As someone who also works in the food service industry, I’m not one to complain when it comes to poor service/bad food when I go out, especially when you know that this is someone’s only way to earn their livelihood. But when my dad’s Father’s Day plans were cancelled and I saw that Krispy Kreme was open, I placed an order for pickup an hour before closing thinking I the doughnuts were already made for the day and my order would just be there waiting for me, and paid for when I stopped by to pick it up. So I rode my bike over and knocked on the locked dining room door (thinking I wouldn’t be allowed to pull my bike through the drive thru) only to be ignored by the young, blonde high-school age looking girl laughing and talking with someone behind the counter. I waited a few seconds standing there, thinking I would be met in just a moment. But when I wasn’t acknowledged, I knocked harder. When she finally looked over at me I smiled and just waved my Krispy Kreme order I had pulled up on my phone. She obnoxiously rolled her eyes and shook her head and pointed to the drive thru. Which would’ve been great to know the first time I knocked. I pulled through the drive thru and over to the window and waited there for a few minutes when she came to the window and said “yes?”. I let her know that I placed an order for a dozen doughnuts, and I showed her the order. She then comically and slowly packed my order with the premade doughnuts, and then stopped halfway through to talk to another girl who was working with her. When she continued, a blonde young girl wearing heavy dance squad makeup passed by the window and peeked at me through the corner of her eye and walked away laughing. When the original girl returned to the window with my order, I laughed politely, thanking her and apologized for the late order (even though it was still over half an hour before closing and my order should’ve just been ready to hand over to me) because of Father’s Day plans falling through and this was to makeup to my dad for the cancelled plans. She just gave me a disgusted look and said “okay?” And I told her to have a great night. I know that I probably seemed like the jerk in this situation from their perspective, but I placed the order with plenty of time before closed for doughnuts that they didn’t have to make, only to be met with annoyance by 2 highschool girls who make $16 an hour to put my food in a box and hand it over to me, who I actually planned on tipping $10 each just because I also work in food service, but after tonight it’s clear that those two girls are way overpaid for the service they gave me. I just thought any supervisor who decided to let them close up for the night should know what goes on when they...
Read moreI left a concern on the website and asked to be contacted. It has been nearly a week and I haven’t heard back, so I will share my negative experience for the rest of Murfreesboro to see.
We got on the app on Mother’s Day morning and the HOT NOW sign was illuminated. We drove approximately 20 minutes to Krispy Kreme. Upon arrival, we noticed their HOT NOW sign was NOT illuminated. My husband refreshed the app and the HOT NOW sign was still on. We got in the drive-thru line and when it was our turn I asked the employee if they had hot donuts. She replied “The light isn’t on. We do not have hot donuts.” And I explained that the app showed donuts were HOT NOW. She snapped off at me saying “We have no control what is on the app!” We left and made a stop at the Walgreens up the road and while my husband was inside I called Krispy Kreme. Brady answered. I asked for the contact information of either the franchise owner or area executive. Brady acted as if I was speaking a foreign language saying he didn’t understand what I was asking for. I asked for Brady’s boss and he explained his general manager was off. He said he was an assistant manager and wanted to know what I wanted. I asked for his general manager’s name and he refused to give me the name. I briefly expressed the inconvenience we experienced and he, too, said they cannot control what the app indicates. I asked again for his GM’s name and he still refused to give it to me. I told him that he was providing poor customer service and that I would be contacting corporate and his actions would reflect that he is not competent to be a member of leadership for Krispy Kreme.
Here’s the thing…the website and app indicate that the Murfreesboro location does not have set HOT NOW times. With that known, it makes me believe that the Murfreesboro must have control when the HOT NOW option is active on the website/app.
We prefer the hot donuts. The others taste stale and I am pretty sure that everything but the glazed are made offsite.
So, roughly 45 minutes of wasted time. I hated I had to encounter employees with poor customer service.
Will I go back? I probably won’t ever make a trip out that way solely for Krispy Kreme, but if I’m out running errands and see their sign lit up,...
Read moreAh, Krispy Kreme! That noble temple of indulgence, where the promise of delight is heralded by the glowing beacon of the “Hot Now” light—a signal as irresistible as a call to adventure. When that light burns bright, it is not merely a sign but an invitation, a challenge to all who pass: Enter, and taste perfection.
And so we did. A dozen fresh donuts, each one a golden treasure of warmth and softness, their delicate glaze gleaming like the finest crystal in the sunlight. To bite into one was to surrender utterly, for these were not mere pastries but confections of the gods, melting upon the tongue with a sweetness that spoke of a simpler, happier world.
The children—ah, their joy was uncontainable! Their laughter mingled with the aroma of fresh dough and sugar, their hands clutching donuts as if they were the spoils of some grand crusade. And then the crowning touch: a cold chocolate milk, rich and velvety, the perfect companion to this feast of wonder. Together, the pairing was a symphony, a duel of flavors in perfect harmony, elevating the moment into one of true splendor.
Five stars, then, for Krispy Kreme—not merely for their mastery of the donut, but for their gift of sweet moments, shared with family, made timeless in their simplicity. Truly, they are the musketeers of indulgence: one for flavor, one for joy, and...
