The short version: I can not recommend Bawarchi.
The long version: My friend and I were passing through town and decided to stop for Indian food. Before we entered Bawarchi we both commented on the wonderful smell coming from inside and were excited to eat there. We placed our order: chai (they were out), samosas, 2 different curries, and 2 orders of naan (one with butter and another without for my friends dietary restrictions). The samosas came out quickly and they were fine. Then we began our long, long wait for food. There were two other tables sitting next to us, one of two ladies, another of three people. Both of them got their food quickly but both tables also had problems with their food. While we were waiting on our curry they brought the wrong order to the party of threes table twice and I overheard the table of two saying they never got items they ordered. My curry was brought out but I didn’t want to eat it in front of my friend when he didn’t have his food yet. 10 minutes to by and his curry hasn’t arrived. We ask our server about it. He jokes that it will be ready in 4 hours. Another 10 minutes go by, the server says it will only be a minute more. At this point my curry is getting cold, so we both split the food onto two plates and share my dinner. After we had eaten all of it, finally my friends curry comes out. I ask the waiter about the naan bread, and eventually, after all the curry is gone, the naan bread is presented. The buttered and unbuttered naan is all mixed together, so my friend cannot eat any, and there is no curry to dip the bread into anymore. Through the evening the owner, Guru, stopped at each table to greet the guests, and then again to do damage control due to all of the incorrect/missing orders. He was very charismatic and personable, though he did tell my friend that he should not have any dietary restrictions without knowing if it was for medical reasons or not. Still, we laughed it off when he showed us his biceps and bragged about being 70 and muscular. When we paid at the register the cashier explained to us that my friends curry was so late because it was delivered to the wrong table and they had to make it over. He kindly offered to take it off of the bill for us, which we did appreciate. All in all the food itself was ok, although not mind blowing, but the service was abysmal despite the staff being polite. As we were leaving my friend and I both agreed that we should have gone to the Mexican...
Read moreIf you're in search of an authentic Indian dining experience, look no further than Barwarchi in Mount Juliet, TN. Our visit to this culinary gem was nothing short of extraordinary, and we highly recommend everyone to indulge in the delectable offerings here. It might just be the best Indian food restaurant in the area.
Ambiance and Service: From the moment we walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the stage for a delightful evening. The décor, with its rich colors and traditional Indian motifs, created an atmosphere that was both cozy and elegant. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and eager to ensure that our dining experience was impeccable.
The Feast:
Garlic Naan: The garlic naan was the perfect start to our meal. Freshly baked in a traditional tandoor oven, the bread was wonderfully soft on the inside with a slightly crisp exterior. The garlic was finely chopped and generously spread, infusing each bite with a robust and aromatic flavor. It paired beautifully with the other dishes and was a delightful standalone treat as well.
Chicken Tikka Masala: Our main course featured the renowned Chicken Tikka Masala, and it did not disappoint. The chicken pieces were succulent, having been marinated in a blend of spices and yogurt before being grilled to perfection. The creamy tomato-based sauce was rich and velvety, with just the right amount of spice to tantalize the taste buds without overwhelming them. Each bite was a harmonious blend of flavors, making this dish a standout on the menu.
Mango Lassi: To complement our meal, we opted for the Mango Lassi. This traditional Indian yogurt-based drink was a refreshing choice. It was thick, smooth, and bursting with the sweet and tangy flavors of ripe mangoes. The lassi provided a perfect counterbalance to the spiciness of the Chicken Tikka Masala and served as a delightful palate cleanser.
Conclusion: Our dining experience at Barwarchi in Mount Juliet, TN, was nothing short of spectacular. The combination of exceptional food, welcoming ambiance, and outstanding service made for an unforgettable meal. Whether you are a connoisseur of Indian cuisine or a newcomer eager to explore, this restaurant offers something for everyone.
We highly recommend Barwarchi to anyone looking for an authentic and thoroughly enjoyable Indian dining experience. Make sure to try the Garlic Naan, Chicken Tikka Masala, and Mango Lassi – they are truly not...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at an Indian restaurant and was thoroughly impressed with the variety and quality of both their vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, as well as their biryani. Firstly, the vegetarian options were outstanding. The menu had an impressive selection of dishes that catered to different dietary preferences and included a range of appetizers, curries, and side dishes. The paneer tikka was a particular standout - the paneer was cooked to perfection and had a delicious smoky flavor. The aloo gobi and chana masala were also delicious, with perfectly balanced flavors and spices. The non-vegetarian options were equally impressive. The chicken tikka was succulent and had a great smoky flavor. The lamb rogan josh was another highlight - the meat was tender and juicy, and the flavors of the curry were well balanced and aromatic. However, the star of the show was undoubtedly the biryani. The restaurant offered both chicken and vegetable biryanis, and both were absolutely delicious. The rice was perfectly cooked and fragrant, with layers of aromatic spices, and the meat and vegetables were cooked to perfection. The accompanying raita and papad were the perfect accompaniments to this hearty and flavorful dish. Overall, I was extremely impressed with this Indian restaurant's variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options and their exceptional biryani. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was inviting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an authentic and delicious Indian...
