodka. The Spaghetti with Clams tasted like pasta water. I am exaggerating in no way. I had my friend taste it, he only said "it's like there's no wine, no garlic, no salt nothing just the remaining water that the noodles were cooked in." Oh there were clams, but they weren't enough to give that pasta flavor. And there were some bits of parsley and clearly a sauce had been added. The plate wasn't very watery, so it wasn't like it hadn't been drained well enough and diluted the sauce, the sauce simply had zero flavor. It is genuinely the worst entree I have ever gotten in any Italian restaurant ever. I tried adding salt and it didn't do much, we were seated at the bar so I asked the bartender for some lemon wedges. That helped, but it was just so awful and bland. I told the bartender that it had no flavor and just tasted like pasta water, she made sad noises and absolutely nothing was done about my dissatisfaction. I am deeply offended about the expense of that entire meal. I brought the spaghetti and clams home, I will make a sauce with some vermouth and butter, and try to make it edible so I don't feel like money was completely thrown away. The penne vodka pasta was overcooked and stuck together in glompy clumps here and there. The sauce was oddly sweet, and zero hint of piquant vodka btw, I could have handled that probably even though I didn't love it, but the texture of the pasta was a lot to try to power through.

The staff was friendly. But ignoring my unhappiness with at least two out of three entrees was lousy lousy egregiously bad service, and I will not condone it. I want a refund but it was clear that that was not going to happen. I hate that our night was ruined by this awful food. I drove 30 minutes to meet my friend at this restaurant. What a waste of my time, optimism, and gas money. To boot, I also feel bad about my friend allowing me to choose a restaurant and then experiencing that lousy meal himself. The staff failed us. I hope that other people who were as dissatisfied as me leave multiple honest reviews. I am not wishing this...

Really let down by this place. First, we called ahead because the FAQ on their website says when they're on a wait they will take call aheads if you're there within 20ish minutes. Well, that's not (or no longer) true. Not a huge deal, and to their credit when we got there, they told us it would be a 30 minute wait and we got in there a little sooner. When we were seated on their main-level patio we were pretty impressed with the ambiance. It's really nice, cozy, and dare I say... romantic. So that's a plus. And that's where the addition ends. It was all subtraction from there. We ordered garlic bread with cheese and some sauce on top, "as an appetizer." When thirty minutes had gone by we were finally told that our garlic bread had been given to another table. We were simply asked, "do you still want it?" We said no. Ten minutes later (40 minutes after ordering) we were told they were just going to bring us the garlic bread anyway, but not charge us for it. Another five minutes later and just the garlic bread came out. When I asked (45 minutes after ordering) how the rest of the food was doing, the server got pretty defensive blaming the back-of-house and the fact that they have two levels and things are given to the wrong levels regularly. Sounds like an issue they may want to address. Ten minutes later (about 55 minutes after ordering) our food came out... and THANKFULLY it was terribly bland. Had the food been delicious, I may have wanted to come back. --- Now, I want to caveat this experience with, I know there's a labor shortage going on, and they seemed maybe shortstaffed? I couldn't tell. They definitely weren't busy. But even a half-empty restaurant can be a lot with a quarter of your staff. (Especially being short in the kitchen). However, other tables around us seemed to be getting appropriate service and food. Especially, the one behind us that got sat 20 minutes after us and got garlic bread 20 minutes before us. (Ours I'm sure). So this easily could've just been a bad night for them. However, I judge restaurants not just at their best but at their worst. Some of my favorite places were not great experiences on the first attempt, but their attitudes and how they dealt with their failures made us come back. This place dropped the ball, then picked it up and spiked it in our faces. There was no acknowledgement of shortcomings, it was just a "sorry everything sucks, enjoy the rest of your night" mentality. And because of that, I have no intention of...

Went there last Sunday with my brother, mom and grandmother. The service was probably the worst I have had. I worked I'm the restaurant industry for 8 years and I know things can go wrong but this was far different. It took the waitress about 10 mins before she even noticed we were there and came to greet us. I kid you not it took another 10 mins for here to bring out drinks. We had nothing fancy...2 waters, ice tea, and a coke. She then took our order immediately. We probably waited for 15 mins for the salads that looked like they were from a store bought bag with cheese sprinkled on top and a cheery tomato thrown in. When the server finally did bring the salad, one of the dressings was wrong and she began to argue that she had it right. Once the food came it was decent. Oh and I forgot to add that she didn't bring the bread til dinner which was supposed to come out with the salads. Also the bread was over cooked and kind of hard. Like I said above the food was decent, not OK or good but decent. However, when your paying $18 a plate (on the low end) and the pizza you ordered tasted like it was a Tony's pizza you buy at the grocery story you tend to be a little upset. After the food was delivered the server never even came back to make sure everything was OK. I had to finally grab the bus boy to refill my water and then again layer to grab is boxes. When the server saw the boxes she acted surprised and said "done already huh". Mind you this was probably 45 mins after we received our entrees. The server then said she would be right back with the bill. She never came back and I had to grab someone else to finally get it. Here is there cherry on top the server combined our bill with another tables and ran a credit already for part of the bill. When we finally did pay, we paid a couple dollars more then it was supposed to be just so we could leave. I kid you not, I don't think I could make this story up if I tried. Oh BTW I ended up tipping the bus boy more than I...
