The service was 5 stars plus, thank you to the gentleman who brought out my food Sunday (Valentines day) evening..you were so quick with my order, courteous & helpful especially to the fact I'm going thru treatments which requires that I take extra precautions, which keeps me from inside dining, as well as seeing you wearing a mask, making a point of sanitizing my change, and just being so kind, your customer service.. if not the " food " would bring me back, I wasn't happy with the size of the portions, really small for adult more sized as a child meals, the Alice Springs Chicken was disappointing, and not cooked thoroughly, ( no fault of the man who brought out my food, for he redeemed that issue ..which may had made me less likely to return otherwise but for his stellar customer service skills) and.. I did love the Fried Chicken sandwich, that was delicious, and thankfully it was not spicy as the Alice Springs chicken was,( which I didn't remember it being in the past,or I would of passed on it for that reason alone, it just tasted off? ) Oh"".. but the Fried Chicken sandwich was cooked thoroughly, was moist inside, and had a great crunchy and tasty breading on the outside.. no,I wasn't pleased with the lack of extras I requested, or the small portion size( ex.loaf of bread which was perhaps 3 small slices, and butter enough to spread on only 1 slice... but I know "especially since I worked there many years ago" ,( like over 12years ago) that every restaurant is allowed a mistake once in a while, so, because of the service of the gentleman who brought out my food for pickup, which I couldn't remember his name, I wish I did, but he worked Valentines Sunday evening, on takeout orders being picked up,, and in the rain, with still a smile on his face..and also for the great tasting Chicken Sandwich, ( which I will definitely order again) I will go back again... perhaps a earlier time, and when not so busy will help with the food quality...as for the customer service, 5 stars plus..and "Thank You" I hope you know who you are, if it rings a bell I was driving a red car and blonde hair in braids and a hoodie on.. you are a truly "asset..to the "Nags Head, NC " Outback "... and heads up, whether service is top notch or food great or not, these folks are working to hard, and so I remind you, takeout or not, don't forget and not tip, and not 15% that's really not cool, 20% is what I believe is deserved,or more if you want,yes".. . even for takeout, they are hustling and bagging it best they can, rain or not..they deserve it, if not for them, there's alot of people who wouldn't get a restaurant meal, so do what's right.. tip our workers, they do have bills and families to care for..that goes for all our Outer Banks restaurant's. So here's to another try next time, I'll look forward to...
Read moreCorporate needs to seriously reevaluate this location. Not usually a type of person that would make a negative review, but experience from beginning to end was terrible. Got on waiting list, via their website, to arrive hours later. The hostess should in no way shape or form be at that position. There were approximately 20 empty tables, showed the hostess my confirmation email with the time and for a party of 2 and was told I was not on any waiting list(This happened to others as well) and to have a seat, with no clear understanding of time frame, nor verifing a name etc. Decided to have a seat and watched approximately 40 to 50 people walk in the door as the hostess told everyone 45 to 60 min wait time. For reference, this was 630pm on a Monday. Most people turned around and left, when she started seating the customers that were waiting, she did so in no organized manner, seating parties that had been waiting for 5 mins over parties that had been waiting for 30 to 45 mins. It was a cluster to say the least, after being seated, Ana who seemed to really be trying, took our order, she was pleasant, we ordered right away with first contact. We had menus but no silverware, nor did the other 4 or 5 tables around us. Ana brought out our side salad to the table but did so in such a rush we were unable to ask for silverware. While that wasn't her fault, nor responsibility, we were able to flag her down a few mins later. And she returned with silverware a few mins after that. Total time with food on table and no utensils to eat was approximately 10 mins. Same with every other table. Watched an entire table of 6 just get up and leave. Zero manager in sight, not one time did I ever see a manager, not sure they existed the way the place was ran. Ordered a draft beer, took 15 mins to get. Keep in mind this is a half empty restaurant, maybe only 40ish customers inside.Food came out, and was almost inedible. Green beans tasted like frozen plastic, were not prepared properly with stems still attached etc. The 30 dollar steaks were cooked correctly but tasted like meat that had been frost bitten in the freezer. The only food that was ok in taste, flavor was a side salad. This was by far the worst restaurant experience I have ever experienced. Ever. I probably witnessed a few thousand dollars of customers walk out the door due to the inability of the staff to work in a restaurant environment. Whoever is running this location should be fired immediately because they are cleary incapable of doing such. Ana was the ONLY pleasant person, and she was drowning from the lack of support. Someone needs to step in and do something from a buisness...
Read moreBAD STEAKS AND OVER CHARGED! When you walk into a restaurant at peak dinner time and there may be half a dozen customers that is usually a bad sign and you should leave. Well it’s OutBack and we thought their reputation would shine through. Nope. Party of 3 for bday dinner and dessert. 2 put of 3 orders were unacceptable. The chopped pecan salad had no Pecans and when we told our waiter he apologized and said he would go get some. A while later he came back and said we don’t have any pecans and left a table Awhile later the manager arrived with pecans…..I ordered the 18 ounce ribeye. I had to send the steak back, it was on unedible. It had deep black char marks on 1 side and taste like Charcoal lighter fluid. The waiter lightly apologized and asked me if I wanted another one and I said yes so he picked my plate up steak and baked potato and went back to the kitchen. A while later he came back with a new steak and asked me if it was better. It looked better but it wasn’t medium rare by then I didn’t even wanna eat it. Both steaks were pinky finger thick. Honestly I cannot believe they were 18oz. Nothing like the picture represents. I wish I could attach photos to this review. We were comped for the carrot cake. where is the weather for the check and he says oh you can pay on this little toy we have which is the new electronic check out at your table. He stood there and pushed all the buttons and breeze through it I push the top button and the left and I said excuse me I would like a receipt and so he had actually go put one the next morning I looked at our receipt I could not believe how high it was I was double charged for that steak that I couldn’t eat. I called the manager early the following evening and explained it to her what transpired. I gave her all the information from the receipt that she had asked for, she said that she was having internet problems and could not find the charge but promised to call me back as soon as she found it me and assured me it would get a refund well she never called me. This is totally unacceptable and I’m so disappointed in Outback and their representatives. At a total inconvenience to me I’m going to drive back to outback this evening to attempt to...
