Do NOT waste your time and money! On 11/10, my son shattered the screen on his phone right above the home button. Usually, I would have a family friend fix a broken device or I would fix it (I sooooo regret not doing that this time!). This phone was in perfect condition and only 8 months old that day. I decided to give uBreakiFix a try, because I couldnât get a replacement screen kit until the next Tuesday and where it hit the screen had gone black causing the phone to be unusable.
We called they quoted $140 and 1 hour to fix. We got there and the quote changed to $160 and 1 1/2 hours to fix. The young man looked it over and noted that the back glass was in tact and phone did not seem to have any defects other than the broke front screen. He didnât have me sign anything to testify to his assessment or the phones condition. He said they would text me when it was ready. We ran an errand, and they texted me in less than an hour that it was ready. I confirmed that the screen was replaced and seemed to be working fine when I picked it up. When I got in the car my son told me it looked funny, I asked him what he meant. He said he wasnât sure, but it seemed different. But he put it back in itâs case and started using it. On the way home he noticed the color on the screen was off, but he said that didnât think it bothered him.
3 days later my son tells me the screen was coming off and his service wasnât working right. I started looking it over and noticed that it looked slightly bent right where the SIM card is. I asked if he had noticed it. He said no he hadnât taken out of the case since it was fixed. The service was reading as 1x where my phone was reading LTE. I called uBreakiFix they said it was probably a defective screen to just bring it in for a replacement. I took in the next day. The same young man was there as before and tried to act dumb about the bend and screen/service issue, and asked if my son had dropped it again. This was the same guy who I originally brought it to broken. They said would be ready in a hour. 2 hours later I call because I had not heard from them. They tell me that a screen had to be brought from another store so it would be tomorrow, but the manager would be there so I could talk to him. I picked it up because I didnât trust leaving it there over night (the guy had tried to bend it back, but told me he checked the SIM card). I Took it back to be fixed, and talked to the manager who denied, denied, denied that they had done anything to the phone. And he added that the technician had noted the bend AFTER the repair. They replaced the screen again, but refused to do anything else.
One week later the screen starts flickering and the service has gone back to working off and on. I called the Brentwood store where the second screen came from to see if they would remedy the problem. The man there offered to fix the screen a third time, but couldnât offer a refund unless I drove to Brentwood to let him try. My son begged me not to take it to them to try because they might make it worse again. So now I have a teenager starting to drive soon with a phone that is not reliable, but I have to pay for over another a year before I can upgrade it! Never use this place... after further asking around we found out that 2 other young people took their phones there to get screens fixed and their phones were bent also in the same exact location. Very fishy and shady. Stay way!
Follow up.... yeah the little comment below... I have been calling them back for 2 weeks per an email and 1 voicemail. All I can do is leave a message for the extension I was given. They wonât call me back. So obviously they donât care about customer service or their bogus warranty. FYI, I stand behind my the opinion to stay away...
   Read moreHello All,
I just tried to have this location repair a device I was specifically told would be warrantied within a year, and now they will not honor it.
First of all, their record keeping is terrible, and/or their staff lied to me. They did an entire repair that they have no record of, or so I was told: Charging port on an iPad. Murfreesboro location said it wasn't in the notes. The Smyrna location said it is.
So here's the whole story:
I originally brought the iPad to the Murfreesboro location for a diagnostic because it would not charge without a fast charger. They told me they would check the battery and the charging port and fix whichever one needed it. They ended up replacing the battery December of 2024. That did not fix the issue and it was still doing the same thing, so I brought it back and they fixed it under warranty and replaced the charging port, or so. I was told, now I am a little confused because I have two different stories telling me two different things. Murfreesboro location says they did not fix the charging port, the Smyrna location says they did fix the charging port in Murfreesboro via the technicians notes. This also did not fix the issue. The iPad was still not charging without a fast charger. And I was now told the issue was something to do with a chip inside the motherboard. They said I had up to one year to make this decision because I denied the repair that day. They told me if I wanted that repair I had to sign a waiver because it was not a guarantee that it would fix the problem, and it could break the iPad more. I said okay. Can I make that decision at a later time and we will just use a fast charger for now because it was my kid's birthday and I wanted to give him the iPad back for his birthday. The original fix was done around Christmas time and we were trying to get it to him before Christmas time but it wasn't fixed then either. So now here I am today in the Murfreesboro location trying to get the iPad fixed because they told me I had one year to come back and have the motherboard chip fixed for free under warranty. Now they're saying they will not even fix the charging port because there's no record of it in the Murfreesboro location, but there is, (The Smyrna location lead technician read the Murfreesboro technician's notes to me), And they are also saying they cannot fix now because they never fixed it beofre.
I was EXPRESSLY told that they would it within a year, FOR FREE UNDER WARRANTY, no questions asked. Well, they are going to warranty the ghost charging port repair, or the internal charging chip.
Also, the lead technician in Smyrna told me that the way the Murfreesboro store is running has been changing.
The gentleman I was dealing with today I have never seen here before.
I would not recommend at all using this location. If you do choose to use this location for your device repairs, I would make sure that the technician's notes are completely accurate with what they are telling you at the counter. And if they refuse to put in there that they will warranty something in the notes, DO NOT USE THEM.
Legally, they are in the right. Because they don't have it in their notes that they would warranty this repair. But that's what I was told to my face standing in the storefront, so it is definitely bad business practices. What I think is happening is they weren't making enough money and they weren't hitting their profit margins, so now they're denying as many claims as possible.
I FULLY EXPECT THE STORE TO RESPOND TO THIS REVIEW AND SAY THAT THIS IS ALL LIE. BUT I'M NOT MAKING THIS UP, THIS IS...
Read moreSamsung recommended I visit the store to see if they unlock my phone with their software. I was very clear that I did not want a hard reset on my phone when I arrived there. I was more than happy to pay for them to check it and was told by the young man that he would contact me on the other phone I had when he had an answer for me and before anything other than attempting to unlock using the software was done. I literally sat in my truck directly outside the front door for 2 hours before going in to check and at that time was told he was still attempting to unlock and would be in touch with me . I reiterated I did not want a hard reset and was assured he would reach out to me. I went back out to my truck and continued to wait. Nearly 2 more hours had passed and given I was nearly 2 hours from home I went back inside and was surprised to find a different young man behind the counter and he told me my phone was ready to go. I paid $100 plus tax and as he handed me the phone I seen the screen said "continue set up" with a choice of languages. I asked what had been done and my heart sank when he said a hard master reset was done so my phone was like a brand new one!?! I asked where the other young man was and explained what he had told me, etc and was basically ignored and dismissed by this young man as he was staring at the screen of his own phone and appeared to be chatting with someone! The volume was not very loud but I clearly heard a voice over the speaker and his facial expressions were changing - point is, he was not at all engaged with me nor did he give any feedback on the fact that I was upset, angry and about in tears. I WISH I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT THEY DESERVE!! I DO NOT recommend going to this location as I was lied to and misled from the minute I walked in the door. I realize my phone may have ultimately needed the hard reset but I also wanted to be 100 certain that there was no other option as Samsung had told me that if I had no success at the repair center to call them back so we could try a few other things before taking such a permanent approach. This is exactly what I told the young man when I arrived at the center. I lost thousands of photos, voice recordings that were near and dear to my heart, and I'm sure some things that I haven't even realized yet? DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU ARE PREPARED FOR A HARD MASTER RESET ON YOUR PHONE! THEY WILL LIE, MISLEAD AND APPARENTLY THEY DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH CO WORKERS ANY BETTER THAN THEY DO CUSTOMERS REGARDING WORK IN PROGRESS - THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT...
