original review in 2023: I can't speak more highly of this place. Everything we had was so delicious - the bread (pillow soft inside and crunchy outside) and oil (perfectly seasoned w oregano), the roasted red pepper & lump crab soup (a special that should be added to the menu), filet (perfectly crusted w minimal seasoning, which would've overshadowed the melty tender inside, cooked perfectly to mid rare), the roasted tomato on the side (w panko crust), the twice baked side (a whole personal crock, super cheesy, very rich, incredible), and even the house red (idk how to describe wine, but it tasted really good).
I wish I could eat here all the time. The only thing stopping me is the price. This is a special occasion place, but I recommend you start looking for occasions to make special.
updated review in 2025: We were having a goodbye dinner w a good friend before we moved away. Since we had a gift certificate (see story below), we made reservations here. Res was a 3 top at 2030. Our friend arrived at like 2015, but he waited outside for us. We all walked in at 2037, and the staff informed us that we were too late to dine there. They said they waited "several minutes" for us before shutting everything down. Apparently, 7 minutes constitutes "several" in their eyes, even though 15 minutes is standard across the board before canceling someone's reservation. No apologies or anything were offered...just a self-righteous shrug. They even audibly locked the entrance before we'd even made it the 12 feet to our parked car.
We went around the corner to Lombardo's and had an extremely lovely meal there, for a little less than F&S would've cost. Guess they didn't want the $400 tab w proportionate tip.
Re: the gift certificate - after our first time there (spent about $400+ that time), my husband realized (maybe 40 minutes after we'd exited) that he'd left his very expensive and prized custom engraved, gold S.T. Dupont cigar torch at the table. We called immediately and were relieved to learn that they had found it and were going to hold it at the host stand (locked up) for us to pickup within the next couple days. However, when I arrived after work 1-2 days later to pick it up, it was nowhere to be found. In fact, they never "found" it, and I had to call 4 or 5 times to get them to finally admit that fact. They even insinuated that they hadn't found it to begin with, despite saying those exact words on speakerphone to my husband in front of me and my FIL, less than an hour after we left the restaurant.
So, seemingly, one of their staff stole it...a designer lighter with someone else's name engraved into it. They didn't offer any sort of remedy at all...nothing. We had to insist on something to stand as restitution for what was very obviously a lack of integrity on their part and were eventually granted a $25 gift certificate, which barely buys you a small bowl of mashed potatoes and a side salad at this place, in exchange for their staff stealing/losing a $300 engraved (rare) cigar torch they'd confirmed they had located and assured us would be safely secured.
If we hadn't had that stupid gift certificate worth nearly nothing at a place like this, we'd never have planned on returning for the goodbye dinner in the first place. But after the lighter fiasco and then closing up shop 6 minutes after our reservation time, we would never patronize this place again and, after recommending them to easily a couple dozen people, will stop recommending for and strongly recommend against this business.

Yesterday, my wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Fire & Smoke, and I must say, it was an overall delightful experience! Our waitress was absolutely top-notch, providing 5-star service throughout the evening. 👩🍳💯
To start, I had the pleasure of trying their signature Smoked Old Fashioned, and let me tell you, it was one of the best I've ever had! 🥃🔥 The smoky notes elevated the classic cocktail, leaving a lasting impression.
The Caesar salad was a revelation! 🥗🔥 Grilling the romaine lettuce gave it a unique, hot twist that I had never experienced before. Topped with shaved Parmesan and their house-made dressing, it took the salad to a whole new level of deliciousness.
Moving on to the main course, I opted for the ribeye. The flavor and crust were exceptional, truly one of the best ribeyes I've ever tasted. The slightly sweet reduction sauce accompanying the steak was a knockout! However, there was a small hiccup—the steak was cooked to a well-done stage, lacking the desired pink center or expected juiciness. 😔💔 Given the price point, I expected a steak with a better texture and juiciness. I believe requesting a rare steak in the future might be the way to go. It seems that the thinness of the steak and the amount of charring make it difficult to achieve a perfect medium-rare.
The mac and cheese, though decent, fell a bit short of my expectations. 🧀🤔 While the cheese itself was of high quality, I felt that an à la carte mac and cheese should have something special to set it apart. Perhaps the addition of bacon or crab would have added that extra flair. LongHorn Steakhouse, for instance, offers more flavorful options. At a restaurant of Fire & Smoke's caliber and price range, I anticipated a dish that would leave me astounded, thinking it was worth the extra $100 spent. Unfortunately, it didn't quite reach that level. 😕💰
Now, let's talk about my wife's meal. She ordered the meatloaf, and hands down, it has to be the best meatloaf on earth! 🥩😍 Each bite was packed with mouthwatering flavors and made for a truly memorable dining experience.
In summary, Fire & Smoke provided a wonderful ambiance and exceptional service, with some standout dishes and minor disappointments. I would definitely recommend trying their unique cocktails, savoring the grilled Caesar salad, and exploring other enticing menu options. 🍹🥗🍽️ While there were a few misses in terms of my steak and the mac and cheese, the overall experience was enjoyable, and we left with satisfied taste buds and cherished...
Read moreWell...thats curtains for Fire & Smoke with us. Gave them another try after having such good experiences to not let 1 bad trip deter us. But this was worse than the last time. It was our anniversary and we were so excited to have a big fancy dinner with high end drinks and steaks.. After being seated it took 15 minutes to get greeted/water/ place drink order. Was not even full in the restaurant. Drinks took another 10 mins to be delivered. Our server went to other tables 3 or 4 times before returning to us once. After 38 mins of being seated we hadn't even gotten to place our food order. At this point we order apps and cut our losses cause of how long service was taking- keep in mind other ppl were not having this experience, just us. Aspen grille is 5 mins away and has a similar menu and better service. That's where we will be spending our money going forward.
I hate that I have to update this review. This restaurant has been a highlight of my southern living... but what happened last night has me rethinking it. I left my past review to show what its been in my experience. Last night we arrived and had a good meal (not usual quality food experience but still good and a few things that they didnt have in stock).... when we got the bill I was shocked. Our steaks at market price went up over 20%. I understand that things have increased but 110 for a cowboy steak that was under done was upsetting. Then they don't tell you that they are charging you 4% for credit card purchases until you get the bill. Had that been listed prior i wouldve gotten cash...And a group of 4 had a 20% tip automatically added that also wasn't disclosed. We normally tip 22-24% but the assumption to charge all these things without being upfront on their website and social media meant that we were done .. We paid over $450 for 4 entrees and 5 drinks. No apps. No desserts. Never been so disappointed...guess our next big events will be celebrated elsewhere.
can not say nicer things about this restaurant. The food is OUTSTANDING. The service is almost always perfection. Not one thing we have ordered has ever been less than delicious. Duck confit nachos, steak, bison meatloaf, chive whipped potatoes, oysters- all fabulous. It is pricey so we only come here for big occassions like family visits, anniversaries, and our engagement. But if I won the lotto- this is where I would come weekly to eat.
Update: We just celebrated our 8 year anniversary and everyone was so amazing. SERIOUSLY PEOPLE. This place...
