If you’re in the mood for a culinary escapade that’s part delightful dining and part playful performance, look no further than Bar Louie! Tucked away in The Avenue, this charming eatery is a feast for the senses, where the food is as cheeky as the decor, and the entire staff is a gem.
As I stepped inside, I was welcomed by a larger-than-life mural of Murfreesboro, and I felt immediately at home in this magical Bar kingdom. The atmosphere buzzed with laughter, mingling perfectly with the clinking of glasses and the unmistakable scent of something delicious cooking in the kitchen.
The star of the evening was the Service, but let’s not forget about the cocktails either! The Bar is run by two of the most entertaining mixologists you could ask for: Allissa and Erick. Erick, with his fresh haircut and quick wit, was mixing up a storm, and every drink he crafted seemed to have its own personality. My cocktail experience was refreshing and sparkly—just like my evening!
Allissa, on the other hand, brought her own flair to the bar. She had an infectious energy and a penchant for puns that made every interaction feel like a mini performance. I laughed so hard throughout the evening I almost spilled my drinks and if I could give her an Academy Award I certainly would.
Throughout the evening, the service was impeccable, attentive and full of charisma, joining in on the fun while making sure I was well taken care of. In fact, the entire staff seemed genuinely invested in creating a joyful experience, which made the evening feel even more special. Together, Erick and Allissa created a lively atmosphere that made the bar feel like the heart of the restaurant.
In summary, Bar Louie, is more than just a restaurant; it’s an experience that leaves you with a full belly and a happy heart. Whether you’re seeking a playful atmosphere, memorable food, or some well-crafted cocktails, you’re in for a treat. Do yourself a favor and make a reservation—just be prepared to leave with a smile, a satisfied appetite, and perhaps a newfound love for all things...
Read moreServers pressured to get reviews, and manipulative tactics to reach their goal? There's nothing authentic about that.
I'm all for businesses that encourage customers to leave a review... but the manager of this location apparently REQUIRES them of their servers. I was told she couldn't leave until she had five, which was either entirely made up by the server to accomplish a goal or reach an incentive from management, or the truth but reflecting management who puts a ridiculous amount of pressure on their servers to obtain reviews. Neither reason is good.
It didn't feel genuine at all, it felt manipulative.
Nice people helping out a server begging for a review simply isn't an authentic reflection of how they felt about the restaurant.
If you left a review due to pressure from a server, and you weren't sure you would have left one otherwise, consider taking it down.
That being said, here is my review of the actual restaurant, bad review practices aside. Nice server who checked in often, good cocktail at a good price, ridiculously poor acoustics (deafening). I didn't try the food, although my companion did and it looked great.
I am not a fan of restaurants that deliberately leave off the 15% tip option on their payment devices, pushing for 18-20%. Most people won't take time to manually calculate a 15% tip, and restaurants count on this. Everyone is asked to over-tip almost everywhere we go now, and it's a huge pet peeve of mine. It also feels manipulative. A tip is intended to reward good service, not be an expectation....
Read moreOn Wednesday, June 19th me and two of my friends went to Bar Louie for drinks. There were maybe two tables with customers outside, and just one other group at the bar - the place was empty. At first, the service was fine. However, after our first round of drinks we sat there waiting for at least 10 minutes for one of the two bartenders to come over and ask if we wanted another round. One of my friends who was with me use to bartend, so I know for a fact no one sitting at a bar should ever have to wait that long, especially when the place is dead. I finally called the male bartender over (it was one male and one female) and told him we’ve been waiting, to which he replied something along the lines of “I’m here by myself.” When I said to him there is the other bartender, he made a comment about her dealing with money or paperwork or something in a really rude way. I responded with, okay we probably won’t be coming back here again. He then proceeded to tell us that he didn’t care and how he doesn’t need our money, etc etc. and proceeded to go back at us for a solid few minutes while we were getting our bill and getting ready to leave. All he had to do was apologize for the wait and we would have been okay. But he was extremely combative, rude, and his comments were not only uncalled for but completely unacceptable in a customer service establishment. I really hope that isn’t the norm of how he treats customers … and if it is no wonder why this place is always dead and no one goes there. Please, take the empty...
