I wish I had read reviews before going here. My girlfriend and I stopped here to eat dinner after a day in McCloud and we love Italian food. However, the prices of this place could only be justified by actual Italian food which is being prepared with fresh quality ingredients. We ordered the fried raviolis for an appetizer and it tasted like something out of a frozen box with a slight freezer burn to it. My girlfriend ordered gnocchi with pesto and sausage, and she is a big fan of gnocchi, but not egg shells in her gnocchi. She almost threw up from that. The sausage she said wasn’t good and I love sausage, so I gave it a try and it was not good at all. It had a very weird taste to it as if maybe it was spoiling, but I don’t think it was. I decided to order their “house favorite” fried chicken with a pasta side. The sauce on my pasta tasted like something out of a can, and the fried chicken, I hate to say it, would have been better from KFC. There was little to no flavor in any of our dishes. All of the food was very bland, overpriced, and small in portion. The service wasn’t “bad” but it wasn’t good either. Our waitress didn’t even ask how our food was and didn’t bother to inquire as to why we didn’t eat the majority of our meal and refused boxes. After this experience I read reviews on this place and it seems that they have gone downhill since reopening. Possibly new owners? New cooks? I’m not sure. I am definitely not a picky eater, but I would never recommend anyone to try this place unless they lower their prices a lot, or better yet, just actually make good Italian food. I’ve never said this about a restaurant but I literally felt scammed. Anyone leaving a review saying this food is amazing must have lost their taste...

Traveling and stayed in Shasta for a night. Got take out from here. What a mess. No accurate menu online, anywhere. The girl taking our order seemed really bothered, and kept saying “we don’t have that anymore”. Got there to pick it up and the girl who brought us our food must have been the same girl. No smile, bad attitude, told us to sign our check and leave it on the bar, then walked away. (Name says Leslie R). A lot of the prices on the receipt were double what we saw online. With them refusing to put their updated menu online there’s no way to tell what you should be paying.

Noticed later at the hotel that they gave themselves an 18% tip! For take out! With the same to go containers we would have used for leftovers, and after zero service and an unwelcoming waitress. Outrageous!

Got back to the hotel to find they threw pats of butter into the bag, loose, and the hot food melted it. It was all over everything, pooled in the bag, and we discovered it leaked in the car. Finally sat down to eat. Absolutely dismal. Frozen Costco tortellini and bland sauce. The garlic bread with kalamata was good, and my husband loved the prawns he added to his. But the rest went into the trash. Would not...

I wrote a review already, this is my response to it.

What’s the difference between me sitting down or taking my food to go? It’s the same food, same amount of time to make—yet somehow it was an issue.

It was late on a Wednesday night. Not the weekend, not a rush, and the place wasn’t even busy. So why was it a problem to get my food to go? Makes zero sense.

The worst part? Instead of a simple apology or any kind of decent customer service, I got a rude, snarky response. I’ve been here multiple times before—I was a loyal customer. Not anymore.

If you can’t handle takeout orders, don’t offer them. There’s nothing posted on your door or your website saying anything about restrictions. The lack of communication is ridiculous.

I ended up going to Sparky’s down the street. They were about to close in 20 minutes and STILL happily took care of me—that’s how you treat people.

So if you're thinking about trying this place, don’t. There are better options with better food and way...

My family and I enjoyed this restaurant, the service, and the food. The pasta dishes were delicious. The house salad - basic, with lots of spring mix greens, few croutons and few cherry tomatoes, had good seasoning. The minestrone and clam chowder were good, but just lukewarm, which wasn't too bad on a hot day. The raspberry gelato was excellent, but the fish and chips were "meh". Overall, it was a solid dining experience. Parking was easy to find. No happy hour, as me tio ed on other reviews. You can order any pasta in a child size or kids chicken fingers and chips, for $10.

This place is old school, but they haven't lost their touch! Everything was cooked perfectly and the ingredients seemed fresh. We got a caesar salad, linguine with clams, chicken piccata, and fried ravioli. The fried ravioli is different than St. Louis style toasted ravioli - it has less breading and is filled with ricotta, but it's very good. The chicken was perfectly cooked. I loved that they put fresh anchovies on top of the caesar salad. The clams were delicious and the pasta sauce was light, with a nice amount of garlic.
