To Whom It May Concern,
This is a formal complaint, but don’t worry—I’m keeping it light, like a smoothie that never got made.
On Friday, April 18th, I placed an order at your Mt. Pleasant location (976 Houston Northcutt Blvd., Order #34648747593908226). I ordered a Vegan Nutty Super Grain—because I care about my health, my vibes, and let’s be honest, it just sounded fancy. I paid $13.71 for that bad boy, including a tip, because I like to believe in karma.
The confirmation said it would be ready at 6:47 PM. You close at 7:00 PM. Now, I may not be Einstein, but last I checked, 6:47 comes before 7:00. So I did what any smoothie-loving adult would do—I hopped on my bike and rode like the wind, dodging potholes and existential dread, just to get there on time.
And what did I find when I arrived? Locked doors. No lights. Staff inside pretending I was a ghost. It was like I’d biked all that way for the illusion of health. They told me, deadpan, “we’re closed.” I looked at my watch. It said “betrayal.”
I was told someone would follow up with me the next day. You know what I got instead? Silence. Not even a courtesy email. Just me and my fading hope, staring into the smoothie-less abyss.
So let’s keep it simple: I want a full refund. You took my money, but left me smoothie-less and spiritually bruised. And considering I biked there like a granola-fueled gladiator only to be rejected at the gates, I think a little extra is fair. Free smoothie? Store credit? A commemorative plaque? Surprise me.
Because if I wanted to pay $13.71 for disappointment, I’d buy concert tickets from Craigslist.
Please get back to me soon. I’d love to resolve this before I start showing up in front of the store with a boombox, playing sad breakup songs and whispering “where’s my protein?”
I’m all about forgiveness—but only after...
Read moreEvelyn (I said Ellie but I meant Evelyn) makes beautiful smoothies. However, there is a man who gets easily overwhelmed and he does not know how to make smoothies half as good as her. He does say “I apologize for the wait guys, we’re swamped and it’s super busy”, and he repeats this repeatedly. But it rubs you in a condescending way because look, we know there’s a wait. We see your thriving business. We’re not mad. We’re happy that we’re about to get a bomb smoothie (or that is the home-bred expectation at least). Just handle the crowd w grace dude. Because in actuality if you watch him, he’s grumpily mumbling and making irritated facial expressions and rolling his eyes. Which is shocking because observing people see this, so why not just maintain composure while creating smoothies for smoothie-loving people. He leaves his smoothies extremely gritty (the reason I stopped going to tropical smoothie) instead of caring about the detailed but simple process of making a beautiful smoothie. You can easily taste when someone knows what they’re doing and when someone does not. Someone needs to make sure these young men are caring about the smoothies they produce and that they are well-trained in how each smoothie *should be made based on their unique ingredients. Please. It makes me not so happy to even order anymore knowing that I’ll get a subpar smoothie rather than the normal supreme standard I am used to and fell in...
Read moreI ordered smoothie king from the doordash app and set to pickup and when I went to get it at the estimated time it wasn’t ready, which is not a problem, what was a problem, was how they were talking about me without knowing I was the doordash customer and not a driver.
I am not familiar with the chain and have not been there before, but I will definitely not return. I have a dairy allergy and cannot have it at all. So I took out those ingredients when I ordered.
When they were making my order, they expressed frustration with my order not blending and kept bashing the orderer for not “picking the right ingredients”
I have doordashed before and I know that you can communicate with the driver to adjust the order in any way. In this case they should have asked if the customer wanted to add anything to help make it smoother. Which did not happen. They rushed through and left me with a heavy disappointment of a smoothie
To make things EVEN WORSE, the girl who handed me my straw along with my drink told me (assuming Im the doordash driver) to tell the customer (who is actually me) to “pick the right ingredients next time” .
I am appalled at the attitude and lack of ANY professionalism in the staff.
I will most definitely not be coming back and advise you all to avoid this...
